after getting the members of my brothers mercenary group who wanted to follow we headed back to the magical beast moutains area.Word spread around along with pictures of my face and the faces of my companions. There where all sorts of enticing rewards for my capture and information about my location.
Tier 7 pills, Money, Personal training and cultivation manuals, it was very tempting offers to everyone as people even worship tier 2 alchemists let alone a tier 7 one.
I was asked by Yun Yun not to harm any of her sects people unless they personally came looking for me so I had to withdraw my idea of having ya fei put up bounties I mean who could really out spend me?
Since we can"t harm them what"s our next best option? We f.u.c.king rob them. But we can"t just rob innocent people now can we? Nope, so we let people come and try to get me first. Anyone who attempted to capture me was put on a list stripped of valuable and left naked in the middle of the town square.
This went on for about a month until I had a small booklet of family names and such. Then we would do what we do best. Send the thunder wolves mercenaries to debt collect. for what debts you might ask? Well seeing as im a doctor and doctor visits can be mighty expensive and Noone has any insurance. I need to collect my fee.
Over the course of the next week the entire Jia Ma empire lived in fear of debt collectors. Entire family fortunes where misplaced every night. Noone dared to sleep because as soon as they pa.s.sed out they would wake up with their furniture repossessed and their spatial rings gone.
Nothing was safe. Vaults of family goods. Gone. The garden in front of the house. Gone. The family cat. Gone.
However there was good news to be had. Homeless also dissappeared. Ophans where all adopted. The wounded all around the empire where magically healed. I mean might as well spend my money on something good.
Noone knew what was going on. was it a blessing? A curse? The entire power system flip flopped over night. I of course left them with enough items to sell so they can buy a nice little hut and food. We can"t starve everyone to death as that"s not what doctors do. I think.
There where a few smart families who did not partic.i.p.ate in hunting me down so they were left alone. The primer family for one was all against it as ya fei or one of the three girls who where terrifying would probably destroy the entire family before they could mobilize anyone.
The alchemist a.s.sociation did not partic.i.p.ate. And Nalan yanrans grandfather who knew who I was also did not partic.i.p.ate and forbid his family from doing so. I healed him of his poison on a visit one day and he happily thanked me and apologized profusely for his grandaughters behavior. He had heard a lot about me as I was quite famous in the city mostly for my alchemy skills. Good man he was.
Now the only area left was the misty cloud sect.
The misty cloud sect was stationed on a high mountain in a magnificent looking palace overlooking the entire city.
I happily made my way up the ma.s.sive stone steps getting curious looks from all the disciples. Of course some recognized me and tried to stop me only to be slapped unconscious. This triggered a chain reaction of other cannon fodder trying to stop me but getting slapped silly. Someone was actually smart enough to sound the alarms though. Which led to what I"d like to call elder level cannon fodder flooding the stairs. I had brought Yun Yun along who was following behind me because she was worried I"d do something drastic however she was disguised.
my other guest was a white haired young man who happened to be Yao Lao. I informed him some of his old friends might pay a visit and he was happy to come along.
He just calmly walked behind taking in the scene of the beautiful city and the unconscious flying elders. Such beauty.
The elders realising i was way more powerful than they expected set up a kind of formation that formed a giant white dome to keep me out. I"ll have to learn formations someday they might be useful.
With hundreds of elders pumping dou qi into the barrier it was powerful. So powerful it broke with a single kick shattering into pieces. The elders suffered backlash from this and spat out blood before conking right out to sleep.
Yun Yun just sighed at me. "That was misty cloud sects grand formation used for thousand of years to protect the sect in times of need and extreme danger and you just popped it like nothing."
"It was in the way." I shrugged.
We made it up to the top of the stairs to a clearing with stands and a small arena apparently we had interrupted a younger generation sparring compet.i.tion. Standing at the front glaring at me with deadly eyes also looking pale and skinny was Nalan Yanran. she looked kind of sick it was pretty pitiful.
"You!" She screamed pointing at me.
"Me!" I shouted back.
"I"ve trained all year to be able to surpa.s.s you but you"ve been hiding like a coward this whole time!" She screamed with an insane look.
"I"ve literally been healing people I"m the mercenary town outside of the magical beast mountains I"ve also become an alchemist in this time." I point out.
"I don"t care you"ve finally shown yourself in front of me now I can avenge my loss." she rushes at me.
"I"m sorry who are you again? I"m looking for the grand elder I need to collect a debt." She stumbles mid stride and looks even more p.i.s.sed before letting out a battle scream.
She zooms in front of me and starts throwing punch after punch which I easily block with my hands.
"I"m must admit you are greatly skilled. I haven"t played patty cake like this since my childhood I must thank you for the fond memories." I say wiping off a tear remembering my youth.
Unadulterated rage is what I get in return.
"Pat-cake pat-cake bakers man!" I sing happily slapping away fists.
This is just too much for the poor girl and she breaks down in tears do to stress and falls forward sobbing on me. I pat her back softly, maybe I was a bit too harsh. After a few minutes I hear little quiet snores and pa.s.s her off to Yun Yun. Who finally reveals herself shocking the others present.
