Chapter 563: The Red Sun Corp Attacks!
Of course, the forty-seven families that were working together with Qin Feng were also congratulating Qin Feng.
Suddenly, Qin Feng’s communicator started vibrating. He quickly took a look at the message on it before pulling a long face.
This was the first time Qin Feng showed his furious side like this. The people around him could feel a terrifying conscious energy pouring out of him.
It was obvious Qin Feng was p.i.s.sed!
“My apologies, everyone. I have something to attend to. Please, do enjoy yourself!”
After excusing himself, Qin Feng walked out of the feast and called Bai Li. And then, in front of everyone, Qin Feng activated the spatial runes and teleported away!
Qin Feng headed straight back to Fengli in one leap! He went back to Fengli without considering if he would offend any of those powerful people in Dragon Capital.
The spatial runes were coordinated beforehand; it was not really a secret technique or anything so it was not a big deal in showing it in front of so many people. The runes’ main purpose was to send Qin Feng straight back to Fengli in one jump.
“Let’s go!”
Qin Feng did not bring Bai Li with him because there was no need to. When Fengli was founded, the higher floors were designated as residential areas—which meant it had the best defense system in the city.
“Beep Beep Beep!”
His communicator started to beep.
Qin Feng quickly accepted the call.
“I’m back. How’s the situation?” Qin Feng tried his d.a.m.ndest to calm down on the call. It felt as though a tsunami was about to strike from his tone of voice.
“I’m currently monitoring the situation. So far, there are no more casualties.”
“Good!”
Qin Feng immediately hung up as dark runes enveloped his body and Bai Li, who had warped to Fengli on her own.
Atop of his ceiling, Xue Xingfu was paying close attention to the monitor at the Control Center. Although he knew that Qin Feng was back, he did not waste any time to find him. Despite the immensely high-tech that the Floating City had, it still could not detect where Qin Feng was. Well, it was understandable. If the Floating City could detect him, it would not have been taken over by Qin Feng so quickly back then.
Right now, he had something more important to do—to find and lock onto the incoming enemies so that he could fire away the city’s weaponry when Qin Feng gave the order.
He was paying extra care in searching for the enemies because he did not want to harm the friendlies.
After merging with the shadows, Qin Feng moved swiftly. In no time, he had arrived at w.a.n.g Chen’s home.
This villa was quite huge. Naturally, there should be a lot of guards too. However, right now, the main entrance was littered with the guards’ corpses. The ones who did this did not even bother to hide the bodies or erase the evidence, leaving the gate wide open.
Qin Feng quickly rushed into the villa.
Meanwhile, w.a.n.g Chen was suppressed on the floor. He was a capable gunner. Yet, he was pinned to the floor before he was able to flip out his guns.
This was all possible because the foe was a C-tier apt.i.tude user—Tian Yan from the Red Sun Corp!
After travelling for several days, he had finally reached Fengli City. Having bribed some people on the inside, he was able to uncover some crucial intel. And from these intel, Tian Yan chose w.a.n.g Chen as his first target.
Of course, the reason w.a.n.g Chen was targeted was all due to that certain someone who accepted the bribe.
“Zhao Xiang, you son of a b.i.t.c.h! If it weren’t for the president, you would have died at Han Town! And yet, you dare to betray Fengli City now?! So you think you can just betray us after gaining some power, huh? What an ungrateful mongrel!”
w.a.n.g Chen cursed at the traitor loudly.
Zhao Xiang was one of the youngsters who Qin Feng had brought with him from Han Town. At first, he was quite indecisive but still got recommended by Qin Feng to be a general of Fengli colony’s outer defense army.
Yet now, he had betrayed Qin Feng!
It was not because he did not know just how much potential Qin Feng had—he was merely dissatisfied with his current position.
“w.a.n.g Chen, the h.e.l.l are you talking about? When I first came to Fengli, I worked my a.s.s off. I worked the hardest and yet got the least benefit. You got all the favourite treatment at the colony while I am risking my hide defending out there! Has anyone asked me how I feel about that?!”
