“I don’t think so?”

Tian Danyue’s eyes followed his hand and looked away when she saw his little finger which was attached back.

She said very carefully as though she was trying to console him, “They should be here soon…”

Huang He did not lift his head. “You didn’t sound confident either.”

Tian Danyue stayed quiet.

When Huang He arrived in Jin City, he contacted An Ying.

In the beginning, An Ying had instructed him to go to a warehouse in the suburbs to get the goods. He even sent him the address. In the end, while they were halfway there, An Ying changed his mind and told them not to go there anymore. He got them to come to this cement factory instead.

Around the cement factory, the smell of concrete and dust filled the air.

The smell was so strong and pungent that they could already smell it the moment they entered the surrounding of the cement factory.

They had difficulties breathing and they couldn’t find any spot that was clean.

The one who received them addressed himself as Gou. He was in his twenties with a studious look and sported a pair of black-rimmed gla.s.ses. He looked like he had just graduated from college. One wouldn’t link a person like him to any criminal activity at all.

Guess even criminal syndicates wanted highly intelligent people to be one of them?

Huang He thought and took a few more glances at Gou.

He didn’t seem to notice Huang He’s scrutinizing glances as he led the two into the laboratory, let them sat at the reception and told them that he would be getting the goods. That was how they were being left there without anyone attending to them.

“Hur! I really wonder if he would be coming back at all? That bleeping b*stard!” Huang He knocked on the table. “These people sure like to drag and hesitate,” he said without a care, “they don’t behave like a man at all. In my opinion, one can’t achieve great things like that!”

Couldn’t achieve great things.

That was his verdict.

Tian Danyue looked at the well-defined lines of his side profile. She seemed to want to say something but closed her mouth again. “Brother Ying said that he will trust you and he will do just that. You don’t know that the Dark Clan is different now. For those people who pick up goods, they adopted a set of safety measures…”

Safety measures?

Huang He let out a sneer. “In my opinion, places that he should guard well, he didn’t do a good job and that applies the otherwise!”

Tian Danyue didn’t say a word and looked downwards.

She saw for herself that Huang He was very irritable that day so she would try not to provoke him.

But Huang He was still unable to hold his temper. After sitting around for a while more, he got up impatiently. “The last time I received some washing powder. I might be given some cement powder this time? I’m not waiting anymore. I’ll call An Ying now that tell him that I don’t want to work for him anymore…”

Huang He was about to take out his mobile phone from his pocket when the door opened.

Gou came inside the room, along with some cold air. He was carrying a big carton box and was accompanied by a young man who was wearing a pair of shades. There was a ferocious blue dragon tattooed on his arm. When he saw Huang He and Tian Danyue, he revealed a set of yellowish looking teeth. Although he was smiling at them, it looked worse than if he was crying.

“Brother Huang, you’ve waited for long. This brother needs to apologize to you!”

“Don’t! Just do away with such formalities. You’ve gone for two hours straight, what’s there to apologize for? Hurhur.” Huang He took a glance at the carton box that Gou was holding. “Hurry up, I need to leave quickly and rush back to the Capital tonight!”

The tattooed guy didn’t seem friendly but he seemed to not want to offend Huang He and Tian Danyue so he continued to show a smile on his face.

“The journey is a little far. We’ve been rushing as well to come back here…”

The tattooed guy noticed that Huang He had no interest in hearing his explanation. He rubbed his nose and turned to look at Gou.

“Give the box to Huang He!”

“Yes!” Gou handed the box over.

Huang He saw that the box were labelled as cement powder. The label was written clearly outside the carton that indicated that the content inside were cement powder. The packaging was not different from the actual packets of cement powder.

Huang He took the carton and felt its weight then he gave a sidelong glance at Gou and the tattooed guy. Before them, he directly placed the box on the table.

“I want to see if this is the real thing so nothing could go wrong!”

Gou and that tattooed guy looked at each other but didn’t raise any objection.

“The last time I suffered a lot of hardships just to receive a few bags of washing powder and nearly got myself into trouble. It’s better for me to take a good look this time…” Huang He laughed without qualms, totally unbothered about what these people might think. He took out a dagger and opened the seal of the box, then took out some of the contents inside.

Inside the box, there were many smaller packets of white powder.

It was rather refined-looking and each packet seemed to have the same weight.

This time, he was sure that it was not washing powder.

Huang He kept the dagger with a look of satisfaction. “I need to trouble you guys to help me seal this up again!”

Gou glanced at the tattooed guy with an unhappy look. However, he still went ahead to do what Huang He requested and sealed up the necessary before pa.s.sing it to Huang He again.

“Thanks!” Huang He carried the box and looked at Tian Danyue. “Let’s go.”

“Alright. So, Brother Huang, we won’t be sending you out then.”

“There’s no need to. I hate all these formalities!”

Huang He waved his hand and went down the stairs with Tian Danyue.

Coincidentally, they saw a man with a black jacket who came rushing upstairs.

Both parties pa.s.sed by each other, the man with the black jacket gave him a quick look and dashed upstairs in a hurry.

Suddenly, Huang He tightened his grip on the box and hasten his steps. They quickly got on the car which they had left downstairs.

The driver was having a nap when he heard Huang He tapping on his seat and woke up with a shudder. Then he smiled awkwardly and was about to start the car when they heard a loud “thump” behind. Something seemed to have fallen heavily from the balcony upstairs. Next, a head popped out from the balcony and was shouting in a fl.u.s.tered tone.

“Brother Huang, wait up!”

It was Gou.

The driver was shocked but before he knew what was going on, Huang He’s voice was near his ear. “Drive now!”

“Mm, but what’s hap…” The driver suddenly stopped before finishing his words and was looking at Huang He with a terrified expression.

After that, his line of sight lowered slowly to look at the dagger pointed at his waist.

“Brother Huang? You… what’s this for?”

Huang He was calm and emotionless. “Just drive and don’t stop!”

Loud sounds of footsteps were heard coming down the stairs. Several people were rushing downstairs and chased after the car. They shouted for Huang He a few times and when they noticed that something was amiss…

“Don’t let them go out!” They bawled.

The driver was a little nervous, but under the threat of the dagger, he stepped onto the accelerator and was nearing the gates of the factory in no time.

“Don’t let that car leave!”

“Stop that car!”

Gou shouted all his might.

The two security guards at the entrance were dazed and before they could react, a few cars suddenly dashed towards the factory from outside.

A group of detectives got off from the cars and walked directly towards the cement factory.

“Brother Gou, there’s trouble!”

Just a while ago, when Huang He was walking down the stairs, a man came running and reported that while he was coming back from outside, he saw a couple of cars near the factory and suspected that they might have been under the radar of the detectives… Gou thought of Huang He who just left with the goods and wanted to stop him. In the end, Huang He ignored him and Gou started to notice that something was off…

“Don’t move!”

“Hands up!”

“Police!”

Gou and the tattooed guy looked at each other, then at the detectives surrounding them and raised their hands up quietly…

“Excuse me officers, what is happening?”
