Chapter 46Erika went to school the next day looking haggard and with a little dark circles under her eyes. She did not have a wink of sleep.
She was so happy that sleep did not dare to disturb her. Hahaha
Truth be told, she was battling with herself last night. Her thoughts were running wild formulating possible scenarios on how she will tell Andy her feelings.
She also informed Mei about Andy"s revelation and she was regretting telling her that news. It made her cousin"s grins scarier than before.
Who knows what she"s planning.
[*************]
"Guys, I have to go." Rina informed.
"I got some stuffs to do. It"s my sister"s birthday."
"Oh, how old is your sister?" Andy asked.
"Seventeen."
"Can I come?"
"Wow, what"s with that smile? Are you planning to hit on my sister?"
Andy laughed. "Who knows, younger girls are more beautiful nowadays."
"Hey," Rina poke her by the side.
"Truth be told, I still have a lot to prepare and guess I need a helping hand." Rina smiled mischievously.
"Hey, hey, I"m going as a visitor not a helper."
Rina only laughed. "What about you Erika?"
"I"m coming along."
[************]
As the surroundings begun to dark, visitors started to swarm one at a time in Rina"s household.
They were obviously the celebrant"s cla.s.smates; they all seemed to be of the same age.
The house begun to get noisy too.
By then, Erika was tasting Andy"s recipe"s in the kitchen.
"So how was it?"
"It seems that you would make a really good wife." Erika complimented.
"Oh," Andy nodded while doing the plating.
"Would you take me then?" She added while smiling directly to the girl.
Erika was taken by surprise with that but she can sense the humor in Andy"s voice as she uttered them. Hence, she just gave her a half smile in response.
"Are you messing with me? Gosh!"
[***********]
Time pa.s.sed, Andy was curious as she made her way to the living room. It seemed everyone was so worked up on something.
"Big sister Erika," one of the boys called out. He was fidgeting and everyone was pushing him.
"Can we ask for your number?" He finally asked.
A mischievous smile plastered in Andy"s face.
She put her right arm around Erika"s neck and lowered her gaze to the boy. Well, she"s a little taller than Erika.
"Oh, hers only? What about mine?"
"Woah…" a loud noise echoed around.
A sound of youth.
"Ahem," a boy called for an attention. He was the most good looking among everyone around. He also has this confidence radiating from himself; a little boastful.
"If Big Sister Andy wouldn"t mind, I would like to sing you a song."
"Woah…" another shout from the crowd.
Andy smiled. "Let"s hear it."
The boy went to the piano and confidently sung and played the song with extra glances and winks at that.
[Fancy meeting you alone in the crowd
Couldn"t help but notice your smile
While everybody else around us is going about
Can we just stop and talk awhile?]
[Maybe then we could go for a ride
Drive down to the countryside
Get away from the gray
And frenzied hurly-burly of the city life]
[Early yet to say what lies ahead
It"s the first day of the rest of our lives
Can we just stop and talk awhile
Get to know each other
Who are we to know?]
[Love could be waiting at the end
"Round that bend and so
Let"s stop and talk awhile
Let"s stop and talk awhile…]
"Woah…" he gained another shout along with claps from his cla.s.smates.
Andy clapped too while shaking her head sideways then went to the piano too.
"Confidence huh."
"I"d like to give you a response too." She cheekily smiled at the young lad with narrowing eyes.
"Woah…" right, another shout from them.
Andy first pressed random keys, setting the environment to silence making everyone to antic.i.p.ate what she would sing.
She even swayed her body as she started to press the right notes.
[Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes
And eyes and ears and mouth and mouth and nose
Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes]
She turned her head to look at everybody curving her lips for a smile.
"How was that… KIDS?" She emphasized the word.
No one speak a word not even a clap or even their earlier shouts.
Andy laughed mockingly while leaving everybody in grimaced expression.
Erika followed her in the kitchen and smack her head.
"Don"t you have a heart?"
"What?" Andy asked innocently with her grin still plastered in her face.
"What if the boy would be traumatized?"
"Oh, sorry I didn"t think that through," she guiltily smiled.
Erika could only roll her eyes.
