Mr. Clint called his son.

"Son, arranged me a dinner with your mother, but please don"t mention that I am going." The CEO grinned. Clifford snorted.

"Pfftt, are you planning a grand entrance?" Clifford frowned.

"Will that be good?" his father sounds like a teenager. Clifford rolled his eyes.

"Ugh! Oldies... alright, alright! I"ll call mom." After their talk, he then dialled his mother"s number.

"Yes son?"

"Mom, someone wants to have a dinner date with you tonight, dress beautifully and be lovely tonight, will you? I"ll text you the details. Bye mom!"

Before his mother could answer, he hang up and she received a text message from him about the location and time. She shrugged knowing that it"s only one of her son"s antiques.

...

Helen, Cliff"s mother, arrived at the restaurant five minute early. Even in her old age, she still look glamorous and sophisticated and fit. She wore knee level off shoulder peach dress that flaunts her skin complexion she matched it with a diamond necklace and nude pumps. Her light make up emphasized her beauty all the more.

She was welcomed by the staff warmly.

"Good evening, maam, we have prepared a candlelit dinner for you and your date tonight. This way, please." She blushed when she heard the word date, she feels young all of the sudden.

"Wow! This is lovely!" the waiter pulled a chair for her.

"Where"s my date tonight? Isn"t he here yet?"

"Mr. Briggs is on his way ma"am, he will be here in any minute. What would you like to drink ma"am?"

"Just a gla.s.s of water, please, I"ll wait for my date first." The waiter politely went back to his post.

"Excuse me, ma"am, your date has arrived." She smiled widely and looked at the direction the waiter showed her. Her smile slowly froze when she saw her husband–former husband. Still devastatingly handsome in his tuxedo, and until now he never failed to make her heart beat faster.

"It"s been a while, Helen..." the old man"s eyes displayed an affection she longs for so many years.

"Clint..." the man took her hands and placed a gentle kiss on it.

"Will you give me another chance? No, let me rephrase it; will you give us, our love, a chance?" the old almost choked.

"..." she bemused. When suddenly the old man, fall on his right knees.

"Will you marry me... again?" opening a black velvet box, showing an emerald engagement ring.

"Oh my gosh! What is the meaning of this?" her knees were shaking that she involuntarily sat back on her seat.

"Just say yes, darling, because the only thing I"ll do for the rest of my life is to only love you..." the man shed tears. "...I"ve been a fool letting you go. I"ve lived in h.e.l.l for the past years that we"re not together. But I was defeated by my foolish pride. Please forgive me. I still love you for all these years. I never loved you more than ever than now."

Helen was dumbstruck and still could not speak. Tears fell from her eyes.

"Just how many years did I waited for him to say those words? Twenty? Thirty years?" she almost gave up on him and married another man again, but she couldn"t hoping that someday, they will be together once again. And now, her wish has come true.

"Yes, oh yes! I"ll give you and our love a chance once again. Please don"t hurt me again." She pleaded crying.

"I only promise that you will cry only because of joy..." he put the ring on her finger and kissed the woman pa.s.sionately.

"Oh Clint, I love you more than ever..." they were serenade by a professional violinist playing their favorite song.

Not faraway from them, a pair of eyes stared lovingly at them, instead of joining them, he chose to just go home and let the love birds enjoy their time together. He looked in the sky and sighed.

"Will I ever experience such love for a woman?" he thought to himself before he opened his car and drove home.
