Chapter 259: Graveyard of the G.o.ds Translator: EndlessFantasy Translation Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation
He was actually able to form a party with another player.
This was something that Qin Ruo never imagined to happen when he entered Graveyard of the G.o.ds. Previously he was constantly thinking about how he should avoid other Angel Faction players and hunt other Demon Faction players as fast as possible to clear his Infamy Points. But who could have guessed that due to restrictions and peculiar monster distribution on the map of the Graveyard of the G.o.ds, that he would actually party with a foreign female player with a decent level.
But this was good news for him!
At least he would have more confidence in clearing the Darkfiend Wolves in the area. Furthermore, since they were in a party, Qin Ruo would not have to worry that the foreign girl would launch a sneak attack due to his Villain status.
But there was always a downside to everything.
Since Qin Ruo is in a party with a stranger, he could not execute his original plan and he had to reveal his Mana Drain to his party member which he wanted to keep a secret.
For Emma on the other hand, she was more and more surprised learning about what Qin Ruo could do. At the same time, her image of Qin Ruo as the mysterious and lone champion became even more mysterious and impressive.
After draining the MP from the monster and using simple Elementalism to reduce the monsters movements and ability to attack, Qin Ruo was able to greatly reduce the amount of damage that he Darkfiend Wolf could deal to him. Furthermore, there was also his terrifying Tier 3 combo skill, Compressed Frost Bullet and Sudden Explosion which dealt magic damage almost equivalent to a Tier 4 spell. Not to mention the skill"s triple status effect of Slow, Chill, and Laceration!
If it was not for the strong little guy serving as the vanguard during battle which made Emma felt even more confident, she would probably constantly make a blunder of herself during battle.
The little guy who was fighting in the front lines was moving at unbelievable speed as he could easily dodge ranged attacks. There was even once where there were six incoming spells but he easily dodged five magic spells and used Shadow Break to neutralize the last spell, perfectly dodging everything.
With Shadow Strike, Shadow Razors and his perfect attack timing made Emma could not help but think of how useless she was.
A Pet at just Level 31 was able to easily take on several Darkfiend Wolves like it was a piece of cake while she a Level 46 Ignis Swordmaster find its hard to even go against three Darkfiend Wolves on her own was just so frustrating!
“Hey don"t s.p.a.ce out! This is the last of them!”
Qin Ruo instantly noticed when Emma showed a slight delay in her movement as he instantly positioned a Frostrampart before her blocking a string of Corrosive Shadow Arrows successfully.
During the first ten minutes of the battle, Qin Ruo was able to notice that Emma"s skill in battle was not inferior compared to Little Apple. When she was less pressured, she was able to easily unleash the full potential of an Ignis Swordmaster, her Fire Dragon"s Slash which was able to melt everything just so happens to be the bane of darkness monster and her attacks against the darkness monsters was also swift and precise.
“Sorry!”
Emma cheekily stuck her tongue out, apologized and pulled herself together. She paid full attention to the Darkfiend Wolf in front of her and used Fire Dragon"s Dance.
The monsters in the Great Tree Forest did not seem to resp.a.w.n. After the two of them had cleared all the Darkfiend Wolves in ten minutes, no other monsters seemed to sp.a.w.n nearby. But it was also fortunate that they did not resp.a.w.n since with Qin Ruo and Emma"s clearing speed, they would never break through the monster"s blockade and leave the area.
In just a few hours, numerous intense battles were enacted on the first floor of the Graveyard of the G.o.ds. There were battles between monsters and players, battles between players of opposing Factions and chaotic battles between opposing faction players and monsters at the same time.
War alarms were raised everywhere in the Graveyard of the G.o.ds!
It was also that moment, the official forum which was dormant for a while began to go liven up with excitement!
Numerous player that had died in the Graveyard of the G.o.ds began to voice out their opinions.
More than half of the players complained about their painful experience on the official forum! Most of the players complained about the random player warp of the system was extremely horrible. There were situations where two opposing faction players were warped in the same area and even worse when one unfortunate player was teleported with two other opposing players at the same time!
There were people who complained that the difficulty of the Graveyard of the G.o.ds was too high. Several groups of monsters nearby was at least level 45 and above, and sometimes they would have to face Tier 5 monsters.
Other than that, there was also the issue regarding the environments in the Graveyard of the G.o.ds!
There was the magnificent Great Tree Forest filled with bloodthirsty monsters; the scorching hot Death Desert filled with sandstorms and Sandworms; the subzero temperature Underground Frostlake where hundreds and thousands of bloodthirsty Frost Vampire Bats live; the Impa.s.sable Swamp which is pitch black and barren wasteland where you can hardly move a step and etc…
Graveyard of the G.o.ds!
