Chapter 107KAILEEN ANDY LEWIS
Three more days and my restaurant job would be over. I stood by the counter, wandering my gaze around the place. The indistinctive chatters and the sound of cutlery clinking against the dishes resounded in my ears.
I crept a sad smile as I stood there, I would miss the place once my job is over.
Then I groaned as I saw someone walking in; my brother.
Didn"t I tell you that he"s been visiting every night?
"ugh"
He cheekily smiled at me, stood beside me, throwing his arm around my shoulder.
He ran his gaze around as well, "Being sentimental?"
"tsk"
I elbowed him and he winced in pain but he never let go from his hold.
"Why are you here again?" I asked annoyingly.
"I"m gonna ask my sister out on a date with me," he winked at me.
I rolled my eyes, "Shouldn"t you be asking Claire instead?"
"gosh"
"I"m on it but for now, you first."
Then Claire interrupted us, "Do you have a minute Kev?"
"Oh my"
Kevin stood still, no words came out from him, he just nodded. I held my forehead in embarra.s.sment at his side.
"He"s not my brother"
"so helpless"
I followed them with my gaze. They occupied a table near the window and I can"t help but smile watching them both; they look good together.
"honestly"

viLelouch"s POV
Occupying a table in the restaurant and ordering something along with wine, Claire and Kevin seemed on a date with that setting.
"Kev, I won"t be beating around the bush here," Claire begun.
"We"re not teenager going on to p.u.b.erty," she inhaled.
"You"ve been giving me signals for a while now—"
"I could tell, you are interested in me."
"shoot"
"so blunt"
That was not a question but a statement and Kevin"s jaw dropped flat on the ground.
Let me rephrase it, "Are you interested in me?"
"Are you planning on pursuing me?"
Kevin just stared at her with his mouth opening and closing like a fish in the water and no words coming out.
Claire let out a small laughed as she covered her mouth in a lady like way.
She then pushed a gla.s.s of water to Kevin to help drown down the lump in his throat. Well, she noticed the consecutive swallowing hard of the man.
Kevin took it looking so embarra.s.s.
"Believe me, I"m not usually like this," Kevin said defiantly.
"I know," Claire snapped right away.
"Oh, I didn"t know you are this trusting," Kevin seemed to compose himself back.
Claire smiled, "I"ve heard a lot about your romances from your sister."
"What?" Kevin exclaimed then looked to the direction where his sister was a few minutes ago; hissing.
"So, are you?" Claire again asked bringing back Kevin"s attention to her.
"Yes," he answered, looking straight to the girl"s eyes without wavering; sounding so d.a.m.n sincere and serious.
"And I"m planning to court you to be my girlfriend then my wife."
This time, Claire"s jaw was the one dropped on the ground.
"It has been so long since my heart flutters, b.u.t.terflies swarming, you occupying my mind twenty four seven — "
"Kev stop," Claire interrupted.
"I want you to say that to the woman who can reciprocate your feelings."
Kevins brows lifted and his expression gradually became sour; dejected.
Claire inhaled deeply and looked at Kevin apologetically.
"I"m a lesbian Kev," she said bluntly.
There was a moment of silence. They just stared at each other.
"I invited you to sit with me like this for that matter," Claire broke the silence.
"I don"t want you to waste anymore of your time on me Kev."
Kevin washed up his face with his palm then leaned back to his chair without breaking eye contact with the girl.
"Are you being serious here?" He asked full of doubt.
Claire leaned in on the table, propped her elbows, clasping her palms and resting her chin on her knuckles then smiled sheepishly to Kevin as she nodded.
Kevin again washed up his face with his palm. When he"s about to speak, Claire cut him off.
"Don"t try to tell me I"m just going through a phase Kev," Claire glared.
"I"m not seventeen, I"m twenty seven and I have travelled through madness finding myself."
Kevin again didn"t say a word, he just stared at Claire processing everything in his brain.
"And don"t you dare think you can change me," she firmly added.
"Why not?" Kevin finally spoke.
Claire rolled her eyes and leaned back to her chair, crossing her arms and her legs.
"G.o.d"
"she was stunning"
"I, myself can"t even change my s.e.xuality, how could you?"
"I can"t change it even if I wanted to either."
"This… This isn"t my choice Kev, now tell me—"
"If being gay is a choice, how did you did you chose to become straight?"
"boom"
Again, Kevin could not talk back. He"s been defeated considerably.
"I"m sorry," Claire sincerely apologized for not reciprocating the man feelings not because she"s a lesbian.
Kevin snorted and faked a smile, "You"re the first woman to reject me this bluntly."
Claire gulped her gla.s.s of wine, "So I"ve heard."
Kevin raised his brow.
"From your sister," Claire clarified.
"… like having a number of pretty girls flock in your lap, something like that, " she added with a mocking tone.
Kevin chuckled, "Is this why you"re saying "no" to me?"
The girl laughed, "I already told you the reason why Kev."
Kevin could not help it but returned a smile too. The girl"s laughter was heavenly in his ears and her smile was contagious for him.
Then Claire"s expression became serious once more, "I"m a lesbian Kev but it doesn"t mean I hate men."
"The one for you would just eventually find her way to you or you to her…"
"… it"s just that—," she paused.
"... it won"t be me."
Kevin just sat there composed but his inside was shattering down and his heart was breaking piece by piece with every word Claire uttered.
He remained calm despite the fact that he wants the ground to swallow him up.
"But we can still be friends, right?"
Claire was stunned for a second, " Yeah, I guess."
That was the least she expected to hear from Kevin.
The man smiled and stood up on his feet, extending his hand.
Claire did the same and took his hand for a light handshake.
"Thanks for telling me this early while the seed has yet to sprout," Kevin said appreciatively.
Claire smiled, "I just don"t want you to waste your time on me."
Kevin chuckled, " Still, you"re the girl that captures this humble man"s heart for the meantime."
Claire let out a small laughed, "Off you go Kev."
"Woah, you"re kicking me out," he joked and they both laughed.
"G.o.d"
"the girl just rejected a billion dollar man"
"hahaha"
