Lucky Unluckiest

Chapter 3

LOGAN

I rushed to the washroom, acknowledging the fact that she was following me. I didn"t really want to go to washroom to actually use it; I just went there to take a deep breath. And maybe to prepare myself for this.

I don"t want to help her out. That"s out of my comfort zone. I mean I don"t know what to say or how to help her out. I have never helped anyone before. n.o.body has ever asked for help before, except for the pictures of course. But this is different. Like giving her my time, explaining, I can"t even imagine doing that

She must be thinking I am being rude or I don"t like her. Its not like I don"t like her, but my facial expression probably suggests otherwise. When people see me, they instantly think I dislike them, and so they judge me. How could I even dislike her when we don"t even know each other? Wait, I can do one thing. I can give my a.s.signments to copy...But it isn"t allowed and I don"t want to do that.

I really don"t want to waste my time on her. I don"t want give her my time Come on. I stared at myself in the mirror and asked myself; wait a minute, why am I even scared of that girl? Wait, am I really scared of her? No way. It"s just I don"t like spending time with anyone other than Liam. I"d be clueless in front of her and have no idea what to say.

I finally gathered up my guts and walked outside and as I expected, Sophia was waiting for me. I could see her back and it looked as if she was texting someone. Should I turn my back and walk away? Is this my chance? No way. Be a man.

"Let"s go." I said as I walked pa.s.sed her. She seemed surprised at first but then settled, soon following me to the library. I looked for a table to sit at while she was busy with her phone. I felt annoyed at the fact that she buried her face into her phone rather then finding a good spot at library.I moved to a table where I could barely see anyone. It was just me and her. Hope this goes well.

We sat down. She put her phone in her backpack and just stared me. I didn"t know where to start so I took out my own a.s.signment and put it down on the table. "This is the a.s.signment miss Melanie was talking about," She seemed to be listening attentively and she nodded.. "I am not done with it but it"s almost completed" I added.

I continued explaining the a.s.signment to her, her eyes following my directions and her head kept nodding, indicating she understood. Wow, she was actually listening to me. I was explaining the second part of the a.s.signments when I felt hungry. So hungry I could eat all the food in the cafeteria. Or maybe my nervousness made me hungrier...

So, I said "Let"s eat something first."

"Yeah sure, why not." She smiled.

SOPHIA

We went to cafeteria and grabbed our lunch. We, then, found a clear table, took a seat and ate in silence. It"s not like I thought he"d suddenly start up a friendly conversation with a stranger like me, but I didn"t expected a guy to be this quiet; he didn"t even utter a single word while eating. He isn"t even looking around as if it"s only him and his tray over here.

Maybe that"s just the way he is, always quiet serious and hushed. Where do you find guys this quiet? Or maybe he just doesn"t want to talk to me. I looked at him. To me, he look respectful, hungry and maybe a little... likeable?

He finished his meal, as while I was still eating. He didn"t say a word even after he finished eating. Not even something like "how long are you going to take." But instead he sat in front of me like a statue. After a moment he took out his phone and started using it.

Not being able to take the deafening silence between us anymore, so I decided to hammer the wall of silence between us, "So... I think the a.s.signment is not as difficult as I thought it would be."

He looked up to me.

"Yeah it"s about the concept actually. If you get what they are trying to ask you, it gets easier with the answers." He simply stated.

"Yeahh." I dragged on.

He smiled a little and, to be one hundred percent honest, it was worth watching. He should really do that more. I don"t know him at all but his smile really is something else.

And that was the end of the conversation.

"I am done." I said as I stood up, feeling a little awkward.

He looked at me with confusion, "Done with what?" He asked.

I hesitated for some reason, "D...D...Done eating. Let"s continue with my a.s.signment." I finished with a smile on my face, but he didn"t smile back. Instead he got up and started walking towards the library. How could he do that? Come on, I was just trying to be nice with him and a kind person always smiles back! Maybe something is wrong with him...Forget it.

I followed him to the library and we found a quiet place to work. We sat down and got our things in order.

For some bizarre reason, my mind wondered off to wondering if he had a girlfriend. And if so, then how was she able to handle such a moody person. If he has a girlfriend, I really want to meet her; no doubt she"d be an amazingly patient woman.

He looked like he was about to say something, but I interrupted him, curiosity getting the better of me yet again, "Do you have a girlfriend?"

His eyes almost literally popped out of its sockets, "WHAT!? ME? NO!" He seemed to have realized how he had jumped up from where he was seated, in the middle of the library, and how people were now glaring daggers at us, seeing as he regained his posture and became more reserves and quiet, "No, I don"t."

"Okay okay. Calm down." I said, giggling a little. To say that he was bewildered would"ve been an understatement.

Seeing as how he was now, I didn"t expect him to be alone. He looks like he has had been here since the beginning of college since he"s aware of all the places here. Well he looks like one of the cool dudes in the movies w

Still, I wonder why. Well, it doesn"t matter much, so never mind.
