possible, but then quickly realized her worries were for
nothing.
"To tell you the truth," began Cherise in an irritated tone,
"I don"t give a flying fig what you write about my stupid hus-
band."
Maggie blinked and blotted her face with a towel.
"Yeah," continued Cherise in a matter-of-fact voice.
"Greg deserves to have his name dragged through the mud
a little right now. And if you don"t do it, I might just do it
myself."

"Sounds like things have gotten worse between you
two...
Cherise rolled her eyes dramatically. "Well, after my
uncle straightened out the financial part of my business, he
Gs~ me down for a little chat. He strongly recommended that
eg and I see a marriage counselor together."
"That sounds like wise counsel."
Cherise slammed down her bottle of cleaning fluid.
"Yeah. That"s what I thought too. But will Greg agree to
come with me? No way! He doesn"t have any problems, he
says. According to him, I"m the one who"s all messed up. I
)ust couldn"t take it anymore. So I went in and saw the coun-
selor all by my little lonesome. And after just two visits, the
counselor ups and says to me that she thinks we have some
very serious marital problems!"

don"t know that much about how things are between you
and Greg. But I do know a little about relationships..." She
paused to make sure Cherise was listening.
"Yeah?" Cherise was waiting.
"I don"t want to sound preachy or anything, but I"ve
found that if I put my trust in G.o.d and not in human rela-
Itionships, I don"t get so disappointed. Plus he gives me the
strength and courage to get through some of these difficult
things. Does that make any sense~"
"Maybe." Cherise had begun to clean a piece of weight
equipment again. "Do you think it would help if I went to
church, Maggie?"
She smiled. "Yes, I do. But you probably shouldn"t expect
that Greg will go with you."

Cherise laughed. "Now that would take a real act of
G.o.d!"
After a quick shower, Maggie went over to meet Rick at
