Chapter 1403: More Haste, Less Speed
Indeed, Evil Rampage was a big boss with many matters to handle everyday. With that many subordinates to feed, his time was indeed more precious than w.a.n.g Yu and Fearless who were basically gaming for fun.
Fearless could waste his time on a BOSS that wouldn’t drop items or EXP but Evil Rampage couldn’t be bothered.
Once Evil Rampage left, Fearless also said helplessly, “Let’s leave too!”
“Why? Are we not going to continue?” w.a.n.g Yu asked.
“Not anymore!” Fearless shook his head, “There must be a unique way to kill this plaything. There is no point wasting our efforts here without any clue! We look for more clues about it first.”
“Makes sense!” w.a.n.g Yu nodded.
‘More haste, less speed’ was a logic that could be applied anywhere.
Raging Flames Monarch was vastly different from the normal wild BOSS that players met in the wild. Wild BOSS would not have a fixed residence and everywhere could be their home. However, Raging Flames Monarch looked like the tyrant of this mining area. There was a high chance that this was the main fella in the background story of Yamatai City.
The easiest way to figure out more about a BOSS like that was to ask the main city NPC.
After all, Raging Flames Monarch had been here for so many years so it was impossible for the NPC in this area to not know him.
Searching and questioning NPC might be a little troublesome but it wasn’t difficult. However, when w.a.n.g Yu returned to Yamatai City, he was completely lost…
It couldn’t be helped because Yamatai City was a completely unfamiliar place to w.a.n.g Yu. He had no idea where the NPC was hiding…
Even though w.a.n.g Yu was not afraid of anyone in a fight, he was still considered a newbie in this gaming environment. As compared to the many veterans out there, he was still lacking in terms of accomodating to new environments in the game.
“Fearless, why don’t you go ahead and search for more clues. I will find a place and wait for you there…” w.a.n.g Yu said.
w.a.n.g Yu had clearly underestimated how lazy a repulsive person like Fearless was. Fearless waved his hands and said, “I work best with my brains… A physical activity like this doesn’t suit my style!”
“So how are you going to ask? Why don’t you get the NPC to report to you back at your City Lord Mansion?” w.a.n.g Yu couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
If a City Lord could do that, a person like Fearless would definitely be capable of doing such things.
Fearless smiled and said, “That is actually a pretty decent idea. However, the only NPC I can order around as the City Lord are merely the guards… What do those idiots know?”
“So what do you think?” w.a.n.g Yu asked.
“Hehe!” Fearless smiled cheekily, “I believe Brother Spring and the rest are already familiar with the main city by this time…”
“Atchoo!!”
Fearless’ prediction was right because, at this moment, the other players of the Quan Zhen Sect already familiarised themselves with the distribution of NPCs in Yamatai City. In fact, they were already prepared to have a few gla.s.ses of wine at the bar. Just when everyone sat down, Spring Halo suddenly sneezed which scared everyone else. Could they even catch a cold in the game?
“Weird.”
Spring Halo rubbed his nose as he said, “Why do I suddenly feel chilly? Is someone plotting against me?!”
Just after Spring Halo said that, Fearless sent a message in the guild chat, “Where are you guys?”
“At the bar! Do you want to treat us to some drinks?” everyone asked with a smile.
Everyone knew that Fearless was someone who contracted the ‘Treat and I will die’ illness. They knew that he would definitely not come if he needed to pay for the bill.
Who knew that, this time, Fearless actually replied, “Sure! Be sure to order the most expensive ones! Get the boss to charge it on my bill.”
“Aiya?” Everyone was taken aback at this miracle. Fearless treating others? And he was willing to treat the most expensive ones? Becoming a City Lord had certainly changed the way he spoke.
“You are indeed our mighty City Lord!!”
After everyone’s initial shock, Spring Halo quickly called the waiter of the bar and said, “Give me twenty bottles of the most expensive wine here! Charge it to City Lord Fearless’ bill!”
“F*ck!” everyone exclaimed, “There are only nine of us here and you’re ordering twenty bottles? Aren’t you worried that Fearless will find trouble with you?”
“Tsk! What are you saying? All these are for myself! If you want, make your own order!” Spring Halo sneered coldly at the rest.
“You can finish twenty bottles?”
“I can takeaway if I can’t finish.” Spring Halo continued, “Do you know how rare it is for Fearless to be willing to treat us? How can I face him if I don’t order more while I have the chance to?”
“Brother Spring is absolutely right! Ordering more is showing respect to him!”
Shamelessness was already part of the Quan Zhen Sect’s tradition and history. It wasn’t hard for Spring Halo to convince everyone else as they exclaimed, “Give me ten bottles too! Charge it to Fearless!”
Even the most obedient ladies ordered five bottles for themselves. How could they not do the same or at least the minimum if everyone else was doing it… This was also how the Quan Zhen Sect managed to corrupt so many innocent and honest people.
There was no need to doubt the efficiency of the system when it came down to serving the wine. Within seconds, the entire table was filled with bottles…
Just when everyone was about to split the wine, Fearless sent yet another message in the chat, “I believe everyone has ordered quite a few for themselves, right?”
“It’s fine!” Ming Du looked at the table worth of most expensive wine before replying proudly, “You are not going to go back on your word, right?”
“Don’t worry! Since when do I not mean what I say?” Fearless smiled, “Since you have collected your wine, don’t you think it is time for everyone to get up for some exercise?”
“???”
After hearing what Fearless said, everyone started to pay caution as they couldn’t help but ask, “What do you mean?”
“Exactly what you think I mean!” Fearless continued, “Go look for NPCs to find out more about Raging Flames Monarch.”
“F*ck! Why don’t you go look for them yourself?”
Everyone knew how annoying looking for clues could be especially in a city like this. With that many NPCs in the game, looking for clues turned out to be an extremely physical exercise.
“Because I didn’t accept a free meal…”
“What makes you think we did that?” everyone refuted.
“Perhaps you didn’t!” Fearless smiled as he continued, “But the wine that you bought earlier for yourself are all paid by Old Bull. If you don’t want to die, please go ahead…”
“…”
Everyone turned gloomy when they saw that message.
This was the purest form of blackmailing… Everyone might be daring enough to offend Fearless but who would dare to offend w.a.n.g Yu?
Everyone’s att.i.tude changed drastically, “So this is Old Bull’s matter… You should have just told us this from the start! We are always more than willing to help!”
“Quit the nonsense!”
Fearless knew all these b*stards extremely well. If w.a.n.g Yu needed their help to fight a BOSS, these fellas wouldn’t hesitate at all. After all, w.a.n.g Yu had been extremely brotherly to them. If w.a.n.g Yu needed them to do something as burdensome as looking for clues, there was a high chance that they would transform into penpal friends…
“F*ck! Fearless is basically using Old Bull to scare us…”
Everyone was clearly dissatisfied with Fearless but they started pointing to Spring Halo, “This is all your fault! Why must you order so many?”
“What do you know!” Spring Halo pointed his middle finger at them, “Even if you order one bottle, Old Dog Fearless will still extort you.”
After saying that, Spring Halo turned around and shouted, “Boss, give me twenty more bottles…”
