MNLWYPBP chapter 3: When life’s boring, you’ve gotta find some entertainment but if it’s risky, then it’s better not to.

“Gil you’re you’re going to have a younger sibling soon.” That was the sentence which made me smile coldly…if it was the other day, I would’ve rejoiced and started the let’s guess if they’re a she or a he but now, when I know who’s going to be born, I couldn’t despair more…

I looked at d.u.c.h.ess Bedivere, who has golden hair and eyes. My mother is exceptionally beautiful and my younger brother would probably be as beautiful as mother, a typical cute protagonist, who’s wanted by all. For me…I turned to look at my father, who’s ripped, has black hair and eyes and is handsome…I think I’ll become as handsome as father in the future!

“Honey, do you think they’ll be a boy or a girl?”

“A boy” I smiled…100%, even more accurate than a clairvoyant. My mother smiled broadly but my father look dissatisfied and murmured “…But I want a daughter…” Believe me, living beings which are called daughters aren’t that cute…same goes for younger sisters…I have long experienced my younger sister…dammit, I thought I wouldn’t think about her anymore so, let’s just skip this matter.

The mood at supper was warm as usual but it wasn’t as quiet, there were constant discussions about my yet-to-be-born younger brother. When my parents ask me about the matter, I would just smile politely and answer them briefly until supper time was over.

I lied on my bed…sometimes I think a 6 years old’s life is tremendously boring. Should I find some form of entertainment? Reading and being studious like Nigel? Sorry…I’m afraid my sleeping time would increase. Train myself to block Haref’s foot? I’m sure, even if I were to have a holy artifact with me, if I fought with Haref…I’d rather surrender.

Hmmm…life

It’s so boring

“Why do I have to come with you?”

“It’s cause Nigel wasn’t free…and also, I want to become closer with you”

“Huh…”

Please don’t scoff at me like that Mr popular! If I could chose between cinnamon roll Nigel and you, who’s vicious, I would obviously, most certainly choose Nigel! But what can I do, Nigel chose his books over me…

“Do you laze around all day, everyday?” Haref glared at me aggressively. Although, he’s got white hair and rainbow coloured eyes: an outwardly indifferent temperament, in reality, he’s hot blooded…thinking about it now, Nigel, who’s turned aloof in the anime is still a cute lil’ guy.

Childhood truly is scary.

“I’m free…like super duper freeeee” I dragged the last word’s sound out and looked at the other, “and what do you normally do, Haref?”

“Study, Combat and wizardry training.” Combat…please don’t train anymore, just your foot is enough to crush everything. “For me…ummm…sit, sleep, sit, sleep…” Haref raised his eyebrow curiously, “is Duke Bedivere not strict? You’re the eldest child, you’ll have to take on the role of Duke after Duke Bedivere.” I fantasised about father, who’s harsh and strict “no…” The most he would do is to stare at Nigel and then look at me despairingly.

Hmmmm…Now that I’ve thought about it, Ca.s.s Bedivere was ignored by his family because he was incompetent, but I, who’s an eldest brother, have shown nothing worthy of praise; I don’t even think I have anything of praise. Yet, both father and mother have not attempted to ignore me at all…

“How about you Haref, does Duke Lancelot force you?”

“No need” Haref answered heavily, “it is a duty which the eldest son must recognise themselves.” Are you directly bad-mouthing me? Well, whatever…for Haref, I’ll pretend I didn’t hear it. Our conversation ended abruptly when the carriage we were on came to a stand still, meaning we’ve reached our destination. I opened the curtain and broke into a smile when I saw that a clothe shop was in front of me. I turned to Haref, who raised his eyebrow curiously and was not ready, resulting in me half dragging and pulling him into the shop.

Even though, the shop could be considered huge, it was deserted. This was most probably due to it being the most expensive shops around here rather than it being unpopular, and with this kind of shop, you have to be loaded!

I smiled while looking at a whole selection of clothes before dragging Haref, who’s slightly confused. I’m super sure that a young master like Haref has never bought his own clothes! Today, I’ll make him cosplay!

While walking, I s.n.a.t.c.hed clothes which were aesthetically pleasing and could sense Haref was still confused. It seems like apart from combat and wizardry training, he’s got no common sense training. Son, don’t you know you’re walking straight into a bear’s den!   Well, him not knowing is good! Please let me make you cosplay before you start flailing around! Truthfully, I want to make Haref wear a skirt cause he’s got a pretty face and long hair, it would totally suit him! However, thinking about it again…I may die before making him wear a skirt so, let’s just go with the subtle cosplay route.

I pushed him into a room, as of now, Haref is still puzzled. He only started to react when I unb.u.t.toned his shirt, “the h.e.l.l are you doing!”. His face was filled with panic and he retreated till his back was against the mirror.

“I’m dressing you up?” I smiled while trying to unb.u.t.ton his shirt, “don’t you think we should disguise ourselves before going to the market?” That’s a lie…I only wanted to see you cosplay. “Disguise ourselves?” Haref furrowed his eyebrows, “why?”. “Haref” I pretended to widen my pupils, “you don’t possibly think it’s fine for us to wear our usual outfits which spells out ‘I’m so G.o.ddam loaded’, we’ll be kidnapped and ransomed  in seconds!”.