It took only one year for the lively young man to change.
“And now, after arriving at Fengli City, all of you have great reputation, position and wealth. As for me? I only get to be a lowly commander of a squad? I don’t even get to be in any position with actual power and influence!”
Zhao Xiang was quite mad at Fengli City. It took him a year to ascend to E3-tier from F-tier.
w.a.n.g Chen knew Zhao Xiang was irrational, magnifying the minor issues. Now, every small problem was a huge one in Zhao Xiang’s eyes.
At first, Zhao Xiang was just an F-tier. He was quite weak. As such, after being recommended to be a general, he felt as though he had chosen a wise, good ruler. He always said to w.a.n.g Chen that he was thankful for his luck in meeting such a good ruler.
However, right now Zhao Xiang treated all those “benefits” as reasons for his betrayal.
What a joke!
“You’re an apt.i.tude user. If you want more authority, just keep improving yourself and become more powerful. Now you’re blaming everyone for not giving you a good position despite being so weak?!”
“Bullsh*t! If I have the same talent as you, I would work hard too. Yet, I’m not as gifted. Hard work pays? Pfft! Only fools would believe this!” Zhao Xiang roared out furiously at w.a.n.g Chen.
It was true though.
Apt.i.tude users would be powerful only if they were born gifted. If not, all they could hope for was good luck and opportunities.
The unlucky ones would not be able to climb higher no matter how hard they work. Hard work would only pay off if they were lucky enough to be on the right path.
As such, not every hard worker had their efforts paid off.
“Then, you can scram! Open your stupid eyes and take a good look at me! Do I look like someone who’s born with a talent? And yet, I’ve climbed all the way here. If all you want to do is complain, then you can scram! What a weakling! A coward! All you know is to enjoy life and nothing else!” w.a.n.g Chen bellowed at Zhao Xiang angrily.
“Oh, I will kill you! Do you think I don’t have it in me to kill you?!”
After seeing the two men exchanging heated words, Tian Yan had reached the limit of his patience.
“Shut the h.e.l.l up!!”
The sheer force of conscious energy of a C-tier ancient warrior overwhelmed the E-tier ancient warrior and D1-tier gunner in mere seconds. The pressure was so powerful that w.a.n.g Chen found it difficult to breathe.
“So, you’re w.a.n.g Chen? I give you one chance to live. Give me the BattleG.o.d Token and be my guide in the BattleG.o.d Shrine. If you refuse, I’ll kill you.”
Zhao Xiang said, “Mr Tian, this w.a.n.g Chen has a foul mouth. Let’s just kill him and be done with it. If you want a guide, I have a better candidate. That little wh*re Liu Jing is the right one for the job. Or, if you want, we could even get Xue Xingfu. That little brat is the Vice-governor of the city!”
Tian Yan frowned after hearing this. It was quite apparent that he too was annoyed by what Zhao Xiang had suggested. To him, killing someone was as easy as lifting a finger. However, if he could not complete his goal in a short time, this would trouble him a great deal.
Right now, he came to w.a.n.g Chen not because he was the best person to be a guide in the BattleG.o.d Shrine but because Zhao Xiang had a personal vendetta against w.a.n.g Chen.
After realizing this, Tian Yan felt as though he was being used as a tool.
“Shut up!”
Tian Yan scolded Zhao Xiang before facing w.a.n.g Chen again, this time with a much more powerful, forceful tone, “If you don’t want more people dying in your Fengli City, I suggest you do as I say. Don’t play dumb with me. No tricks. No games. Stalling me will do you no good. And if you think your friends from the Floating City would attack me then you’re wrong. I’m standing right next to you right now. So, if they open fire, you’ll die too.”
An enraged expression crept onto w.a.n.g Chen’s face.
It was quite obvious now that this C-tier apt.i.tude user knew the real reason behind him bantering with Zhao Xiang.
