It was something that Lu Xinyi didn’t expect from him. Sure he was the president of a well-known company but she never thought that Shen Yi will opt to choose to live in a simple but huge two-story house instead of getting some private penthouse like the rest of CEOs and presidents.
Walking into his house they were greeted by two huge Akita dogs in the living area. Shen Yi totally forgot about them and was afraid that they wouldn’t accept his wife. Much to his surprise, Lu Xinyi squealed in delight when she saw the dogs and waited for them to take her scent to familiarize.
He watched as both of the dogs moved and encircled Lu Xinyi before she knelt in front of them and lifted a hand. She didn’t move. She waited for the dogs to consider her and let them take the first step to approach her.
One of the dogs approached her hand, gave it a quick sniff before rubbing his muzzle on her palm. Lu Xinyi giggled and absentmindedly gave the dog a scratch on his ears. The other dog who seemed jealous of the attention his brother getting from Lu Xinyi, nudge the woman on her arm so she could pat his head like a good boy.
Shen Yi didn’t know how to react. How was it possible that his dogs that barely pay attention to other humans accept Lu Xinyi easily? What’s more, it was their own wedding night and yet these dogs are taking the attention of his wife! Unforgivable!
Poor Shen Yi is beaten and defeated by his own dogs.
“Didn’t you say you were hungry?” He asked, trying to get back her attention. Leading her to the s.p.a.cious kitchen that he barely uses when he was at home.
“Oh, right. What do you have in there?”
Hungry, her mind reminded Lu Xinyi about the food she was seeking, following her husband. She let out a loud squeak when she found herself in his arms as he scooped her up. Unconsciously, she wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her to the kitchen.
Her blush came back in full-blown scale as she realized that Shen Yi did the traditional bride carrying on their wedding night.
Wedding night.
‘s.h.i.+t.’ Lu Xinyi cursed herself. She forgot that tonight was their wedding night. She dearly hoped that he wouldn’t ask her to sleep with him because she wasn’t ready for that. She admitted, only to herself that she was attracted to him but that wasn’t enough reasons for her to tumble on his sheets and be intimate with him.
Shen Yi made her sat on the counter while he took some ingredients from his fridge to make a sandwich for her. He then gave her a bottled water while he prepares her food.
His dogs followed them to the kitchen and waited for Lu Xinyi to notice them again. They weren’t aware of the foul mood that they made out of their master.
“Do they have names?” she asked Shen Yi. He shrugged, not caring about those two traitors who tried to keep his wife away from him.
“They haven’t. You can name them if you want to.”
“Really?” Her smile widened. She’d never got a pet before because her landladies didn’t allow her to get one. Even Gong Yijun didn’t allow her to adopt one when they visited an animal rescue center.
“Yes, both are males. And since you’re going to live with us, it will be your responsibility to look after them from now on,” he added.
Lu Xinyi squealed louder, jumped down from the counter, giving Shen Yi a tight hug. He stood frozen on his pot, with a spatula on his hand. Her sandwich forgotten on the counter.
“Yes! Yes! No problem! Oh my G.o.d! I’m going to have two babies.” she said before releasing him and going to the two dogs and scratched their chins.
‘Babies?’ Her babies or their babies? He wondered.
She was so strange. Most women would be scared out of their wits if they saw two large dogs like his pets but Lu Xinyi didn’t even flinch when she saw them.
“Are you not scared of them?” he asked. His curiosity won over him.
Lu Xinyi laughed when one of his dogs gave her a sloppy kiss on her cheek.
“Why should I? They’re so cute and their fur is so soft!”
