Chapter 1604 - 1604 Name List Confirmation
1604 Name List Confirmation
Lu Xia scoffed without the slightest warmth on her face. “Why? Are you scared now that you know about this?”
“Nope. We just don’t dare to touch the Min family.” The man did not lose his temper when Lu Xia spoke to him sarcastically.
The previous men she had sent inexplicably went missing or nearly exposed her ident.i.ty. She could not help feeling frustrated.
In hindsight, Lu Xia was not careful enough. She knew that Huo Yao and Min Yu were very close, but she remained hopeful that she might get lucky and succeed in bringing Huo Yao over.
Now, Huo Yao was walking straight into her territory on her own. Lu Xia smiled just thinking about it. She disregarded the reason why Huo Yao would be sent to attend the conference. She simply said into the phone, “Since you don’t have the b.a.l.l.s to do it, then this a.s.signment is over.”
!!
The moment she finished her sentence, she hung up without waiting for an answer.
Since Huo Yao had come to her on her own, no one could blame Lu Xia for moving in on Huo Yao.
Lu Xia smiled coldly as she went back into the dormitory.
Mo Lin sat where she was playing with her phone. Lu Xia pondered briefly before she walked over. “Lin, weren’t you talking about all the people visiting the school? Shall we go take a look?”
She had to check if Huo Yao was on the name list for attending the conference.
Mo Lin felt puzzled by Lu Xia’s sudden interest in the matter. Since she had nothing to do, she nodded. “Okay then. Let’s go.”
“Uh huh.”
Lu Xia retrieved a coat from the cabinet and put it on. Before long, Lu Xia and Mo Lin reached the dormitory block.
The conference was being held in one of Sirin University’s lecture theaters, one which was big enough to accommodate 1000 people. However, Lu Xia did not go there. Instead, Lu Xia and Mo Lin walked to the administrative block.
Qiao En had asked her to help receive their guests, so it made sense for her to go to the administrative office to obtain a name list for the conference partic.i.p.ants.
Lu Xia photocopied the name list and left the administrative office.
After going downstairs, she held the list and studied it.
Mo Lin asked her quizzically. “Who are you looking for?”
Lu Xia did not answer Mo Lin. She quickly went through the names on the list. Sure enough, she spotted Huo Yao’s name before long.
Lu Xia suddenly tightened her fists looking at the name.
Her teacher was the esteemed Prof Qiao, but she could only help out at the conference.
What gave Huo Yao the right to take part in it?
The last time, Huo Yao wrote an article in a renowned journal. Now, she was sent to attend an academic conference. It seemed impossible to avoid her and was simply annoying.
Lu Xia’s eyes were filled with jealousy.
Mo Lin inadvertently caught the look on Lu Xia’s face and felt startled. She always thought Lu Xia was a diligent and kind girl. She had never seen Lu Xia look this way.
She seemed a little sinister.
Lu Xia could sense Mo Lin looking at her. She lowered her eyes and raised her head to look back at Mo Lin. “I just wanted to see if there was anyone I knew.”
Mo Lin blinked and looked at Lu Xia. The sinister look on Lu Xia’s face was gone. Perhaps it was just her imagination.
Lu Xia calmly folded the name list and placed it in her pocket. “Prof Qiao wants to speak to me, so I have to go.”
Mo Lin snapped out of her thoughts and hurriedly nodded. “Sure thing. Go ahead.”
Lu Xia nodded before walking to the laboratory block.
Mo Lin watched from behind as Lu Xia left. She touched her nose sheepishly. Something must be wrong with her eyes for thinking there was a sinister look on Lu Xia’s face.
