Though in his a.s.sistant"s perspective he was busy reading the doc.u.ments while flipping it randomly. But what surprise him was that the doc.u.ment was in overturned."Now that"s noteworthy." He mused. "I"ll definitely investigate the woman, what"s with her that my boss is so affected by merely seeing her."
"Excuse me, boss, it"s almost lunch time, where would you like to eat? Or should I order your preferred lunch?" his boss touched his chin.
"Let"s just go to the hotel and prepare for the meeting. And also brief regarding this Miss Reiley." He then stood up and went directly out directly. The poor a.s.sistant was caught in surprise on his boss sudden change of plans.
....
"Mom, where are we going now?" Clark inquired.
"We are going to Guinevere Hotel and meet them, and Aunt Liane will also be there. Are you excited?" Ingrid smiled.
"Yes, I am. But I am so curious who are they, mom. Will they like me, too?"
"Ohh Clark, of course they will. Anyone who meets you will love you automatically, no doubt." His son grinned that caught her by surprise, again those smile, those eyes are so vaguely familiar.
But as usual, she just shrugged it off. She will not allow it to ruin her mood. Twenty minutes pa.s.s and they reached the hotel. The staffs of the hotel warmly welcome them and ushered them to the where the Howards" table.
The couple was busy chatting with Lance while eating their lunch. The restaurant seemed to have lots of diners this time. She scanned the surrounding suspecting that Clifford is around. To her relief, he is nowhere in sight. So she confidently strides to where her parents and Lance sat.
"h.e.l.lo Dad, h.e.l.lo Mam, Mr. McNaught..." and she all greeted them with a kiss. While Clark stood still behind her waiting for her to introduce him to the people.
"Where is he?" her father asked.
"Clark?" she called her son, "... I want you to meet my father, you call him grandpa John, and my mother, you call her grandma Rose." His little head pop out from behind her.
Her parents gasp the moment they saw the child. His father was teary eyed when he saw his grandson.
"Come here my boy," his voice quaked. The child without hesitation went to his grandpa"s place and sit on his lap.
The child kissed him on the cheek.
"It"s nice meeting you, grandpa," he said smiling sweetly.
"Ohhh, what a sweet boy your son is, Ingrid." Her mother kissed the child"s cheeks.
"You are so lovely, grandma Rose." Her mother was in tears when the child said it.
Lance stood up and took a seat for her near him.
"Thank you, Mr. McNaught."
"Just call me, Lance, and if you don"t mind can I call you in your name, Ingrid? It"s a lovely name."
"Ahh yes, L-Lance, I don"t mind." She smiled faintly while the man was all smiles to her and his eyes filled with warmth.
"Clark, meet Lance McNaught, a family friend."
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Lance." Lance extended his hand to shake hands with the child.
"The pleasure"s mine, Clark. Can you call me uncle Lance?" the child look at his mother first to ask for permission and she nodded.
"Yes, uncle Lance."
If you look at them, they seem to be a small family having lunch together intimately. Ingrid noticed that the women keep on glancing at Lance and would often blush if she caught them staring at him. She chuckled within her and she shake her head then stole a short glance at Lance.
His eyes were tantalizing in its brownish color, his lips is naturally curved that makes him to appear as approachable and friendly. He has an oval-shaped face and he has a wavy hair. He has this appearance of being gentle and serene, which is rare in a man"s character nowadays. She also noticed that he is a natural gentleman, well-bred and showed control over his emotion.
She feels at ease when he is around, as if she knew him from childhood.
....
Clifford just arrived at the Guinevere Hotel and went directly to the restaurant of the hotel, to meet with his appointment. He saw a woman in her twenties, wearing a black blazer matching with a s.e.xy top and a pencil cut skirt and a black pumps. She is beautiful and she look gentle but firm at the same time.
He walked to her and then she greeted her. The woman stood up and shook hands with him.
"Mr. Briggs, nice meeting you." She said wearing a lovely smile.
Ingrid saw Clifford entered the restaurant and went over to a beautiful lady.
