Chapter 887 The Arrival in Nyxos"s Domain
After several more days of traveling, Ren and the others finally arrived in Nyxos"s territory.
They took care to steer clear of other G.o.ds" domains to avoid conflict and expedite their journey.
Nyxos"s castle stood as a testament to his dominion over shadows and darkness, a formidable fortress nestled within the heart of his territory in the Heaven Realm.
As Ren and his companions approached, they were greeted by towering obsidian walls that seemed to absorb the very light around them, casting an eerie darkness over the land.
The castle itself was a ma.s.sive structure, its spires reaching up towards the sky like jagged claws, shrouded in an ever-present veil of swirling shadows.
Dark, ominous clouds loomed overhead, perpetually obscuring the castle from view, adding to its aura of mystery and intimidation.
As they drew nearer, Ren and the others could make out intricate carvings adorning the walls, depicting scenes of darkness and chaos, hinting at the power and malevolence that lay within.
Sinister gargoyles perched atop the battlements, their eyes glowing with an otherworldly light, serving as silent sentinels guarding the castle"s secrets.
The gates of Nyxos"s castle loomed before them, ma.s.sive and imposing, adorned with twisted symbols of darkness and despair.
"He should be a demon in the Netherworld with his tastes," Desira commented, her voice tinged with disdain as she surveyed Nyxos"s castle.
"Yeah, this looks more like the ones you see in the Netherworld," Elena added, her tone echoing Desira"s sentiments.
Pamela sighed deeply, feeling the weight of their misunderstanding. "You guys don"t understand. The Heaven Realm is home to all kinds of G.o.ds and G.o.ddesses. So, being the G.o.d of shadows here isn"t that strange."
"Maybe I should change my name from Demon Lord to G.o.d of the Underworld, so I could live here," Azazel j.a.ped.
Pamela"s expression turned. "This is no laughing matter! As long as you have shadows, he could control you! That"s how dangerous he is!"
"Well, the stronger the opponent, the better," Iraelyn interjected, b.u.mping her fists together.
"Let"s just get this over with. I miss the dull and putrid air back in the Netherworld. The air here is stiff and too pretentiously fresh for my taste," Desira grumbled, her discontent evident in her scowl.
"I need to get back to my potions too," Malifira added, her thoughts already drifting to her work.
"Alright, let"s get Lorelai back," Azazel exclaimed with a grin, his excitement palpable of seeing that woman again.
He kind of miss how she would punch and kick him around. Azazel snickered.
"Everyone!" Pamela gaped at them, her eyes wide with disbelief. She then sighed and rubbed her face with her hands.
That"s right, there was no use in trying to reason with these guys. They didn"t care about danger as long as they got what they wanted in the end.
As they pa.s.sed through the gates, they entered a world of perpetual twilight, where shadows danced and flickered, obscuring the true nature of their surroundings.
Inside, the castle was a labyrinth of winding corridors and shadowy chambers, each more foreboding than the last.
The air was heavy with the scent of ancient magic, tinged with the unmistakable chill of the grave.
At the heart of the castle stood Nyxos"s throne room, a vast chamber bathed in a dim, sickly light that seemed to emanate from the very walls themselves.
Upon his throne of ebony and obsidian, Nyxos sat, his form cloaked in shadows, his eyes burning with an otherworldly glow.
"Visitors? I don"t get many of them nowadays," Nyxos remarked, rising from his chair.
Nyxos stood tall and imposing, his form cloaked in swirling shadows that seemed to dance and writhe around him. His presence exuded an aura of darkness and mystery, commanding attention and respect from all who beheld him.
His eyes, pools of inky blackness, gleamed with an otherworldly light, reflecting the depths of his power and knowledge.
Behind him, a pair of ma.s.sive, dark wings unfurled, stretching outwards like the embrace of night itself. Each feather seemed to absorb the surrounding light, casting the area into deeper shadow.
Nyxos"s stature was imposing, towering over those around him like a dark sentinel of the heavens. His features were sharp and angular, his expression unreadable as he regarded Ren and his companions with a mix of curiosity and disdain.
As he moved, his movements were fluid and graceful, belying the immense power that lay within him.
Every step seemed to echo with the weight of his authority, leaving no doubt as to his status as a G.o.d of unparalleled strength and darkness.
In the presence of Nyxos, they could feel the weight of his power pressing down upon them, a tangible reminder of the shadows that lurked within the heart of the Heaven Realm.
However, Azazel and the rest remained undeterred. This was just another boss that they needed to defeat.
Azazel, in particular, stepped forward boldly, his arms outstretched in a demand.
"Hey, you! We know that you have Lorelai. Hand her over!"
Nyxos regarded them with his slit eyes, a hint of amus.e.m.e.nt playing across his lips. "So bold and so rude for a demon. But what do I expect from someone from the underworld?"
"So, you know that we came from the Netherworld?" Desira inquired.
"I have my ways," Nyxos replied cryptically, his gaze never wavering from the group before him.
"So, you know that we"re here to kick your b.u.t.t if you don"t hand over Lorelai, right?!" Iraelyn interjected, her fists clenched in a show of strength.
Nyxos only smirked in response.
At the side, Ren couldn"t help but feel puzzled by the straightforwardness of the confrontation.
He had expected to explore the castle first, encounter a few minions, maybe even an angel or two, before confronting the final boss.
It had always been like that.
But here they were, facing Nyxos within minutes of entering the castle.
It was unexpected, to say the least.
Not that Ren minded, since it saved them some time dealing with small fries before finally confronting the boss.
Yet, he couldn"t shake the feeling that there was a twist lurking beneath the surface, a reason why they were confronting the boss so early in this event.
