Gabriel climbed in and smiled at everyone. He took the food and placed it in a safe place on the ground and took Itsuki in his arms. "Okay, now to head home." Subaru closed the door and climbed upfront with Kosuke. "Everyone is in, we are ready to take off."
Kosuke started the carriage and they started the long trip back home. "Thank you for accompanying me on the trip home. I am grateful to have a companion."
"Nonsense I am happy to get the fresh air and I couldn"t let any of the upper-cla.s.s family sit here with you." Subaru watched as the town slowly disappeared.
"They don"t really care and treat me like family so I don"t mind letting them sit with me. Gabriel used to sit up with me when he was younger and it was always a joy to have here with me. Sorry for rambling." Kosuke blushed but kept his eyes on the road.
Gabriel moved the curtain to the side and let Itsuki look out the window. "Do you like seeing the trees scroll by?"
"It is fascinating. This is my first trip so this is all new and exciting to me." Itsuki smiled and watched the trees move past.
"Mama, will this be the last time we move?" Mayumi looked up at her mother sadly.
"Yes, Dear. This is going to be the last time that we move. We are going to go back to your father"s home and see if we will be welcomed there. Your uncle will try to help us as well." Suzuka held onto the little girl and the baby kicked.
Edward smiled at the family across from him. "I do not know if my word will help but I will give my a.s.sistance. I am worried about my daughter so as a parent I think I can understand where they are coming from."
"Thank you, Edward. I think that my word will have sway but they will have to prove themselves. For now I propose that we all sleep and we can discuss this in the morning." Gabriel watches as Itsuki yawns and then snuggles into his arms.
Kazuki pulls out the powder and opens the package. He waits for Gabriel to open his mouth and pours the powder in. "I laced it with the sleeping powder. I knew that you would not be able to sleep if I did not do it."
"I figured as much. Thank you, Kazuki. I will try my best to help you out. I really can"t do this without you any… moree." Gabriel closes his eyes and falls asleep holding Itsuki.
A few hours later Amelia wakes up and sneaks behind Ami and looks at the embroidery. "You"re doing it again." She places her hands over Ami"s and starts to guide her. "You can do this."
Ami jumped but let Amelia help her. "Amelia, you, you scared the c.r.a.p out of me!" Ami"s hands were shaking as Amelia helped her.
Sachi starts giggling hysterically and falls over. "That was beautiful. If there was a way to capture your expression. It was priceless."
Amelia backed away and smiled as she went back to her spot and picked up the a.s.signments and sorted them into the hand in and not yet pile. She paired the papers with the a.s.signments from the teachers then handed the stack to Sachi. "IF I could trouble you to hand these in for me tomorrow."
Sachi took the stack and smiled happily. "But of course. I would do it even if you did not ask. If you can get a note from the doctor I will let Sensei know you will not be there on Friday."
There was a knock on the door and then the door slid open. "Amelia, I will write the note for you. I wanted to check you out as I am concerned. I came home early and I will have to go back to work. I have to work overnight and that is not going to be easy. So let me listen to your chest."
"Of course Father Clarence." Amelia got up slowly and sat down on the chair.
Clarence started listening to her chest and hummed a little. "I want you to be careful tonight. There"s a chance an attack might hit. I wasn"t sure about it this morning but I am sure now. So please be careful." He steps away and writes the doctor"s note and says that she was homebound until Monday at the earliest. "Here you go. Dinner will be served in the banquet room if you are up to it?"
"Yes, it will be nice to eat with everyone and I can show Ami and Sachi my s.h.i.+romuku." Amelia slowly stands up and looks at her friends. "Shall we go to dinner?"
"Yes, I am worried to hear that you might have an attack and I am glad that we will be here with you." Sachi got up and went to Amelia.
Ami went and grabbed the four medicine packages. "I am not sure which ones you need so I grabbed one of each."
Amelia took the medicines one at a time and left the sleeping aid. "That last one is a sleeping aid. I do not need that one right now." She placed the papers on the desk and winced from the taste.
Sachi went and brought Amelia her tea that was now cool but it was better than nothing. "Here drink the cool tea. It"ll help take away the taste."
Amelia drank the tea and placed the cup down. "Okay, let"s go to the banquet room now." She slowly leaves the room and leads the way there. She opened the door and smiled at the two mothers that were sitting drinking tea. "This is nice."
"Amelia, Clarence said that he was going to check up on you before leaving. Did he say anything?" Enda watched Amelia and her friends enter the room.
Sachi does not give Amelia a chance to reply. "He said there was a chance of an attack tonight but it is no way of knowing when it"ll hit again."
