Chapter 631: Curiosity Killed The Cat
Huo Yulin had heard quite a bit from his parents recently about his little sister. Also, there were a few compet.i.tion certificates hanging around in their house, so he knew that she had good grades.
“Are you going to Tsing University after taking your entrance exam?” asked Huo Yulin.
Huo Yao nodded before she said proudly, “I have guaranteed placement.”
Huo Yulin smiled as he looked at the confident look on his little sister’s face. He stood up and walked over to place his hand on her head before rubbing it. “You’re brilliant!”
Huo Yao went speechless. It was the Nth time he was touching her head.
She had not seen this coming.
Huo Yulin pulled his hand back and said, “By the time you are ready to enroll in university, I should be going to the capital as well. We can go together.”
Huo Yao was surprised to hear this. “Are you going to work in the capital?”
“Probably.” Huo Yulin nodded his head.
Huo Yulin was in touch with his college junior who was working at the research inst.i.tute in the capital. He kept inviting Huo Yulin to join him at the research inst.i.tute, but Huo Yulin had always refused him.
Huo Yulin had no plans to return home at that point in time, but now…
Huo Yulin glanced at Huo Yao. Since his little sister was going to university in the capital, then he felt working at the research inst.i.tute was a good option.
Huo Yao nodded. Her third older brother had won several internationally acclaimed awards. Also, he was a research fanatic. It was naturally a waste for a talent like him to work at some ordinary hospital.
The research inst.i.tute was a good choice for him.
“Oh yes. I will continue performing acupuncture on you tonight.” Huo Yao changed the subject of the conversation.
She wanted to try giving him psychological therapy as well.
Huo Yulin did not turn down her offer. After having a taste of quality sleep the previous night, he felt afraid of insomnia and did not want to be sleepless ever again.
*
Huo Yao finished her homework after dinner and went over to Huo Yulin’s room with a box. The door was partially open when she got there.
Huo Tingrui was in his room and they were in the middle of a conversation. She heard them mention Lu Xia.
Huo Yao stood at the door with her hand frozen in midair. She did not knock on the door right away.
Her brothers were standing sideways from the door, so they quickly spotted Huo Yao.
Huo Tingrui composed his thoughts. He adjusted his gla.s.ses before he beamed and asked. “Are you looking for me?”
Huo Yulin glanced at him. “She is here to see me.”
The moment Huo Tingrui heard this, he could sense Huo Yulin becoming a potential compet.i.tion for Huo Yao’s attention.
“Am I interrupting?” asked Huo Yao nonchalantly as she put down her hand.
“Nope. We were just chatting randomly,” said Huo Yulin.
He glanced at the box in his little sister’s hand. “Are you going to perform acupuncture on me now?”
“If you are done,” replied Huo Yao.
Huo Yulin glanced at Huo Tingrui before he said, “Yes, we’re done.”
Huo Yao acknowledged softly before entering the room with the box. She placed the box on the table, pressed the lock and it instantly opened.
Huo Tingrui walked up to her side and saw what she was doing. He glanced at the metal box and said rather curiously, “This box sure looks cool.”
He reached his hand out to touch the box, but Huo Yao smacked his hand while it was still in midair.
“Curiosity killed the cat.”
Huo Tingrui pulled his hand back sheepishly. “I am your second older brother and not a cat. Would it kill for me to have a look?”
Huo Yao retrieved a long needle from it. The long fine needle glowed softly and gave off an inexplicably dangerous aura.
Huo Tingrui quietly inched to the side.
