1770 Lingyun’s Confession 3
He had known about this when Lingyun came to them. He knew how important Lingyun was and whether Piaomiao Pavilion was able to get what they needed depended on her. So Qianji stopped whatever he had been doing and came to listen to their conversation.
He could not show up to disrupt their talk. Wuxing needed to be left to talk her through.
So Qianji heard the whole conversation.
He was furious.
But not as furious as Wuxing.
Perhaps that was because Qianji had observed how Lingyun, during her time at Piaomiao Pavilion, had gradually shed her submissive nature and stopped fixating solely on Wuxing. She had grown beyond being completely consumed by him, and Qianji had witnessed her rediscover her own individuality.
Women were dumb, but they were fickle.
He had witnessed Lingyun’s changes. So he did not put all hope in her, just had some lingering hope. But Wuxing was different, he had been waiting for her and trusted her deeply for the result.
That was a loss for Piaomiao Pavilion.
But what else could they do about it?
Wuxing failed to keep this woman to his side.
“Enough dwelling on it. Lingyun has made her choice, and there’s no use pretending otherwise. She has shown that she no longer holds any affection for you, and despite your efforts to convey your needs, nothing has worked. It’s time to let go. Lingyun is now aligned with Phoenix Girl, and it’s evident by the presence of guards surrounding her. Phoenix Girl considers her important.”
” “…”
“Just stop going to her and making yourself present.”
“….”
“Lingyun is totally useless for us. So we need find another way out.”
“….”
“The Cangyan Door is very tricky. They have gone to the new King to make an offer. Though the result is unknown, yet we are put in a very bad position. Sigh, why can’t we just take a look at Golden Rolls?” Qianji was very annoyed.
Wuxing did not hear what Qianji said.
He was thinking about Lingyun all this time. He was so distressed. Golden Rolls were important, but none of these was as important for him compared to that of Lingyun.
He just did not know how he could live on without her around. What was the point of having Golden Rolls?
Qianji was wrong.
He was not pretending. He was not showing this to Lingyun. He was really sad, deep into the bones.
He liked Lingyun.
For years, he might not have the same affection for Lingyun as she had for him. Yet he had a heart.
Wuxing did not answer Qianji.
When Qianji did not hear Wuxing’s response about what they should do next, he turned around and saw the sad-looking man.
He was surprised. “You have truly fallen for her?”
She had been gone for such a long time, and he should not be putting on a show even to this degree.
He must have developed true feelings towards her!
Qianji was shocked. “Wuxing, get yourself up! You are the Guardian of Piaomiao Pavilion, and my alliance man. We must not have affection or love. They will just slow us down!”
” “…”
“Have you forgotten what your goal has been!”
