Chapter 870: The Four Major Elemental Shrines

Li Yi logged in the next day and started searching for the Four /Major Elemental Shrines according to the map given by Aersith.
The Invincible Continent, the Ninth Continent, the a.s.sembled G.o.ds Continent, and the North Pole Continent. All four continents had an ancient shrine in it and these important buildings were used to maintain the continent’s energy.
The shrine located at the Invincible Continent was called the Wind G.o.d’s Shrine. The power of the wind was sealed within it. The shrine in the Ninth Continent, also known as the Earth G.o.d’s Shrine had the power of the earth sealed within it.
The a.s.sembled G.o.ds Continent’s shrine had the power of fire sealed within in while the North Pole Continent’s shrine had the power of water sealed within it.
When all Four Major Elemental Shrines were unsealed, the four elements would spread across the entire continent and would ultimately form the Great Anti-demon Barrier. When that happened, all demons would not be able to enter it no matter how strong they were.
The Great Anti-demon Barrier was a restriction personally set up by the Ruler of G.o.d. Its purpose was to prevent the Demonic Tribe to invade the continents.
Since the Four Major Elemental Shrines were so ancient that all sentient beings on this land today had totally forgotten about them. Even the legendary Three Human Heroes who were rumored to have the bodies of immortals had not heard of the Four Major Elemental Shrines as well.
Aersith had heard the secrets of the Four Major Elemental Shrines from the previous Great Demon G.o.d King who was also her father. She then went to validate the intel with Aragon and finally understood the purpose of the Four Major Elemental Shrine’s existence.
The first shrine Li Yi headed to was the Wind G.o.d’s Shrine at the Invincible Continent. It was located at Black Rock Mountain near the Northwest Waste.
The map given by Aersith was not that accurate and the shrine’s location was estimated at best. Players would still need to search the area thoroughly for the entrance.
Level 80 Dragon Whelps and Drakes sp.a.w.ned in the Northwest Waste. These sp.a.w.ns would not catch the current Li Yi’s interest at all.
However, there were simply too many of these dragon sp.a.w.ns in Northwest Waste. Although their attacks did not pack a punch, it was rather annoying for them to kept attacking him in the long run.
Li Yi had an idea to avoid being hara.s.sed by the sp.a.w.ns as he summoned Onyxia. He turned her into a humanoid mount and traveled slowly across the Northwest Waste. All of the sp.a.w.ns started retreating and did not dare to approach him.
Onyxia’s body was simply too big. Li Yi might as well had just given up on finding the shrine’s entrance if he did not allow her to maintain her humanoid size since he would not be able to see into the distance.
Although it looked rather strange to ride a beautiful lady as a mount, Onyxia’s movement speed was still incredibly fast and was on par with Holy Light Warhorse.
“Chirp chirp…”
The dragon sp.a.w.ns retreated in all directions as the almighty Black Dragon Princess stood before them. Their weak aura was such a joke that it was no better than of dust.
Li Yi gently caressed Onyxia’s back with both of his hands as she kept crawling forward with her eyes squinted while she sensed the surrounding.
The map had hinted that he must felt the breath of the wind in order to find the entrance of the Wind G.o.d’s Shrine.
Li Yi activated his senses as everything happened right before his eyes registered in easily.
A few hundred meters away right in front of him, there were two players, male and female, who were busy grinding their levels. There was no breath of the wind in the area at all.
A bunch of hills on his left and there were only a few dragon-human hybrid elite monsters guarding the area. He, too, could not feel any breath of the wind in that area.
On his right was a forest. The wind was blowing gently at the leaves and branches…
“On the right!”
Li Yi reached out his hand and patted Onyxia’s b.u.t.t and pointed to the right.
Onyxia received the order and immediately crawled to the right at great speed.
They arrived at the forest in no time. There was not a single dragon sp.a.w.n here and hence, Li Yi released Onyxia. He then summoned Dolly to help him a.s.sist him in searching for the entrance of the Wind G.o.d’s Shrine.
“Squeak…”
Dolly naturally had her unique capabilities since she was a Legendary Pet. After receiving clear instruction from Li Yi, she started sniffing with her little nose and flew towards the thickest tree in the forest.
Li Yi dug at the bottom of the strong tree and found the Wind G.o.d’s Temple’s entrance.
The illusive wind blew out from the hole and it had fitted the map’s hint as well. He felt the breath of the wind.
Li Yi took out Aersith’s doll but he realized that the doll had turned gray and it could not be summoned. This had further reinforced his conclusion that the hole in front of him was the entrance to the Wind G.o.d’s Shrine.
“Dolly, go!”
The ill-intent owner had ordered Dolly to test the water.
“Squeak!”
Dolly flapped her wings excitedly as she flew into the hole.
“Dolly, is it safe inside?”
“Squeak squeak!” Dolly squeaked twice inside.
Since she was able to make some noise, it signified that she was very safe.
Li Yi was firm as he lowered his body and entered the hole.
The Four Major Elemental Shrines’ history dated way back. Even the Great Demon G.o.d King’s daughter, Aersith was not entirely sure what kind of danger lied inside. Hence, she had warned Li Yi when she pa.s.sed the map to him. It would be very dangerous and unpredictable inside and he must make preparation beforehand.
A gust of wind wrapped around him as Li Yi walked near the tree hole and forcefully teleported him to a standalone s.p.a.cetime, the Wind G.o.d’s Shrine!
The shrine spanned hundreds of meters long and its height was around four meters high. The walls were filled with characters that players would not be able to understand, but Li Yi recognized it immediately when he looked at it. The walls were filled with ancient writings and they were of the same origin with the Divine Tome.
Although there were many written there, Li Yi did not understand a single word at all. He lost interest after giving them a few looks.
