Chapter 924 Heaven on Earth
The next morning, Li Yi reached out his arm blearily for a hug, only to find the other side of his bed empty. That was when he opened his eyes.
Li Yi sat up and recalled what happened last night. He thought, ‘That didn’t seem like Qian’er, and it wasn’t Jiaojiao either. So who could it be?’
“Wakey wakey!”
“Bam! Bam! Bam!”
Someone banged on the door forcefully, and Li Yi knew without looking that it had to be Lil Chili.
The door was clearly open, but his guest kept kicking the door rather than coming in. Only Jiaojiao would do something like that.
“If you bang it anymore, I’ll bang you sideways!” roared Li Yi furiously. Only then did the knocking die down.
He checked the time. It was exactly eight.
After he got up, washed his face, and ate, Li Yi changed his clothes and then went with Jiaojiao to meet her ‘online friend’.
“When’s your online friend coming?”
“Ten.”
“Then why are we out here so early?”
“It shows more sincerity to be early.”
“Oh…”
Hence, Li Yi suffered in the name of sincerity. Jiaojiao dragged him all over the place, buying anything that caught her fancy. Not long later, Li Yi’s hands were full of packages.
“Hey, Lil Chili, are we here to meet your online friend or buy clothes?”
“How often do we go out? We’re already here, so won’t it be even more annoying to just sit around waiting? We might as well go shopping.”
“You have a point.”
“In that case, let’s keep going! Aha, this red one looks good. I’m sure Qian’er will like it. And this one, this blue one, I think it fits Fire Ice pretty well. Let’s get it!”
With a swipe of Miss Jiao’s golden card, Li Yi ended up with a few more bags to hold…
Jiaojiao never looked at the price when shopping. As long as she liked it, she would buy it in an instant. Li Yi used to admire this facet of her personality, but now, he was getting slightly less fond of it.
He had more than thirty bags of different shapes and sizes now, and this was just the beginning…
After they were done shopping, they put all the items into storage. Li Yi then followed Jiaojiao to the station like a puppet on her strings, where they waited for more than another hour before they finally met her online friend.
Jiaojiao’s online friend was not tall. She had curly hair that was slightly blonde, and she wore a beige tank top that revealed her midriff as well as a denim ‘p*ssy-length mini-skirt"[1] that was all the rage nowadays. As for her shoes, she wore cute high-soled ankle boots.
Although Jiaojiao’s online friend was not very tall, her fair legs were plenty long and definitely met the golden standard. They were almost as good as Jiaojiao’s.
The online friend wore red gla.s.ses that covered half of her face, holding a large phone in one hand and a small red bag in the other. She walked with a swagger from head to toe that practically screamed ‘hooligan’…
It was like she walked right out of a gang!
“Hi!”
When Jiaojiao saw the online friend, she immediately waved delightedly and ran over to her in a hurry.
As he watched Jiaojiao hug her online friend lovingly, both of them patting each other’s backs with considerable force, Li Yi could not help but feel conflicted.
Why were Jiaojiao’s friends all so unique?
“C’mere, let me introduce you.”
Jiaojiao pulled her short online friend with the long legs up to Li Yi. Just then, the online friend pointed at Li Yi and screamed.
“F*ck!”
Her voice was high, shrill, and extremely loud. This was the station, which meant that there were people everywhere. Her scream had instantly grabbed a ton of attention, and many pa.s.sersby just stood there and watched.
The short online friend with the long legs waved her fists at the onlookers. “Whatchu looking at, *ssholes? Ain’t never seen a beauty before?”
Li Yi opened his mouth and could not close it.
There was no need for an introduction. He could tell by her voice alone. This was… Sister Cat!
“Cat?”
The short online friend with the long legs walked up to Li Yi, looking him up and down. “Well, f*ck me. You look much more decent in real life than you do in the game, Dark Wing.”
Li Yi rolled his eyes. He had not altered his look at all, so he looked just like he did in the game.
On the other hand, this Sister Cat had clearly been ameliorated.
Not in terms of her features, but in terms of her figure.
In the game, The Cat that Sings was nowhere near this short.
Jiaojiao went up to her and grabbed Sister Cat’s hand intimately. “C’mon, let’s find somewhere where we can have a nice long chat.”
They had long since decided where they were going to eat. It was just around the bend from Jiaojiao’s school.
The three of them took their seats, but Li Yi was br.i.m.m.i.n.g with questions. He had not expected Jiaojiao’s online friend to be The Cat that Sings.
“Whatchu lookin’ at?”
She sensed that Li Yi was staring at her, and The Cat that Sings bristled, waving her chopsticks at him fiercely.
The Cat that Sings did not sit still either. Her toes barely touched the ground, and she hummed a song that only she knew to herself.
She looked just like a little lady hooligan.
No, rather than just looking the part, she practically was a little lady hooligan!
Li Yi resisted the urge to laugh. Taking a sip of his drink, he said, “Sister Cat, judging by the way you look, am I right to say you were once in a gang?”
“Yeah, so what? I just happen to be looking for a lackey or two, you interested?”
“Thanks, but no thanks.”
Just then, Jiaojiao yelled, “Lil Lin, come here, come here! Help me order something!”
The Cat that Sings walked over to her, swaying her b.u.t.t and leaving Li Yi alone.
“Pfft!”
Watching The Cat that Sings as she walked with her swagger, Li Yi could not help but laugh out loud.
Although her figure was not exactly the same, her personality was exactly the same as in the game.
“Lil Lin, as in Xiaolin? Bai Xiaolin and Bai Xiaoya, both pretty good names. Good looks, too, but too bad about that temperament.”
Not long later, the two women returned, but they ignored Li Yi completely and chattered non-stop about girl things. Li Yi sat beside them and listened for a long time, but he could not get a word in edgewise.
It was only when the dishes were set on the table that the two women finally stopped chatting. Jiaojiao said, “Lil Lin came here to meet her sister, and also to hang out with me for a couple of days.”
“I see… Then you two should have fun.”
Li Yi recalled the last time he met Fluttering Snow Purple Water Chestnut in the streets. It would not be surprising if Bai Xiaoya was hanging around nearby.
Their meal took more than an hour, after which Jiaojiao suggested that they go to the amus.e.m.e.nt park. The three of them then got into the car and headed out.
After playing for another hour or more at the amus.e.m.e.nt park, Jiaojiao suggested going to the zoo next. Although Li Yi did not want to go, he had already promised that he would keep her company all day, so he had no choice but to swallow his complaints and hang out with his girl.
They stayed out from morning until nighttime. Jiaojiao and The Cat that Sings were full of energy, and they snapped pictures as they went, taking pictures the entire way. Whenever they saw anything that they liked, they would buy it in a heartbeat and then gave it to Li Yi for keeping.
It was only at seven at night that Jiaojiao finally suggested they head home.
The Cat that Sings protested, “If we’re having fun, we should go all the way! Why go home so early? Let’s go sing karaoke!”
Li Yi was stunned to hear that.
Jiaojiao’s suggestion implied that The Cat that Sings would follow them home.
The Cat that Sings’ suggestion implied that she was not done playing, and that she wanted to keep at it.
Jiaojiao decided. “Fine. I’m the landlord, and you’re the guest, so we’ll do as you say today!
“C’mon, Lil Yi’zi. Go to the karaoke with me.” Jiaojiao patted Li Yi’s shoulder.
“Where are we going?”
“To Heaven on Earth!”
