Her world shattered when her husband revealed her father"s illness. She feels heavy and torn between the two.If she"ll decline the offer it means that she won"t be able to help her father and the company will slowly pa.s.s on to another of which she isn"t sure is capable to handle the huge company and her father"s effort for many years will just be put to waste.
She couldn"t fulfill her responsibility as a daughter and her ultimate desire, that is to manage their family"s business. The very reason she run away.
On the other hand, if she chooses to accept it, it could mean only one thing: separation. Separation from the life she already been used to, especially from the family she"s start to build, from her loving husband, from her son.
Consequently, it"ll cost her everything she hold dear.
"Love… what must I do?" her tears started to drop.
When Clifford looked at her, he holds her hands. The moment he holds it he felt a strong current of emotion travelled through his arms straight to his heart. He didn"t know what happened but he"s so affected with his wife"s emotion that he"s teary eyed as well.
"Why am I such a cry baby, now? I"m never like this." she murmured.
"Hey, hey, hush now, love…" Clifford tried to coax her not to think yet of anything and he reached for her face and clear away some hairs that are covering part of her face.
How Clifford wished that he could easily clear away what his wife feels now. So he looked for some ways to make her smile.
"You"re so influential, do you know that?" he joked.
Ingrid sniffed. "Why?"
""Cause even if you just cry, you still know how to move me." Ingrid knew that her husband just want to ease her feelings, so she smiled.
"Of course! You may be the head but I am the neck. The head couldn"t move without the neck."
Her statement stunned Clifford and made him think for a fleeting moment. Nonchalantly, Clifford said something in response to his wife"s words.
"The head couldn"t move without the neck." He repeated. "Which means, the head and the neck should go together, because if they"d be cut off, they"ll eventually…"
"Die…"

John Howard was on his way to meet Clint and Helen to have a late breakfast with them, while Rose is still in their room having her morning routine. When he was about to take another step, he suddenly felt dizzy with a sharp pain in his chest, his breathing becomes short, and he"s starting to sweat.
Consequently, he stopped in his tracks to calm his breathing.
"No, not now, please." He started to panic. Then his eyes looked for something to lean his back on to.
The doctor strongly admonished him not to exert his body to too much work. No late night works and avoid stressful moments since they"re still weighing if he should undergo a surgery or not. He still needed more checkups to make certain of his condition.
In one of his doctor"s visits, John wanted to stop such hateful check-ups but his doctor, also his friend, threatened him that he will reveal it to his family. Fearing of the consequence, he agreed and the doctor made him realize the importance of it.
"John, you must do it if you want to restore your relationship with your daughter. She"ll be devastated and would blame herself if she knew this."
The doctor explained to him that one of the factors of the disease was the emotional stress. Which John confirmed that over the years, he"s been in agony and been angry with himself at the same time for not being strong enough to fight for his daughter.
Which prompted her to run away from them. He"s constantly blaming himself for everything that had happened. He felt so low for forcing his only daughter to get married with Lance which was against her wish.
"Is this the punishment of what I"ve done to my daughter?"
"Uncle John, what"s wrong with you? You look so pale?" John slowly opened his eyes when he heard Lance" voice.
"Lance,"
All of a sudden, the old man fall down and fortunately he fell to Lance arms which made the young man shocked. He froze and didn"t even feel the heavy weight of the old man.
"Uncle John! Uncle John!" Lance tapped the old man"s face but he"s motionless, his hands and head hang low.
"OH G.o.d! Somebody help me!" he shouted as loud as he could and didn"t care if the guests become aware of his shouting.
Orlie, on the other hand, just came back to work and his daughter was already discharged from the hospital and he left her at the care of his landlady who"s an old widow.
He"s so grateful to his employer despite that his daughter was a gate crasher they still extended their help. So he decided to get back to work immediately and swear to himself that he"ll be loyal to his employers no matter what.
While on his way to his post, Orlie heard a shout of help. At once, he looked where the voice comes from and when he saw them, he ran as fast as he could so that he could a.s.sist them.
To his utter shock, it"s his employers.
"Sir Lance. What happened to Master John?" he asked while he took the man from Lance.
"I don"t know, I only saw him leaning on the wall with closed eyes and he"s holding his left chest. I"ll call the ambulance first."
Fortunately, the resort has its own ambulance and is on standby twenty four seven which is one of the advantage of this resort, since they already antic.i.p.ate for some unavoidable medical emergencies that will occur in the resort.
Little did they know that the owner would be the first to use it.
