“Get up. You’re being lazy again.” Lu Xinyi shook her husband shoulders but Shen Yi refused to move from his position. She glared at his childish actions.
“I have the right to be lazy today. We can deal with the gala later. Let me take a break.” Shen Yi grunted. He decided to cancel all his meetings for today to make up for the lost time he had with Lu Xinyi the night before.
It was still early in the morning, after having their breakfast Shen Yi laid his head at Lu Xinyi’s lap and used it as a pillow while she watched a programme on the television. Lu Xinyi sighed and leaned back on her seat while absentmindedly brush her husband’s bangs away from his face.
Shen Yi’s eyes dropped closed and drifted to sleep. It was after an hour when he woke up again, still on his wife’s lap. Adjusting his position so that he was comfortable, Shen Yi slipped an arm around her waist to pull her closer and closed his eyes. Lu Xinyi had turned off the television and busy on her phone.
“How long are you going to sleep?” Lu Xinyi complained.
“Have pity on your husband. He needs some love from his wife.”
Lu Xinyi bit her lower lip, a blush staining her cheeks bright red.
“You should move to the bed if you’re planning to sleep more.”
“Nope, it’s better to sleep in your lap. Comfier than pillows. It’s better than you think.” Shen Yi murmured, his arm tightening on her waist.
Lu Xinyi giggled on whatever video she was watching on her phone. With bleary eyes, Shen Yi looked at her seeing her on her phone while her hand playing a short lock of his hair.
“These cats are so funny.” she laughed, then turned her phone for him to see. He quirked a brow when he saw a fluffy cat stuck between a screen door and the main door.
“Why do girls love cats?” he asked.
“Eh? Because they’re cute and silly at times.”
Shen Yi shook his head and let it fell back to her lap.
“I will never understand why women love cats. They say cats are independent. They don’t listen to their owners. They don’t come in when you call and like to stay out all night. And when they’re home they like to be left alone and sleep. In other words Xinyi, every quality that women hate in a man, they love in a cat.”
Lu Xinyi grinned.
“Are you worried that I’m going to adopt cats? I don’t think Mallows and Milktea will like to share their home with some kitties.”
“Hmm… you better remember that. I don’t want you to become a little old lady with a bunch of cats.”
His wife snickered.
“Who says I’m going to be a cat lady?!”
Shen Yi’s grin curved devilishly. Lu Xinyi was beginning to regret what she’d said.
“Of course, dear. We will have a lot of babies than cats.”
Lu Xinyi slapped her forehead. She knew it was coming.

Now, she was nervous. Lu Xinyi cursed herself for panicking earlier. She should’ve done dressing if Shen Yi woke her up earlier from her afternoon nap.
The gala was tonight and she was trying to figure out how should she prepare herself to look presentable as Shen Yi’s date. She a.s.sumed that her husband was already ready and just finis.h.i.+ng some work so at least she didn’t have to worry about him.
Taking the dress from the closet she unzipped its cover to see a beautiful off shoulder light orange dress with some translucent material to overlay the bottom half of it. She still couldn’t believe that she was able to wear something as beautiful as this dress.
Lu Xinyi hurriedly got dressed and did her make up. The ending result was surprising, at least for her. Her hair was in curls, bouncing softly over her shoulders. Her makeup was very light as always but it looked totally different from her normal looks. The orange dress fit perfectly and was very comfortable to wear.
All in all, she was impressed.
A sudden knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
‘Oh, here we go, Xinyi. Now, don’t make a fool out of yourself.’
She opened the door and gawk at her husband. He looked so perfect— a beautiful navy blue suit with an inner light orange s.h.i.+rt to match her dress. His suit in pristine condition with no crease or lines. Nothing was out of place.
“You look beautiful, by the way.” Shen Yi spoke out. “Do you think we could go to the nearest chapel so I can marry you again?”
Lu Xinyi blushed more as his hand lightly touched the curls along her temples.
“We should probably go.” she murmured.
A small smile made its way on his face. Shen Yi leaned forward to kiss her forehead before extending an arm out for hers.
“We shall go then, milady.”
