Chapter 761: Huo Yao Has Guaranteed Placement At Tsing University
Yi Feiyu said as he walked, “Princ.i.p.al Yu is asking us to take care of Huo Yao after she joins Tsing University. Since we are from the same high school, it is only natural that we should help her.”
Jiang Mingyue halted in her steps and pulled Yu Feiyu’s arm. “Hang on. Are you saying she is joining Tsing University?”
She looked particularly shocked and her voice was filled with disbelief.
Yi Feiyu turned his head and answered. “Uh huh. She has guaranteed placement at Tsing University.”
Jiang Mingyue opened her eyes wide. “Guaranteed placement? How did she end up getting it?”
Had Huo Yao not mentioned earlier in the afternoon that her languages were very poor?
“She got it because she took part in a compet.i.tion. Don’t you know about the National Quiz Compet.i.tion that Tsing University co-organized? The prize is a spot in the university,” asked Yi Feiyu quizzically.
Jiang Mingyue shook her head the moment she heard this. “I have been busy doing research with my professor, so I didn’t pay attention to it.”
“I see.” Yi Feiyu paused before he smiled and continued. “Of all the students in our batch, you are certainly performing the best. Since the department chief has chosen you to be his disciple, it is only normal for things to get busy for you.”
Jiang Mingyue certainly enjoyed hearing the praise. She cleared her throat and said modestly, “That’s not true. I simply got lucky. Also, there aren’t a lot of students in the Biology department.”
“My professor always has nice things to say about your work,” said Mu Qing as he finally broke his silence.
Since he was doing a minor in Genetic Engineering in the Biology department, he sometimes heard the teachers talking about Jiang Mingyue.
Jiang Mingyue glanced at Mu Qing and felt happy inside. She lowered her head without saying a word and stopped asking Yi Feiyu about Huo Yao.
Huo Yao was just a pretentious woman. Even if Huo Yao had guaranteed placement, she was not worthy of her attention.
Jiang Mingyue straightened some loose hair on her face and started chatting about other things with Yi Feiyu and Mu Qing.

Huo Yao quickly took her things and left the cla.s.s when school ended.
She walked out of the school entrance, headed straight for an ordinary-looking black car parked nearby. She opened the front pa.s.senger seat, and got in.
“Did you wait for long?” asked Huo Yao as she put on her seatbelt and looked up at Min Yu who was driving.
“A few minutes.” Min Yu started the car. “I just came over from the pet store. I have already picked two for you.”
Huo Yao nodded and said solemnly, “Thanks a lot.”
If it were not for Min Yu, she did not even have the time to buy a birthday present for her second older brother.
Min Yu raised his brow and turned to glance at her. “You are welcome.”
“Uh huh,” acknowledged Huo Yao gently. “Is the pet shop very far away?”
“Nope. Just about 20 minutes by car.”
Huo Yao nodded. She crossed her legs and leaned against the car window lazily as she rapped her fingers on her knees intermittently.
Before long, the car pulled up at a pet shop with a posh exterior.
Huo Yao got off the car and contemplated instead of going in right away.
Min Yu headed towards the shop and realized that Huo Yao wasn’t following behind. He turned to look at her with a puzzled look on his face. “What’s wrong?”
Huo Yao looked downwards as she straightened out her school uniform and asked. “Is it expensive?”
Min Yu was stunned. He quickly composed himself and laughed as he shook his head. “Don’t worry. It’s decently priced.”
Huo Yao strode into the pet shop. This was exactly what she wanted to hear.
Despite being able to afford a nice gift, her stupid second older brother was not good enough for her to waste money on.
The two of them quickly entered the pet shop.
The shopkeeper recognized Min Yu since he had just left the place 30 minutes ago.
