Chapter 584 A New Member
With an ear-splitting howl, the White Dire Wolf lunged forward, its fangs elongated and its claws razor-sharp. Its movements were swift and precise, evading the bullets, tearing through the air, and aiming for Isolde.
Isolde met the wolf head-on. The barrels of her gun spun with an ominous whir. The air crackled with tension as the wolf closed in. Isolde aimed her weapon with unwavering focus, her finger tightening around the trigger. In a swift motion, she unleashed a storm of bullets, each shot finding its mark with deadly precision.
The rattling gun erupted in a symphony of thunderous blasts, its rapid-fire nature sending a hailstorm of lead toward the charging wolf. The air was filled with the deafening roar of gunfire as Isolde"s bullets tore through the air.
With astonishing agility, Isolde swiftly sidestepped the wolf"s lunging attack, narrowly evading its snapping jaws. Her movements were graceful yet calculated, as if she and her gun were extensions of each other.
She effortlessly weaved between the wolf"s strikes, her keen marksmanship allowing her to exploit every opening.
The wolf, now caught in a deadly dance, growled in frustration and pain as each bullet found its mark. Isolde"s shots landed with relentless accuracy, tearing through the wolf"s thick hide and leaving it unable to do anything but die.
Meanwhile, Ren faced the fearsome Snow Bear, its ma.s.sive form towering over him. Undeterred by the bear"s imposing presence, he summoned a simple fire to finish it quickly.
With a sweeping motion of his hands, Ren conjured a swirling vortex of Flame. The temperature increased rapidly, heating the air around him.
The Snow Bear roared, its ma.s.sive paws swiping at Ren with deadly force. But Ren was not one to be easily overpowered. He focused his concentration, unleashing his magical a.s.sault upon the bear.
In an instant, the Flame converged upon the bear, melting it in a fire prison. The bear"s movements slowed as its body became encased in fire, its powerful strikes losing their momentum.
The bear, now weakened and disoriented, stumbled backward, unable to mount a coherent attack until the fire dissolved it into nothingness.
Serine smiled in defeat. "Heh. They didn"t even last one minute. Could this fight be even more one-sided?"
It was not that the White Dire Wolf and Snow Bear were weak. One beast could definitely take up two players in their second evolve cla.s.s. It just so happened that they were up against Ren and Isolde.
Serine"s eyes blazed with a mixture of determination and resignation as she tightened her grip on the double knives. The blades gleamed menacingly in the light, reflecting her unwavering spirit.
"I won"t go down without a fight," she declared, her voice filled with defiance. "I am already a Beast Keeper, you know! And one of White Unicorn"s Generals, I refuse to surrender in the face of defeat!"
Ren, though fully aware of the vast difference in their capabilities, couldn"t help but admire Serine"s resolve. She truly belonged in one of the top guilds. She had the skill, dedication, and character to be one of the pros.
Too bad . . . he really needed to win.
Ren really didn"t want to fight White Unicorn and Guns and Knives, but he would not waver and be indecisive now.
Without hesitation, Serine launched herself forward, her movements fluid and precise. She weaved through the air with agility akin to that of her cla.s.s, her knives glinting as she struck with calculated precision.
Ren conjured a protective shield just to make it appear that he was inserting some effort as not to make Serine feel bad. He could remain standing there and take the attack head-on since his DEF was high against Serine"s STR.
An Animist, Beast Keeper, and all related cla.s.s in this category have their advantage in their beasts and not in their stat. And without their beast"s companion, they were easy prey. I think you should take a look at
However, if Serine saw the minuscule damage she incurred on him, she might lose her spirit and confidence and even doubt herself.
At least if he exerted some effort, she would die without feeling too much shame.
Ren"s magical defenses withstood her relentless a.s.sault. Serine"s knives danced in a symphony of deadly strikes, aiming to pierce through his defenses and leave a mark on his being. She displayed an impressive mastery of close-quarters combat, her every movement calculated to exploit any opening.
Ren"s shield pulsated with invisible energy, repelling her attacks with each impact.
Serine"s frustration was growing with every blocked strike, but she refused to relent. She channeled her fury into a series of rapid slashes and intricate maneuvers, hoping to find a weakness in Ren"s defenses.
Ren, however, remained steadfast. With every move, he antic.i.p.ated Serine"s next strike; using only his scepter, he countered her speed and agility.
Despite Serine"s relentless determination, it became evident that the fight was heavily one-sided. Ren was holding back; she was sure of it.
And with a burst of magical energy, he unleashed a spell, creating a shockwave that sent Serine staggering backward. Her knives slipped from her grasp, clattering to the ground as she fell to her knees, breathing heavily while her HP decreased rapidly before it went zero.
"d.a.m.n it . . . this failure wouldn"t sit well with the board. . ." Serine"s last words echoed in Ren"s ears.
If Eric would only take his offer, then they would have continued to explore the Fey Realm some more and would probably have gained items, EXP and gil.
Unfortunately, Ren couldn"t dictate their decisions and could only offer a warning and move forward.
He could only hope that White Unicorn would retain its leaders.
"Ren."
Isolde went beside him and beamed.
"I guess you don"t need any help."
"Is that okay?" Ren asked. He was talking about her betraying her guild.
"It"s fine," Isolde dismissed. "They couldn"t do anything about it. At most, I"ll get demoted and probably endure an hour long shout from the elders."
That seemed . . . fair. "What are you going to do now?"
At Ren"s question, Isolde suddenly realized, and she immediately went defensive. "Agh . . . don"t worry. I don"t want your gold and item, and I won"t enter a group with you."
She looked at Ren with a toothy grin and pointed her fingers together as she said, "Let me stay with you. I"m sure I"m going to be of some help. I"ll give you all the gil and items I acquire. I won"t ask for anything, and I"m happy if I can just rake some EXP."