It was a place which lived up to its name where even G.o.ds peris.h.!.+ Just the dangers that one encounters at its outermost area was enough to make numerous players feel despair as they found it hard to even move forward. It made people even wonder what other dangers were in the higher floors of the Graveyard?
But the extremely harsh environment did not scare the players away, instead it made players who were bored with the common regular places to feel excited and high in spirits for a conquest!
However…
The Graveyard of the G.o.ds not only had a harsh environment.
There are strong colonies of monster and opposing faction players who could appear anytime to kill them. All of these lethal factors would arrive together which even the elite champions would easily face the dangers of death.
Although Xiaoxiao did not enter the Graveyard of the G.o.ds, just learning about it from the videos posted on the forum by players who had recorded their battles was enough for her to understand how chaotic and dangerous it was inside.
Death could befall anyone at any time!
Xiaoxiao had seen multiple occasions where players with decent equipment and skill died without knowing what happened.
After watching those frightening videos for more than an hour, Xiaoxiao was glad that she made the right choice for not going but was also worried for Qin Ruo safety at the same time.
The situation in the Graveyard of the G.o.ds was more complicated and harsh that what everyone had expected. It was so dangerous and difficult that it was nearly impossible to accomplish soloing it alone. Not to mention that Qin Ruo was currently still red-tagged which makes his chances of forming a party with other players very slim as players from both factions will kill him if they had the chance for his equipment. Thus, making his current situation even more dangerous than other players.
As Qin Ruo was pondering, his phone rang.
“Hey, Brother Da, you just died?”
” Cough , it was a total disaster, there were just too many strong players inside.”
Brother Da who was on the phone sounded very depressed.
“Oh yeah, has Ruo Ruo came out yet?”
“You jinx, Ruo Ruo won"t die so easily,” said Xiao Xiao with contempt.
“Uhh. Haha, you are probably right,” Brother Da"s face reddened as he replied with an awkward laugh.
“Are you going to enter also?”
“Nope.”
Brother Da sighed and said, “You wouldn"t believe how unlucky I was, I dropped a piece of Gold equipment just after I had looted two Violet equipment. I"m not going back in anytime soon since I had suffered such a great loss. And the Sandworms there were insanely strong as all of them were Tier 4 monsters and they even sp.a.w.ned in groups at a time. It was just too much for me so I have given up for the meantime. I am just going to wait for Ruo Ruo and Squad Leader to come out first and see how well they fare inside. I realized now that if I entered with my current strength now, I would just be fodder.”
“…”
Xiaoxiao stayed silent instead of consoling Brother Da because she had seen on the forum that players even stronger than Brother Da had also died easily. Thus, she stayed silent since consoling him for his bad fortune which was a common occurrence would be going against her conscience.
Brother Da was also going through the posts in the forum on his computer as he mumbled to himself.
“d.a.m.n, how large is the map for Graveyard of the G.o.ds? How did they even design such harsh environments in the game? There is even a maze here. Sigh , I just hope Ruo Ruo wasn"t sent to Death Desert like I was.”
“What? You died in the Death Desert?” asked Xiao Xiao.
“Yea, that place was a nightmare. It was either sandstorm or Sandworms everywhere and the weather there was blazing hot. Ruo Ruo is screwed if he was sent there, since he wouldn"t be able to use Aquamorph. The blazing sun rays and heat of the desert would have easily exposed him and the Sandworms detects players by their body temperature which renders even Bandit"s Stealth useless,” replied Brother Da as he nodded.
“I guess he wasn"t dispatched to Death Desert because if he was he would have come out already,” said Xiaoxiao as she rea.s.sured herself.
“You have to be extra careful in other places too because there is not a single place that is safe in the Graveyard of the G.o.ds. Although people like me who have just been there understands that fully well but we can only be spectators to the pitiful people that are still inside as they have to explore everything by themselves without any help. Woah, guess what I just found out Xiaoxiao. I can"t believe such a scary thing exists in the Great Tree Forest.”
“Great Tree Forest? Are you talking about the Bloodthirsty Tree?”
Xiao Xiao had seen one of the players" recordings as he was a warrior with decent equipment and fairly skilled but he still died in a peculiar way which left a deep impression on her.
Bloodthirsty Tree!
It was giant tree which looked just like any other tree in the Great Tree Forest. Players usually ignore it due to its tall stature and that player who encountered it was suddenly entangled out of nowhere by its countless tree vines, bound and hung up into the air. The vines of the Bloodthirsty Tree had a powerful draining ability which fed on the fresh blood of living creatures.
Even though the warrior was able to use a high-grade HP Potion to slow down the speed of his HP being drained and activate his Combat Aura successfully to cut the tree vines around him, he had fallen from a hundred meters above the ground and splattered into pieces of flesh after he freed himself.
After seeing what this player had to face, Brother Da suddenly realized how friendly the sandstorms and Sandworms were in the Death Desert.
