Chapter 659: Should Have Investigated The Huo Family More Deeply
Meanwhile, on the other end, Wu Miao kept checking social media.
Ever since Huo Yao’s story was divulged online, everyone kept scolding her online, so Wu Miao could not help feeling happy.
However, public opinion changed vastly ten minutes ago when an unknown lawyer suddenly made a post online.
The gloat on Wu Miao’s face disappeared as she frowned and contemplated the matter.
“How’s the situation online?” asked Shen Si as she looked at her nail varnish.
Wu Miao kept looking at her phone screen. “It doesn’t look good.”
Shen Si’s hand hovered in the air as she raised her head to look at her cousin.
“A lawyer suddenly appeared out of nowhere claiming to be Lucky and Huo Yao’s older brother. He made a post about suing the culprit who released Huo Yao’s personal information,” said Wu Miao.
Shen Si scoffed the moment she heard this. “It is just hype marketing. Do you really think they can find out who did it?”
Marketing teams did this all the time in the entertainment industry, but no one actually put in the time and money to get it done.
Shen Si knew this tactic well.
Wu Miao shook her head. “It doesn’t look like a marketing tactic to me. This lawyer seems to be very famous and well connected. A few major corporations in the country have already shown their support through their official social media accounts to the post.”
Shen Si narrowed her eyes. “Let me see.”
Wu Miao handed her phone to Shen Si. She could not help feeling fl.u.s.tered when she saw the change in public opinion online.
“Huo Tingrui?” Shen Si frowned. This name sounded familiar.
Shen Si pondered before returning the phone to Wu Miao. She took her phone and called her talent agent.
The call got through before long. The moment Shen Si asked about the lawyer, her talent agent was startled. “Why are you asking about him?”
Shen Si just knew her talent agent had heard about the lawyer before and asked. “I’m just asking. Is he a very famous lawyer?”
The talent agent went quiet briefly before she replied. “He isn’t just some random famous lawyer. He is highly recognized. He has never lost a case in his life. Anyone who crosses him in the legal arena is in big trouble.”
Shen Si was caught by surprise. “Is he that good?”
“Definitely. He is the best lawyer in the industry. He is also the legal consultant for a lot of major businesses in the country. Why are you asking about him?”
The talent agent paused as the thought crossed her mind before she asked. “Does Lucky and his sister’s online incident have anything to do with you?”
Shen Si automatically said, “Of course not. I am not even close to them.”
The talent agent heaved a sigh of relief to hear this. “Perfect. I always wondered how Lucky managed to do such a good job with his privacy and never had any scandal before. It turned out Huo Tingrui is his older brother. I wonder who was stupid enough to stir all that s.h.i.+t online. Who do they think Lucky is? How could they have the guts to touch the wrong guy?”
Shen Si was not in the mood to continue listening to her talent agent.
She hung up the phone and went into a daze. She did not expect Lucky and his little sister to have such a famous lawyer as their older brother.
If she knew things would turn out this way, she would have investigated the Huo family more thoroughly when she was checking up on Lu Xia. She should not have stopped when she found out that the Huo family was just bourgeoisie.
Wu Miao noticed something amiss with her cousin, so she called out cautiously. “Si?”
