MIMI

Chapter 38

"Ms. Ming," Eli coughs lightly. "I reasonably a.s.sure you there are no such things as ghosts."

Jinny with her round cheeks and childlike appearance, brown eyes shone radiantly but quickly narrowed upon hearing Eli"s words.

"How do you genuinely know that?" She puffed out her plump cheeks. "For all, we know there could be ghosts all around this room!"

"Ms. Ming…" Eli sighs gently.

Just as he was about to speak, Mimi, who had been seated in her chair observing the scene unfold, stands up to walk towards the side.

"I"m telling you, Senior Su, I saw her!" Jinny grips onto the woman"s sleeve jacket. "She was a young girl with…eek--!"

Instantly releasing a startled squeak, Jinny hastily hides behind the tall woman known precisely as Senior Su"s back.

"T-That"s the ghost!" Jinny"s quivering voice could be naturally heard from behind Senior Su.

"This is the ghost?" Senior Su pointed towards Mimi with thinly raised brows.

Nodding her head frantically, Jinny continues to clutch tightly onto the attractive woman"s elegant clothes.

Senior Su subtly shifts her intent gaze towards Mimi with a sufficient hint of genuine surprise.

The young girl wore a tight sleeveless black leather top and a red plaid skirt. Her red lipstick stuck out the most against her pale skin and dark overshadowed attractive eyes.

Long strands of brown silky hair fell gently in front of her striking face perfectly shadowing her dazzling violet eyes.

She was precisely the cla.s.sic definition of a ghost…

However, the girl before her wasn"t a ghost. If anything she was undoubtedly just a teenage girl.

Far from being dead.

"You say I"m a ghost?" The young girl"s angelic voice disturbed the awed silence.

Jinny who was hiding behind Senior Su pokes her graceful head out and instantly seizes Mimi"s distinctive appearance.

"Yes! How could you not be one!" She justly claims.

Everyone around her sighed hopelessly. Was she so dense she hadn"t noticed everyone else could see her?

"Alright," The girl said with a vacant expression. But a possible hint of mischievousness flashed before her hidden eyes. "Then if you sincerely wish for me to go away, you must faithfully fulfill my specific needs so I can move on from this world."

With flashing intense eyes, Jinny stared at Mimi with fascinated horror.

"Definitely! What is it that you wish for me to fulfill?"

Gently tapping her chin with her slender finger, the girl hums as if in deep thought.

"I demand you to buy me every meal in the cafeteria," She said graciously with a deadpan expression clearly showing how serious she was.

Once again everyone appeared silent.

This girl...wasn"t she just that tad bit shameless?

Mimi would snort if she naturally heard their thoughts.

So what if she was shameless?

Didn"t matter to her. If she"d obtain something that was beneficial to her, she"d gladly be shameless for a living.

Heeding her brazen words, Jinny stared at "ghost girl" with wide eyes - her jaw slight hung open.

"T-That"s it? No naturally seeking eternal peace with any loved ones?" Jinny stuttered.

Tilting her graceful head to the side, light strands of flowing hair fell gently from her face.

"Why would I do such a possible thing when I can eat once more?" She asked matter of factly. "As a ghost, I don"t get any delicious meals anymore. Therefore eating would benefit me much better."

Eli, Jinny, Senior Su and the rest of the observing employees all stared at Mimi in disbelief.

A scary ghost definitely wasn"t the right label for her...

If anything a shameless gluttonous ghost comfortably fit her description perfectly.

Finally, instantly thinking enough considerable time was wasted, Eli clears his throat before looking at Mimi.

"Mimi, I think that"s enough no need to play along anymore," He coughs.

"Hmm? Who said I was playing along?" She said with a puzzled expression.

Breaking out into fits of coughs, Eli considers her words to be extremely...intriguing!
