They had no idea what time was it already, considering that it’s been hours since they were abducted last night. The moon was still up, and there was no hint that the sun would rise anytime soon.

Lu Xinyi’s legs were starting to become numb again, and she straightened them out in front of her in hopes that they would get some circulation back in them. She shut her eyes, knowing well that this night wouldn’t end without a fight. Knowing her husband, Shen Yi must be notified of her abduction and must be looking for her by now.

The tension in the air had risen, and she started to feel suffocated. It was getting hard to breathe because of an impending death that lurked around them.

Lu Xinyi was anxious as the doors opened again, with the footsteps getting louder as seconds pa.s.sed by. As she heard the lock being turned, she s.h.i.+fted on her place, fully aware of her pounding heart inside her chest. When she saw Zou Yin again, her heart jumped to her throat and froze by the l.u.s.t that flashed in his eyes.

One man came forward and pulled Lu Xinyi to her feet while the other hauled Li Qiao up, not caring if their actions were too rough on both women. Though Lu Xinyi was curious, she was too tired to resist. She felt something was amiss with this man.

Had she met him before? Lu Xinyi couldn’t remember. The man was wearing a shabby brown coat, a white s.h.i.+rt, and faded gray jeans.

Her eyes then settled back to Zou Yin who was dressed immaculately in white while smiling as if he’d heard the very good news. The man holding Lu Xinyi was about to set her next to Li Qiao when Zou Yin stopped him.

“No, bring my dear Lu Xinyi here. Her rightful place is by my side.” Zou Yin said, and the man obediently changed his pace and brought Lu Xinyi to his boss. After doing the task Zou Yin ordered him, the man moved to stand behind Li Qiao.

Lu Xinyi was once again subjected to Zou Yin’s unwanted presence and sat down reluctantly at the other end of the couch, but the man was persistent to bug her. Zou Yin set his hand on her shoulders before Lu Xinyi felt him lean closer and whisper to her. “Let’s start the party, my dear. Shen Yi is about to attend his own funeral.”

“What are you planning to do? Zou Yin, even if Shen Yi dies tonight, I’ll make sure to follow him in the afterlife. I will never become yours!” Lu Xinyi said angrily, obviously upset at her own weaknesses. This only made Zou Yi smile.

“Well, now that I have the top pastry chef of Silver Leaf Academy and have embezzled the missing funds of Sun Corporation, do you still think that I don’t have the capacity to subdue the demon king? My dear, it is time for Shen Yi to come back to his realm… which is h.e.l.l.” Looking over at Sun Feiyan and Li Qiao who were somewhat angry, Zou Yin chuckled. “Seems to me that none of you knows where he is.”

“Are you surprised, Miss Feiyan? The money you’ve been trying to find for the past months landed into my hands.” He laughed out loud, “When your aunt invited me to return to the country after years of exile overseas, I was able to return home under a new name she’d given me. In return, I would do the dirty work for her. Imagine my delight though when I first met the infamous third miss of the Sun family. Neither had prepared me to be charmed by such fiery beauty. She was like a G.o.ddess of war that no man can conquer… until there’s Shen Yi.”

He turned to face Lu Xinyi and squeezed her shoulder, which made her cringe in disgust. If looks could kill, she had already murdered Zou Yin a thousand times.

“It doesn’t matter if you say ‘no’ now because. In the end, you will be mine. Tonight, you—my dear—will be the prize Shen Yi has to win. If he loses, then he’ll also lose his own pathetic life.”

His eyes then landed at Li Qiao as if he remembered something important.

“Miss Li shouldn’t also blame me for this. Your brother has been consistently ruining Feng Zexian’s and my business for a year now, and you—being his most treasured sister—would be the payment for his impertinence.”

‘Impertinence, your a.s.s,’ Lu Xinyi scoffed inwardly.

Li Qiao didn’t move a bit from her place. He knew what Zou Yin was talking about and had been aware of her brother’s actions for the past months.

Li Yuren was able to immobilize the illegal trading of firearms with the country and had cornered the rebels to surrender. Just last month, he was able to seize a cargo containing firearms and a hefty amount of cash bundled inside the dolls that were supposed to be sold in the market.

“Now, Miss Li. If you don’t mind spilling the confidential information as to where your brother hid the contraband he seized last month…”

She knew it! She knew that this was the reason why she was abducted, but was Zou Yin really that stupid? He said it himself… it was confidential so how was she supposed to know where it was? She never delved into her brother’s affair, much more with his dangerous missions. Li Yuren handled his missions with care. He would never share this kind of information to her even if she was his sister.

“You are wasting time, Mr. Zou. You and I both know that this doesn’t concern me at all. Didn’t you take me to anger my brother? Then, you’ve succeeded, but don’t think you can get away easily. Not only did you abduct a miss from the Sun family and the young madam of the Shens, but you’ve also awakened the sleeping lion. Are you sure it would be Shen Yi who’ll end up dead tonight, or would it be you?” Li Qiao taunted him, successfully hitting all of his sore spots.

The smile on Zou Yin’s faltered and his face became unreadable. However, his eyes were blazing upon Li Qiao’s words. This woman’s tongue sharp enough to break down his confidence.

Lu Xinyi inwardly rejoiced, and the pressure on her heart lightened after hearing what Li Qiao said. What she said was right. No one knew how this night would end, and surely Shen Yi and Li Yuren wouldn’t jump to the trap willingly.

Indeed, Zou Ying and the Fengs offended not only one family this time. With Shen Yi and Li Yuren going after him, Lu Xinyi wouldn’t be surprised if the news of Sun Feiyan also being abducted had reached Ye Xingjie’s ears. In spite of the troubles on his relations.h.i.+p with Sun Feiyan, Lu Xinyi had no doubt that Ye Xingjie would utilize his own force to get back his own woman.

However, instead of confronting Li Qiao, Zou Yin suddenly pounced on Lu Xinyi which made her scream from terror.

What the h.e.l.l was wrong with him?!

“Don’t touch me!” She snarled as he pushed her shoulders down against the couch painfully. “Let me go, you b.a.s.t.a.r.d!”

Lu Xinyi let out a painful cry when his huge hands enveloped her throat. Fear ran through her.

“Should I kill you before Shen Yi arrives?”
