Chapter 1182: Pre-tournament Preparations
One had to say that this bunch of fellas from the Quan Zhen Sect were easily satisfied people. No matter who it was, as long as it was beneficial to them, they would instantly feel much better than before.
Now that someone was willing to sponsor the Quan Zhen Sect’s partic.i.p.ation in this tournament, their previous indignant was flushed to the back of their heads.
Fearless chuckled when he saw them acting like that, “Alright, since we’ve settled the money issue, why don’t we start considering the pre-tournament preparations?”
“Pre-tournament preparations? Why do we have to prepare for this? Which ones of us have fought in a compet.i.tion like this before?”
Everyone looked at each other in confusion.
This was the greatest difference between amateur and professional players.
The professional players’ job scope wasn’t just about researching and a.n.a.lysing all types of maps, battle tactics or watching how their opponents fight. They would also be constantly preparing to get into a state where they could enter a compet.i.tion with the correct mindset.
On the other hand, amateur players were constantly running from places to places doing many different things such as leveling up or obtaining equipment. While there was a lot of joy in the gaming experience, only people obsessed with PK would actually not avoid it.
Therefore, the Quan Zhen Sect had no idea what and where to start once Fearless talked about preparations.
“Crotch Lord, do you know?” w.a.n.g Yu turned to ask.
Crotch Lord was once in a sports team before. Even though there was a ma.s.sive difference between electronic games and table tennis, they were both preparing for an upcoming compet.i.tion. The logic behind the preparations should remain the same.
“This…” Crotch Lord thought for a while, “Back when we were preparing for our compet.i.tion, what we did is to prepare our rackets, rest well and also a.n.a.lyse the playing style of our opponents.”
“Makes sense!”
Hearing Crotch Lord’s words, everyone came to a sudden realisation.
It seemed like w.a.n.g Yu really asked the right person.
There was no need for further explanation on resting. Preparing their rackets and a.n.a.lysing their opponents were clearly the same as upgrading their equipment and strength.
In terms of equipment, the Quan Zhen Sect never lacked gold and with the professional Blacksmith Choba345 around, the fellas from the Quan Zhen Sect were not just equipped with full sets of Obsidian weapons. In fact, some of them even obtained Ancient grade weapons so there was not much room for further improvement.
As for levels… The majority of them, with the exception of w.a.n.g Yu, had an average level of 55.
Now that there were less than seven days to the tournament, it would be hard to increase levels within one week given the speed of <>. Moreover, a one-level difference of attributes was almost negligible which made it pointless for them to waste their time on trying to increase their levels.
Therefore if the Quan Zhen Sect wants to continue improving, it can only be through actual combat and their coordination.
After all, half of the current Quan Zhen Sect were newcomers. Even though they worked pretty well after a few months of playing together, they were still far from being comparable to professional experts who spent years playing together.
After pondering for a moment, Fearless suggested, “Let’s not go for any more dungeons over the next few days. Let’s familiarise ourselves with each other.”
“How are we going to do that if we don’t go for dungeons? Attack other players?” Everyone questioned.
“Idiot!” Spring Halo spoke with a disdainful tone, “Of course we’ll go to the PVP arena.”
“Oh… You just want us to help you gather materials, right?”
Everyone glanced over at Spring Halo and it was clear that this fella had a clear motive.
“Indeed.” Spring Halo was not going to deny it as he continued to have no sense of shame, “In order to motivate everyone, I can only sacrifice and let everyone improve with me.”
“Tsk! Shameless!” Everyone pointed their middle fingers.
“Brother Spring is right!” Fearless continued, “PVP arena is a good idea and we can even help gather points to sell the materials Brother Spring needs to him. Brother Spring sacrificed himself for us! It must have been really tough for him! No wonder he is our big brother of n.o.ble character and unquestionable integrity!”
Fearless placed extra emphasis on the words ‘sell’ and ‘unquestionable integrity’. Fearless was, after all, one of the most treacherous men in the Quan Zhen Sect so he was never going to let Spring Halo off the hook just like that.
Everyone instantly added, “Brother Spring! Unquestionable integrity!”
“F*ck!” Spring Halo pointed his middle finger at Fearless which made him smile widely.
Just when everyone was joking around with Spring Halo, Fearless noticed that w.a.n.g Yu never said anything. Hence, he turned to ask him, “Old Bull, why are you not saying anything? Do you have any better ideas?”
“No…” w.a.n.g Yu shook his head, “You guys can go ahead, I won’t be joining you guys.”
“Why not?”
Hearing w.a.n.g Yu’s words, the noisy group of them immediately grew silent. w.a.n.g Yu had always been very sociable with them so why did he suddenly want to break away from the group?
w.a.n.g Yu laughed and said, “You guys still have room for improvement so I wouldn’t want to interfere.”
Indeed, the stronger one was, the harder it was to improve. Given w.a.n.g Yu’s current level of strength, he would merely be bullying others at the PVP arena which wouldn’t help him in any way. Unless he was able to rise to level 80 in one go and complete two awakening quests, it wouldn’t be beneficial to him even if he fought hard for one whole month with the Quan Zhen Sect.
Moreover, with a player like w.a.n.g Yu with them, it didn’t matter who they fought against because they would always be the favourite. Not only would w.a.n.g Yu not be able to improve himself by following them, but he would be affecting their progress as well.
One must know that one person’s strength wouldn’t be enough to clinch the champions.h.i.+p of the professional tournament.
With this amount of spare time, there were better things to do.
Seeing that w.a.n.g Yu was not joining them, Vainglory replied unhappily, “Uncle Bull, how are we going to practice working together if you’re not coming with us?”
“Haha!” w.a.n.g Yu chuckled, “You guys just need to work well together. It is quite simple for me to work with you guys.”
“Tsk…” Vainglory blushed as w.a.n.g Yu was right. It was always easier to work with people of lower standards. Of course, w.a.n.g Yu didn’t want to be too direct with these Quan Zhen Sect’s players who were always convinced that they were top experts.
For gaming nerds like the Quan Zhen Sect, one could mention that they are r.e.t.a.r.ded but never mention that they are not great at gaming.
“But…”
“No buts!”
When other people were still trying to argue, Fearless waved his hand to disrupt them, “You bunch of useless fellas! Are you going to be satisfied only when Old Bull speaks the cold hard truth? Don’t you all know your own standards? All of you are considered experts too, so it is time to get used to fighting with Old Bull.”
“F*ck!”
Everyone became depressed. Even though this was the truth, the way Fearless said it was indeed hurtful to their pride.
“Hehe!”
w.a.n.g Yu snickered as he gave Fearless a thumbs up, “I didn’t say anything about that. If anyone is not happy, feel free to beat him up!”
“…”
Everyone heard him and instantly clenched their fists towards Fearless.
Fearless crouched against the wall expertly as he held his face and said, “Just don’t hit my face…”
