Chapter 1813 - 1813 Ident.i.ty Verification
1813 Ident.i.ty Verification
“The Huo family?” King pondered briefly. “Are you talking about the elite family with a long heritage?”
Thank you readers!
The Huo family had high status in Country M, so it was the first name that came to mind.
“Uh huh.” Shangguan Hou nodded.
Hardly any expression changed on King’s face. He simply said calmly, “We can’t let these problems get in our way.”
Shangguan Hou knew about King’s ambitions. His words served to further justify his initial decisions.
He genuinely felt valued around here.
Shangguan Hou’s eyes turned slightly darker. He raised his head, looked at King, and hesitated briefly. “In reality, the key…”
At this moment, struggling could be sensed coming from his pocket. A gray silhouette darted out of his pocket and zipped outside. It was so fast that King failed to notice it.
Shangguan Hou paused mid-sentence.
His little pet would never suddenly react so strongly. It would only suddenly run off if it had detected the scent of something it liked.
When Shangguan Hou went quiet, King could not help looking at him quizzically. “What about the key?”
Shangguan Hou snapped out of his thoughts. He shook his head and said, “Nothing. I will find the key as soon as possible, but I have somewhere to go right now.”
King felt a little puzzled, but he did not continue probing. He simply waved his hand. “Okay then. Go ahead.”
“Okay.”
Shangguan Hou nodded reverently and turned to stride off quickly.
It was clear that he was walking anxiously.
King narrowed his eyes. Sure enough, Shangguan Hou was hiding something from him.
Shangguan Hou followed the trail and walked out of Mirage Base.
Mirage Base was built in a small town. Residents only lived on the edge of the town and the central area was cordoned off.
According to protocol, the base entrance was shut at this hour of the day. Since Shangguan Hou had high clearance, the security guards automatically let him through.
Just as he was about to leave, the sensors at the base got triggered and an alarm could be heard.
The sensors only got triggered if someone tried to infiltrate the base.
Over ten security guards at the entrance promptly looked worried.
The last time the base’s sensors got triggered was ten years ago causing a major commotion here.
The security team captain immediately reported the situation and sent men to search the base.
30 minutes pa.s.sed. Everyone went into high alert mode combing through the base, but they were unable to find anything amiss.
For a moment, they were unable to locate the intruder.
Yang Yi was still thinking about how to access the core district. This unexpected alarm was the perfect opportunity.
The tech department chief sent him along with two other colleagues to the central district to check the security system.
Yang Yi was right at the back walking to the control room. When they got to the control room, he glanced at the security checks. Just as they were about to take a retina scan, his feet halted briefly.
People could disguise themselves in any way, but there was no way to create a fake retina. The moment he looked into the camera, it would scan his retina and verify his ident.i.ty.
His colleagues standing in front of him were done verifying their ident.i.ties. After taking a couple of steps forward, they discovered Zhu did not keep up with them. They could not help rus.h.i.+ng him. “Zhu, what are you waiting for? Come on.”
Yang Yi raised his hand to press his forehead. He had certainly made his way to the central district, but this security check might blow his cover.
