Debra looks at her sister with tears in her eyes. Wishing that their parents could be here to see her on her wedding day. Aisling looks more beautiful than she has ever seen her before. Maureen fixed Aisling"s hair in the morning fixing the tiara in place, she looks like a princess in every way. She asked both uncles to give her away, Debra is her maid of honor,Salali along with a few other cousins are her brides maids. Astila has Inola for his best man. Sam a few of Astila"s military friends for his groomsmen. They all are dressed in vintage 18th century clothes. The church is decorated in dried flowers and fresh evergreens. With candles lining every window . Aisling is standing just outside the church door waiting for it to open. Steve takes her hand he can tell she is nervous. "Aisling you ok ? You know if your not sure we can stop. " she pokes him in the side playfully
"I"m sure about Astila , I"m just not sure about being in front of everyone." John grins at both of them
"Now you both know how I feel every church service. Though I think I"m more nervous today than any other time. Did you really have to have me do both? Give you away and preform the ceremony." He bends down to kiss her cheek.
"You look beautiful by the way your parents would be so proud of you;Just as we are. "
The wedding march begins, and Everyone stands to look at the back of the church. The doors open and with the sun shining behind Aisling . It"s rays sparkling off the tiara making her look like an angel walking into the room. They slowly make their way towards Astila.
Aisling eyes meet his and the rest of the world melted away. Anyone looking at them could not doubt how much in love they are. They look mesmerized by each other ,not even noticing when the uncles placed her hand in his. The music stops and John begins to speak.
"Today we gather together to celebrate the union between Astila and Aisling. Her uncle and I give her to him in her parents stead. " he kissed Aisling"s cheek and walks to start the ceremony.
"Marriage is not just about being in love. It is also about accepting the good and the not so good sides of your partner. It"s about working together for common goals and to support each other"s endeavors. Though the two of them have not known each other for very long .They have shown that they are more than willing to do just that. They have decided to write their own vows." John motions to Astila to start.
"Aisling the day I met you is the day my life had purpose. When I drove up your driveway I never expected to find my soulmate. I am so thankful I followed the signs the universe was sending me to you. You are my life ,my love and the very reason my heart beats. Without your radiance and warmth , I would still be just a frozen heart of a man . I love you and I promise to always love and support you. I promise to give you all that I am from now to eternity."
Aisling has tears of joy spilling down her cheeks. Wiping her face she smiles.
" Astila I am the luckiest woman in the universe for having met you. The moment you stepped out of your car I was awestruck by you. My heart fluttered and my stomach did a flip. I had never felt that way before except once . That was when you saved me from the snakes when I was just fourteen. Though I didn"t know that was you at the time. You make me catch my breath each time I see you . My heart races and all I can think about is my man is amazingly handsome. I promise to love you and support you in all things. I promise that I will do everything within my power to make you the happiest man in the universe from now to eternity."
The church erupted in laughter with Aisling"s vows. Very few knew she could have such a sense of humor. John motions to Inola and Debra to hand them their rings.
"Now repeat after me.
With this ring I promise to love , honor and cherish Aisling as my wife I thee wed." Astila repeats after John placing the wedding band next to the claddagh ring from their hand fasting.
"Now Aisling repeat after me.
With this ring I promise to love, honor and cherish Astila as my husband I thee wed." Aisling repeats and places the ring on his hand next to his claddagh ring.
"By the power vested in me by the state of West Virginia and the Heavenly Father above I now p.r.o.nounce you husband and wife. What G.o.d has put together let no man lay a sunder. You may kiss your bride." With that Astila pulls Aisling into his arms and kisses her deeply not caring that several hundred people are watching. The church erupts into cheering and celebration. John clears his throat to remind them that they are not alone. They turn towards him holding hands.
"For the first time may I introduce to all Mr.and Mrs. Astila People. "
Astila and Aisling turn to walk down the aisle together as husband and wife. Everyone congratulating them as they go. The door is opened and they step out to find a white carriage decorated as the church drawn by two thoroughbred white horses. Astila helps her into the carriage and they begin their marriage journey.
"So Mrs. People how does it feel to be truly married?" She smiles at him mischievously
"You know we"re not truly married until our marriage is consummated. " leaning into him she kisses him with all of her love.
"You know we are not alone. As much as I want nothing more than to love you till you are exhausted. I do not want to embarra.s.s our driver or those who are following us."
