Clifford was on his way to the CEO"s office together with Gary, his personal a.s.sistant, when he saw Ingrid walking out from the elevator. But what struck him was the child she was holding."Sir, today"s schedule will be the following: at one o"clock you"ll be meeting with Miss Vanessa Reiley at the Guinevere Hotel and in the evening, you have a business dinner with Mr. Carlson regarding his proposal to invest in Veanco." The a.s.sistant continued his pace and did not notice that his boss stood still and was staring at two people.
"Is that Clark?"
He was so confused why the child is with Ingrid. His urging to go over them and ask Ingrid about their relationship slowly builds up. The boy was so adorable in his outfit and Ingrid is stunning as ever, whether she wore formal dress, an evening gown or just a laid back clothes. Everything she wears is just so right for her. She could pa.s.s for a model.
"Ahh Mr. Briggs?" his personal a.s.sistant caught his attention.
"What did you say?" he asked without looking his direction and lingered on the woman who pa.s.sed by not far away from them.
"I informed about your meeting with Miss Vanessa Reiley at one o" clock at Guinevere Hotel." Gary reiterated and thought what makes his boss so distracted.
For how many years he"s been working with him, he never witnessed even a second that he became so distracted until now. He was so curious to the reason that caught his attention. Gary looked at where he stared at.
He was caught in surprise when he saw a woman and a child. The woman seems familiar to him and he was thinking where she saw her. She was so sophisticated in the way she carry herself and the child with her was so adorable that he has an urged to squeeze his chubby cheeks.
The woman has a gentle expression every time she look to the child.
"Ahh, excuse me sir, are we still going to the office? Or should I go after the woman and the child?"
His boss came to his senses. He cleared his throat.
"We go as we have planned." Then they go directly to the CEO"s office.
His boss was noticeably in deep thought that even he would ask him anything he would just nod without saying anything. Gary urged to ask his boss who the woman and the child is. So he devised on how to catch his boss attention. Even he resolved that he will secretly investigate the woman and the child.
"The woman was seems so familiar. I just forgot where I"ve seen her." Gary muttered to himself.
"She"s Ingrid Howard, the EVP." His boss nonchalantly answered. His jaw dropped upon hearing the name.
"You mean the lady who is lucky enough to dance with you last night, sir?" Clifford furrowed his brows.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Haven"t you heard the news sir? You are in the headlines, also trending in the internet. Here take a look." Gary showed him the articles and the pictures that involved him and the woman.
He saw how intimate they were in the picture last night, the photographer zoomed the part where he looked at the woman capturing the warmth in his eyes. Another picture showed the moment where Ingrid wriggled from him and also captured where he caught her again and the surprise in her eyes was perfectly captured as if they shoot for a picture for a movie.
Different t.i.tles of the article where scattered in the internet. He read the some of its t.i.tles such as "Is love blossoming with the CEO and the EVP?" another article ent.i.tled "Is she the future Madam of Briggs Group of Companies?"
Most of the time if his boss would be linked to some random ladies, he would automatically order it to be removed and file a case to the people involved in the article. However,
"What should we do about it, sir? Should I call our team to remove and file a case against them?" his boss just ignored his question.
"It"s the least of our concern for now. Let"s get back to work." But Clifford"s thoughts still lingered on the woman and the child. He could take his thought off them.
"What relationship do Ingrid and the child have? Are they related to each other? A friend"s child perhaps?" he was in deep thought that he could not understand what he was reading.
