After four days of working as a bartender and an amateur investigator, Lance hadn"t found any trace of his killer. Not even a string can be connected from the pirate and the journal that he had written. Even Lance took a risk to ask a pirate about that pirate that had the same name as the one that he was looking for, but no, no traces.

Meanwhile, He was sitting on a table near the window while checking a bunch of government books that he bought from the black market, "d.a.m.n, I can"t find anything."

Dima came to him and gave him a plate of beef manhattan which basically meat, mashed potatoes, gravy, and toasted bread. Dima worked as a cook and bartender in the bar to fill his free time while Lance did his investigation. "Comrade, cheer up, and eat this comfort food. Might I serve you some wine too, sir?" Dima said to him.

"Thanks, Dima, you will be a good father, you know," Lance said as he closed the book and dug into the food.

"At this age, maybe I will marry her even if I can," Dima said, referring to Amara"s mother.

"Haha, good enough, you can"t handle a baby after all, and you got two beauties surrounding you, and she can support that drinking habit of yours," Lance said as he put a piece of mashed potato.

"Gee, you are always criticizing my drinking habit, aren"t you?" Dima said as he took a seat in Lance"s table since every customer in the bar had been served. He took Lance"s book and read it all out, "You"re not going to get anything from this, you know?" Dima took a conclusion just from reading from the t.i.tle alone, "Portsmouth Harbor Traffic Report."

"Hey, I just have to try," Lance said.

Dima read the book for a brief time, "All of this ship are pirate or privateer owned. What are you expect to find? It"s like finding hay in the needlestack. It"s just next to impossible," Dima said.

"Fine, what can you do for me besides carping all day long at my effort?" Lance complained as he ate the gravy with a spoon.

"Well, you can do what? You don"t know anything, Lance, just give it up and leave everything to the good old uncle Dima here," Dima offered his help, which Lance replied with a grin on his face.

"What is it? Your diplomatic solution is out of the box right now," Lance said.

"Well, I can ask around the port while you search the black market for a book that contains the activity that the kingdom did. Surely, there is something that you can find. Meanwhile, I will ask around the port for a hooded pirate," Dima said as Amara suddenly came at the table like a sudden freak.

"Hooded pirate? I saw him around this region around two months ago when I was the Viscountess," Amara said although it was not helping Lance much. Dima left the table to serve another customer, and Amara was not as her shift since the morning shift was for Dima and her mother.

"Thanks, Amara, but that"s not too much as a help," Lance said as he finished his lunch and opened another book.

"Lance, I know that you sad, but you must let it all flow away. Killing a killer is not going to reduce the number of the killer on this earth," Amara tried to convince him.

"Yeah, that"s why I"m not going to kill just one person. There must be a chain of events that lead to the a.s.sa.s.sination of my parents. I felt like that this is going to be a very long b.l.o.o.d.y journey for me. You can get in line or just leave. n.o.body is forcing you to help me," Lance explained his intention.

"One person against an entire something, I won"t place my bet on it. I know this won"t help much, but tonight the townlord is renting us for his party, and I need your help. You can"t refuse, Lance, you must help me," Amara forced him.

Lance thought for a second then something crossed his mind, "Ok, I guess reading the count"s personal library won"t hurt for a bit," Lance said as he shook Amara"s hand.
