Chapter 1541 - 1541 Nothing But Trouble
1541 Nothing But Trouble
Ji Ya detected her mother looking at something, so she automatically looked at Song Qi. The moment she caught the cold look on her mother’s face, she was taken aback. “Mom, are you okay?”
After some time, Song Qi finally stopped thinking about the things that had happened last year. She caught the puzzled look on her daughter’s face and quickly composed herself, but something was clearly wrong with Song Qi.
“Do you know the girl?” asked Song Qi.
Ji Ya nodded quizzically before shaking her head. “I know her, but not very well. We just met a few times previously.”
!!
Zhu had investigated Huo Yao earlier and mentioned that Ji Ya was acquainted with Huo Yao. She sighed in relief the moment she heard what Ji Ya said.
She said, “Since you’re not in the same faculty, she must have deliberately gotten close to you, right?”
Ji Ya looked at her mother quizzically. “What do you mean purposely? Mom, what are you saying? Even though we aren’t from the same faculty, we often work with each other. It’s normal for students to know people from other faculties.”
It was not what Song Qi meant. She reached her hand out to squeeze Ji Ya’s arm and said with a serious look on her face, “No matter what, I want you to keep a distance from that girl from now on. She will get you into trouble one day.”
Song Qi had yet to forget the terrible things Huo Yao had done to the Song family last year. No matter how they investigated, they could not figure out how Huo Yao managed to do it to them. Since she was clearly powerful, Song Qi naturally did not dare to touch her.
Song Qi held Ji Ya’s arm so hard that she could sense pain, but she ignored it and asked. “Do you know Huo Yao?”
Song Qi did not want to explain further and simply reminded her daughter earnestly. “Just trust me. You have to keep a distance from her and not interact with her. She’s nothing but trouble.”
The moment she finished her sentence, she let go of her daughter’s arm.
Ji Ya felt very puzzled, but Song Qi refused to tell her anything more no matter how she tried.
“This isn’t worth your time and it doesn’t help for you to know more. Just focus on your studies and find yourself a good husband, “said Song Qi earnestly.
Ji Ya went quiet the moment her mother brought up marriage.
“You should do your best to marry yourself into the Min family,” said Song Qi softly.
Ji Ya looked out of the car window quietly. The car had already left Tsing University and a black car came towards them before brus.h.i.+ng past them.
Complicated emotions suddenly emerged in Ji Ya’s heart.

Shortly after Min Yu’s car pulled up outside Tsing University, Huo Yao appeared at the entrance.
She walked to the car unhurriedly, opened the car door, and got in.
“Young Master Min, excellent timing.” Huo Yao raised her brow and put on her seatbelt.
“I’m picking up my girlfriend. How could I be late?” replied Min Yu with a serious look on his face.
Huo Yao glanced at him sideways.
Min Yu started the engine and asked. “Shall we go and pick up your cousin?”
“It’s fine. He stays on campus, so he only comes home once a week,” said Huo Yao as she pulled out her phone. She texted Shangguan Yun asking how he was doing at school.
Since he was still in cla.s.s, she did not hear back from him.
Huo Yao did not continue waiting. She had already done her sisterly duty to check upon him.
“What would you like for dinner?” asked Min Yu as he glanced into the rearview mirror.
Huo Yao contemplated as she spun her phone. After some time, she tilted her head sideways at the driver’s seat. “Has the chef made a killing recently?”
Min Yu smiled as he nodded and said, “Thanks to my girlfriend, I made a little money.”
