“Where are you taking me?” Sun Feiyan asked, turning her head in the direction where she heard a sound. They blindfolded her and tied her hands behind her back. She had no idea where she was and where they were taking her.
The ties on her wrist were too tight that it almost bit her smooth skin. She was aware that she was thrown on the backseat of a car which drove away as soon as they’d taken her from her apartment building. So there was a third man on their group who was waiting for their return.
Despite Sun Feiyan being dragged away, none of the pa.s.sers-by wanted to help her. She felt the vehicle began moving.
“Someone wants to see you.” She heard a man’s voice responding to her question with a sneer. “Don’t think of escaping. We were told to shoot you if you resist.” He warned her.
Sun Feiyan scoffed inwardly. She wasn’t too dumb to do something like that. Didn’t she willingly come with them so Chen Anqi could escape? Seeing that they didn’t pursue Chen Anqi meant that they were only after her. There was nothing to be afraid of. Even if she died tonight, the thought that she was able to save her friend’s life would be enough for her.
What did Zou Yin want from her anyway? She never interacted or talked to him before because she was wary of his intentions. He always had this s.a.d.i.s.tic grin on his face whenever she saw him at the Sun Estate. She wondered where her aunt found such a devious person. Was he also after the family wealth of the Suns?
If it wasn’t for money, why else would he stick around and mess up with their lives?
“What does he want from me?” She questioned them again.
“You’ll find out when we get there,” was all they said.
Sun Feiyan curled her body on the corner, hoping that these men wouldn’t dare to touch her indecently. The ride lasted for two hours in silence as they stopped somewhere. Hearing sea waves from outside, she knew they were very close to the sea.
Thinking hard about where they’d taken her by the sounds of waves and the time since they’d abducted her, she could mentally narrow down the places that meet the criteria.
However, before she could come to a conclusion, someone grabbed her arms and roughly pulled her out from the vehicle until her feet touched the ground.
“Move.” Another man shoved at her back, forcing her to walk forward.
Walking over the asphalted ground, Sun Feiyan could smell the salt.w.a.ter and feel the breeze through her clothes. Sudden darkness engulfed her, with her footsteps echoing as if she’d stepped inside of an empty room. She was forced to sit somewhere and was told to wait and not to move.
Minutes later, she heard a familiar voice cursing their kidnappers. She turned her head to the sound until someone removed the blindfold from her head. She gasped in surprise as she saw Lu Xinyi being dragged inside the empty warehouse they were in, giving the men a fierce look.
“You better start praying that I won’t escape from these ties! b.a.s.t.a.r.d!” Lu Xinyi yelled. She was also caught off-guard upon seeing Sun Feiyan sitting next to her. Why was she here?
The man merely chuckled, smiling lightly.
“It should be you who should start praying that your husband will find you soon, but who cares. Maybe Shen Yi will be dead before you know it.” He then turned to ask his companions. “Where’s the other one? Bring her here. Boss will be arriving soon.”
A moment later, another woman was being hauled inside. Lu Xinyi and Sun Feiyan watched anxiously, their jaws dropping when they saw Li Qiao being half-dragged towards them. Li Qiao was wearing a nightdress and only a silk robe was protecting her body from the night chill. She was obviously angry but didn’t seem surprised to see Lu Xinyi and Sun Feiyan there.
“Place Miss Li beside Miss Sun and bring me Lu Xinyi.” Zou Yin’s voice echoed within the place, with Feng Qianyu walking behind him, her face filled with disgust.
Zou Yin gave Lu Xinyi a half-smile as he sat at the couch across his prisoners.
“You sick b.a.s.t.a.r.d. What are you planning to do with her?” Feng Qianyu sneered.
Lu Xinyi was forced to move on a seat next to Zou Yin. Her body was tensed as Zou Yi’s hand reached out to her and held her chin.
“Beautiful as always, Madam Shen,” he said, licking his lips—to Lu Xinyi’s disgust.
After she was kidnapped at the party, Lu Xinyi remembered nothing until she regained consciousness an hour ago. When she had woken up, she found her hands tied in front of her, confused as she remembered it being tied behind her back during the a.s.sault. Her wrists were starting to get painful, and she felt a little sticky from sweat. She looked around the place in which they had placed her. The windows had a thick layer of dust on them, indicating no one had cleaned the place for years and a few dusty old office tables and furniture were stacked on one side.
She knew that the possibility of escaping would be slim, knowing that she wasn’t the only one Zou Yin and Feng Qianyu abducted.
“Say, let’s make a bet. How long do you think it’ll take for Shen Yi to find you?” Zou Yin asked her with a sinister smile. “Or do you really think he’ll come to rescue you?”
Lu Xinyi couldn’t understand what he was up to.
“Miss Li is also here,” Zou Yin said as if he could read the confusion on her mind. “Between the two of you, who do you think Shen Yi will save?”
Lu Xinyi froze on her seat. What was that supposed to mean? Her eyes then s.h.i.+fted at Li Qiao who was glaring daggers at Zou Yin.
“What nonsense are you talking about? My brother will come to my aid. I don’t need Shen Yi’s help at all.” Li Qiao hissed as she struggled to sit in a more comfortable position.
“Oh, ho? Are you telling me you aren’t interested in getting back with Shen Yi?” Zou Yin raised a brow at her amusedly. Who hadn’t heard how Shen Yi and Li Qiao were spotted together the other night?
“You think too much. There’s nothing between me and Shen Yi anymore, stupid. For your information, I’m also happily married for three years now, and I’m not planning to become someone else’s woman.” Li Qiao scoffed. Under the moonlight that streamed from the broken window, her smooth pale skin looked enticing; and her glossy midnight hair fell over her shoulders. Seeing her up close, Lu Xinyi thought no wonder people say Li Qiao was a great beauty. Her beauty was comparable to a nymph.
Zou Yin hummed and rubbed his chin as he thought.
“Really? And here I thought I could s.n.a.t.c.h Lu Xinyi from his grasp.” He muttered to himself.
“You wis.h.!.+” Lu Xinyi was once again seething in anger. How dare this man think he could sweep her away from her husband? Only a dumb woman would like a creepy man like him!