“There are guards everywhere, including mine and yours. If they can’t even protect two children, I may as well fire them” Haref’s eyebrow are still furrowed, he’s got a sensible reason…dammit!

“Haref, I just thought it was better to protect ourselves before something happens.” I put on a troubled smile, “it’s true that we’ve got guards around us, but places like a market is crowded, we can never know what could happen…isn’t it better to prevent something from happening, even though, there are still chances where something may happen but the chances could be decreased through prevention, right?”. At this point, Haref’s face was conflicted…I knew my reasons were even better! Even if I’ve got the body of a child, my brain is that of an adult! It’s too early to argue with me, kid!

Eventually, I walked out and left Mr super popular to dress himself up alone. I looked around and found myself a plain outfit and changed into it. With Gilbert Bedivere’s face, though not as good-looking as Nigel or Haref, it could still be considered attractive. I tied up my shoulder-length golden hair and smiled faintly, when I saw the dimples at the corner of my mouth, I thought…whoah, totally adorbs.  I closed my eyes…isn’t Gilbert Bedivere in my ideal younger brother strike zone.

Haref walked out wearing a pair of trousers and was bare chested. Hey, lil’ bro, even though you’re not all grown up yet, can’t you see all the drooling little girls! You’ve got too charming a face! As I was worried he may be taken by one of the girls, I smiled before covering him with a shirt. “Was there any problem with the outfit?”

“Problem?” The corner of Haref’s mouth twitched, “Problem? Yes! There’s one! Actually more than one!! What the h.e.l.l is up with your coordination of shorts paired with a bear hat*!!”. I smiled, “it’s a child’s outfit’. I guarantee it would look cute af on you, no one would’ve thought it would be you! Haref’s face heated up, he clenched his jaws, “I-am- not-a-kid!”. 6 years old…if you said you were considered an adult then wouldn’t your dad, Duke Lancelot, be considered elderly? Sometimes I just want children to admit they are children, I don’t know why they would want to grow up fast, there’s nothing good apart from being scolded more often, I, myself have been a grown-up once yet, I would’ve loved to remain a child for eternity.  So that he would not strike me with his foot, I could only fix a smile and packed the bear hat and the outfit away…since I’ve bought them, would Nigel wear them if I told him to…

A n.o.ble’s outfit is completely different from the common man’s , so are their social standings, which is why Haref and I, who are currently wearing posh clothes, are being watched. Haref had a forced expression as he was the apple of everyone’s eye. With his white hair, aesthetically coloured eyes and his aesthetically pleasing appearance made me look like a background character, which is good, please don’t notice me, let him be the only noticeable one and make him suffer embarra.s.sment alone! I walked, smiling and picked up various things which interested me, whether they were plain weird necklaces, statues or whatever objects which I thought were fascinating…but I’m not buying any of them. Sorry all the merchants out there for making you guys hopeful that someone might buy these stuff at last.

On the other side, shy Haref changed his countenance to an irritated one ummm…how should I say it, he’s releasing a dark aura? Let’s just say, no one’s brave enough to stare him in the eye.

As I was walking beside him, it seemed like he finally took an interest to his surrounding yet, I became increasing bored. Actually, when evening came round, Haref became enthusiastic and started to drag me into shops. Our follower’s baggage increased steadily but what we bought…none of them are even a bit useful. Sometimes Haref could act like his age so, I could only let him enjoy himself until it became dark.

“I can’t walk anymore. Can I go and wait for you in the carriage?” I smile wearily to this filled-to-brim-with-energy person, who’s face started to show annoyance…hey mr, don’t compare your strength with mine, you can send a door flying but I can’t ok? I’ve got delicate feet!

“Fine but can I stay longer, around…” Haref glanced at his watch, “…around an hour.” The corner of my mouth twitched…G.o.d! Where did the previously reluctant you go!! “Half an hour”, Haref decreased his time without waiting for my refusal, he hopped down from the carriage and ran into the night…I meant buying stuff in the night market. I sighed while looking at Haref’s retreating back, I can’t imagine what made him go into the SM route and what made him become the SM route’s owner, who’s got explosive popularity. Same goes for Nigel, I can’t imagine what kind of thing did cinnamon roll Nigel encounter to mould him into the aloof prince route’s owner, who’s 2nd in popularity.

I yawned and tucked myself in while waiting for Haref. Right now I don’t want to do anything cause my legs hurt. I hope there’re muscle pain relief pills in this world, actually no, I wonder if there are any healing magic for muscle pains? Maybe I’m having auditory hallucinations, I could hear sounds of someone speaking so I just mumbled something back in annoyance. The voices around me seemed to amplify so, I fumbled around for a blanket or something to cover my head…great, now I can’t hear anything. But, it was as if silence could only last for a few seconds before I felt someone lifting me up. I opened my eyes lazily, I spotted Haref staring at me wide-eyed in shock…ummm, he’s got real pretty eyes.

While my mind was still clouded, I could feel hot, heavy breaths beside my ear and a cold sensation from across my neck…

“No one moves! Or else this brat’s…a goner!”

Hmmm……………………………………………………………………………..

WUT?!