The shrine was not dark at all and every corner could be clearly seen. As the breath of the wind kept flowing, Li Yi could feel that the breath of the wind was stronger as he approached the center of the shrine.
There was no other decoration other than the walls filled with ancient writings in the Wind G.o.d’s Shrine. A stone altar was placed at the center and there was a sky-blue treasured sword pierced into it.
That sword was the energy source of the Wind G.o.d’s Shrine, the Wind’s Divine Sword!
The Wind G.o.d’s Shrine’s energy would leak to the outer realm when the sword was destroyed.
“Dolly, go and pull the sword up.”
“Squeak!”
Li Yi always preferred his Legendary Pet to do all the things for him ever since he had gotten it.
Dolly flew to the top of the altar and landed on top of it. She held onto the hilt of the Wind’s Divine Sword with both of her hands and pulled it up above.
“Hi… Squeak~~~”
Dolly lengthened her tone as long as possible as she used all of her might. As the Wind’s Divine Sword was slowly pulling out, a strong gust of wind started leaking out from the crevice.
“Clink! Clink! Clink!”
“Who has disrupted my peace…”
As the Wind’s Divine Sword had been fully pulled out from the stone altar by Dolly, a completely invisible Superior Wind Spirit appeared out of nowhere and held onto the Divine Sword tightly.
“Squeak!”
Dolly tried to s.n.a.t.c.h it back with all of her might but she was simply too weak and was no match for the Superior Wind Spirit. Her face turned red as she tried for a long time but she still could not take the Divine Sword away from it.
“Ngh…”
“I am The King of Northwind, the pinnacle being among all Superior Wind Spirits. Who are you?”
The King of Northwind pointed at Li Yi with the sword as it asked.
“Squeak squeak!”
Dolly was furious as she was swung away. She did not wait for Li Yi’s order as she raised her little bow and attacked at the King of Northwind.
“Tw.a.n.g! Tw.a.n.g!”
“Whoos.h.!.+ Whoos.h.!.+”
Dolly used Ceaseless Arrow Skill. However, the King of Northwind did not waver as two arrows went through its body and did not deal any damage at all.
Its body was invisible and was able to negate all physical ATK.
“Tw.a.n.g! Tw.a.n.g! Tw.a.n.g!”
Dolly was even more furious as she failed to attack it. She then pulled her small bow once more and kept attacking it. She did not care if she was able to damage the King of Northwind, she just wanted to attack it.
“True Overlord Arrow!”
It was useless trying to reason with the Superior Elf that was guarding the Divine Sword. His only option was to kill it.
Li Yi started attacking as the fiery phoenix spanned its wings and flew towards the King of Northwind.
Since physical ATK was ineffective against it, he decided to try it out with an element-based skill!
Thud!
[-1]
The fiery phoenix disappeared after hitting its target and a white letter [-1] appeared above the King of Northwind’s head.
“Mortal, I’m G.o.d’s servant. How dare you disrespect me. Die!”
The King of Northwind held the sword tightly with both of its hand and slashed it towards Li Yi.
“Whoos.h.!.+”
“Whoos.h.!.+”
“Whoos.h.!.+”
The sword’s light blue aura kept flying towards Li Yi and he had to use Chrono Territory to evade the lethal attacks.
“The power of Territory. Mortal, are you trying to use this strength to challenge G.o.d’s authority?” The King of Northwind’s tone was filled with belittlement.
“Chrono Stinger Arrow!”
Li Yi ignored its comment and attempted once more with his strongest attack.
“Whoos.h.!.+”
“Thud!”
He shot out his Chrono Stinger Arrow and it landed on its chest.
[-1]
The Stinger Arrow did not stick into the King of Northwind’s body. Instead, it went through its body after dealing 1 damage to it.
Although the Stinger Arrow dealt physical ATK, the Chrono Stinger Arrow that Li Yi used was a Star Arrow. Hence it was not as simple as dealing just physical ATK.
Despite hitting it, the damage was still overwhelmingly low, no?
A few sword auras flew towards Li Yi once more and he had no choice but to teleport to another location to evade it.
Fortunately, the King of Northwind’s attack may be powerful but it did not have the capability to negate Li Yi’s Territory. Hence, he was able to fully expand his Territory light barrier and teleport wherever he wished.
Whoos.h.!.+
The King of Northwind swung its sword at Dolly who was not able to deal a single damage despite shooting for the entire duration. It then turned into a glowing white egg as she fell to the ground.
The King of Northwind’s attack exceeded one million damaged with one attack. How could Dolly survive against that?
“Come out, Alleria!”
The cool and amazing silver-armored female Vagabond appeared before Li Yi. She had an Orange Quality s.h.i.+eld on her left hand and an Orange Quality Sword (Oberon’s Radiant Sword). She looked extremely cool.
“Go hide in a corner!”
Li Yi ordered Alleria without any hesitation. The reason he summoned Alleria was not to fight the King of Northwind. All he wanted was the Light Ring buffs from the Orange Quality Sword.
The Radiance’s special effect was to provide an additional 20% received DMG reduction to all allies within 300 yards. It was the best special effect in a party fight.
The other special effect was called Oberon’s Howl. It would reduce all enemies’ attributes by 10% and Abnormality Resistance by 20% within 300 yards. There was also a chance of them failing to cast their skills.
Alleria then ran to the corner of the shrine and waited for Li Yi’s next command.
“Activate G.o.dless!”
[G.o.dless (Divine Spell). Forces target into the confused state for 30 seconds!]
Alleria raised the Orange Quality Sword up high as a black light fell from above, crus.h.i.+ng onto the King of Northwind’s head.
Then, the King of Northwind lowered his hands as he stopped moving…
