She wrapped her arms around his neck and looked into his eyes. She saw all she ever wanted, hope, love, need and affection. "You can never be too late."

He kissed her then. His lips were firm and gentle as he pulled her in, burning her lips with his mouth until everything left her brain but this moment.

"Your ex stopped by your apartment," he said when they finally broke for air. "Are you sure that"s over?"

Lily frowned. "I will talk to him again."

"Are you sure that"s over?"

She ran a finger over the scar on his brow. "I"ve learn from my relationship with Nate, but I let go of him a long time ago. It"s about you. Us." She looked down at her belly. "And our baby."

Adam grinned. "I get to see him today."

"Or her."

He laughed. "It doesn"t matter." He leaned down and kissed her, then ran the pad of his thumb over her temple, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "We should get married soon."

"Like how soon?"

He seemed to think about it for a beat then shrugged. "I don"t care. Tomorrow if you want."

"We can"t do that. Your parents would be so disappointed."

He chuckled. "Okay, how about this weekend? I can have them back in the States by tomorrow night."

She looked at him. "You"re serious."

"Very serious."

"No regrets."

He looked her over. "I should ask you that."

Heart filled with joy and fluttering like a zoo, she tugged down the man she was going to marry on top of her and kissed him hard. "No regrets. And yes, I"ll marry you whenever you want, Adam Aquilani. But you should ask me first. I don"t even have an engagement ring."

After one more lingering kiss, Adam reached in his jeans pocket and produced the ring he once put on her finger. His expression turned serious, very serious. "Before I ask, I should tell you I am going to start going to counseling in Boston once a week for a couple of months. It will help me deal."

Her heart swelled. She touched his face, loving the feel of his skin. "What about prescriptions?"

He shook his head. "No meds. I sleep now, but I still need to accept some things."

She nodded, understanding the guilt he carried in his heart. "Anything else?" she asked after a beat.

"That"s it."

Her brows went up. "I still don"t have my ring."

He chuckled, then dropped to a knee. His expression once again grew very serious. "Liliana Serrano, will you marry me and give me forever?"

Her heart kicked hard. The emotions she felt on the beach when Adam first proposed took washed over her once more. She leaned into him, slipped and nearly fell on top of Adam. His arms automatically circled her waist, holding her close.

"Don"t fall."

She leaned into him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Too late, I"ve already fallen."

He held her gaze. "Is that a yes?"

She smiled. "A big, loud yes."

"The ring stays on forever, Liliana, no matter what. Promise me you will never take it off."

"You have me, Adam." She leaned into him and lightly brushed her mouth on his. "For a lifetime."

His mouth captured hers, soothing every ache in her heart and soul. She wrapped her arms tight around his neck. And it felt good. It felt right.
