Clifford did not answer her right away instead he offered her for some coffee. "Hmmm... would you like some coffee?""Ah yes, I guess I need that now. Thank you." Ingrid felt something is amiss. "Please tell me the whole truth, I can handle it," she said a.s.suring him.
Clifford did not respond but just brewed the coffee first not wanting to think thoughtlessly before he tells her what is now happening in the ma.s.s media.
"Okay, here." He handed the coffee cup to Ingrid smelling the bittersweet aroma the coffee brought.
And then an idea hit Clifford, thinking of a place in the villa where they could have a calm and long talk.
"I think there"s a perfect place for us to talk over some important things. Come let"s have a walk outside. Here take this I"ll go get something that keeps us warm."
Clifford went ahead of her and took some thick blankets for each of them.
Ingrid, on the other hand, slowly noticing the kindness and gentleness Clifford is showing her now. But then again she dismissed the idea, not wanting to entertain any false hopes and emotion that may hurt her in the end.
"Unless he tells it so." She pondered.
Clifford ushered her at the back of the villa.
Ingrid gasp at the beauty she is seeing, the backyard was filled with aromatic plants and in the middle of it, is an infinity pool and an outdoor Jacuzzi. If it"s early she imagined that it has a breathtaking view of the mountain filled with lush plants and a nice sunrise and sunset to behold, too.
The place is also well lit and the aroma from the plants gives her a calm state. Soft mist everywhere as if it is fresh from a drizzle.
"I love this place!" she exclaimed.
"Glad to know that." Clifford smiled.
They each took the blankets and sat at the poolside benches. "So, where were we at?" she is referring to the last discussion they had before coming outside.
"Uhm.. Promise me that you ought to hear me out first. Because I know that what I am about to say may enrage you. So can you promise me?" Clifford said seriously.
Ingrid inhaled deeply, "Hooh! Okay, I promise." She has this hunch that this is about incident earlier in the airport.
"That"s my woman!" he muttered silently.
"What did you say?" her brow rose.
"Nothing." He denied shrugging his shoulders and continued talking, "...honestly, Gary called me earlier while you were sound asleep. He said that some news reports were making a big fuss out of the incident earlier and that what happened at the airport was somehow twisted, showing only the fragment of the whole story earlier."
"Wait, what exactly do you mean by somehow twisted and only a fragment of the whole story? And how grave is it?" Clifford took out his phone and showed her some earlier news reports.
Ingrid narrowed her brows after she watched the news report. She was caught in a deep thought, a.s.sessing the matter.
"What are you thinking? Please let me know, we both know that we are in this mess together and that we should work together as a team."
She stared at him deeply.
"I think we are facing some unidentified enemy. Do you have an ex girlfriend who is, until now, been obsessed to you? Or hurt or offended someone in the past that makes that person act in his or her hatred towards you now? Or some woman who wanted you for herself so badly? Or business rivals perhaps?"
He thought about it for a moment.
"None that I can think of, as of now. As for the exes and some women, I have not offended any of them, because we parted and broke up neat and clean. Business rivals are present everywhere you know that and besides why would that person target you most and Clark? Unless, it is someone from your past? Or your exes? A person whom you offended before?" Clifford threw back some of her questions.
"Geez why would they do that to me? They were the ones who hurt me, what right do they have to do that!"
"How about Clark, do you have plans on telling him how he was conceived? I mean, you don"t want it that other person would tell him right?"
