Jimmy walked closer to Miya, as she sat on the bed, looking lost. She was tousling Ben"s hair while the boy slept, but it looked like she was deep in thought. Obviously, she felt very unhappy.Jim coughed.
Miya looked up at him, her eyes strange. It was as if she looked at him, but couldn"t recognize him at all. Something jolted inside Jimmy.
Such misery, and just because of a rat?
He would have promised her a room full of rats right there, but the thought in itself was so revolting, he decided to give up. He would rather go for the Hayabusa plan instead.
Miya looked at Jim, and when she received no response, was about to look down at her knees again. Then suddenly, on impulse, Jimmy took a step and held her chin. Thankfully, she didn"t jerk away his hold. Instead, her eyes wavered a bit, and she seemed to have registered his presence.
She glanced at him in question.
"I owe you a Hayabusa drive," Jim told her slowly, meaningfully.
There was no reaction on her part.
His heart dropped to the pit of his stomach. If this didn"t work, what would? The woman had cried for the thing!
And then the words struck her.
Miya"s eyes immediately widened, and her mouth opened in a gasp. She shivered slightly, and her sight never left Jimmy as she whispered:
"H-Hayabusa?"
Goal!
Jimmy nodded in all seriousness when his insides danced in joy. He let go of her chin, and then slowly held her hands. Helping her stand up, as she looked at him like a devotee in love, Jim said again, "You want to go for the drive, right?"
Miya nodded profusely.
Jimmy pursed his lips at the reaction. He couldn"t laugh. But had he known beforehand the Hayabusa had such a ma.s.sive effect, he wouldn"t have got shot to get this woman. Something told him that had he offered her a Hayabusa, she would have jumped in a fire pit, let alone marry this C.E.O.
Lack of information was indeed fatal!
Jimmy chuckled slightly at the thought, and then took her out of the room. When Miya glanced frantically at her son, Jim said rea.s.suringly, "I"ll have Mr. Park come over, okay?"
She nodded again.
Jim smiled, thoroughly enjoying the obedience. Not to mention, the look of absolute fascination that she was giving him.
When they reached the garage, he brought forth the bike. It was a beautiful red and white, and looked so gorgeous, Miya almost cried her eyes out. She looked at it, and then at Jimmy, and wanted to kiss the man right there.
It was a Hayabusa!
The man was letting her drive a Hayabusa!
Jim offered her the keys, and she leaped at them in delight. Her hands shivered as she touched the precious vehicle, but when she was seated, she looked at him and patted on the seat behind.
Jim was lost.
Was she inviting him too?
Almost in a trance, he walked up to her and took the seat. He didn"t want to be too clingy though, so he held onto the frame of the bike from behind. Miya turned the keys, and off they roared into the night.
Jim directed her around the Hunter estate, not wanting her to leave the grounds. It wouldn"t be safe at this time of the night. Not to mention, his own house was huge enough to guarantee a fun bike ride.
Miya, on the other hand, was in a dream. She geared up more often than necessary, not driving too fast though. She wanted to, but her heart shivered and she got goose b.u.mps all over her body from just the thought that she was driving her dream bike. She didn"t race it through the night, for fear that she would lose control. So she just drove at her usual speed and let the wind blow across her face.
Jim had initially decided to revolt at the fact that she hadn"t worn a helmet, but then he chose against it. She looked so giddy with happiness, and her hair fell across her face so strikingly, he couldn"t help but watch. His eyes stuck to the mirror in front, he only watched her as she smiled, howled and beamed throughout the ride.
Almost suddenly though, Miya glanced at the mirror too and caught the young master looking at her intently.
Despite herself, she blushed.
She hadn"t realized how close they were sitting till now. Close enough for her to feel his breath on her neck. When the thought hit her head, Miya froze for an instant. Involuntarily, she geared up slightly, and Jim leaned in closer. Her whole body stiffened, but strangely, she didn"t hate the feeling. She could almost feel his heartbeat.
Jimmy was still watching her.
She was so beautiful.
Why hadn"t he ever thought of anyone like that before?
Strands of her mud-brown hair kept falling to her face, and Jim felt like he could watch her for an eternity. Her own emotions freaked out Miya too, so she pulled out her phone with one hand and handed it over to Jimmy.
Once the young master wasn"t looking at her anymore, she was instantly relieved.
"What do I do with this?" Jim called out over the cold wind.
"Play the first song on the most played list," she said.
Jim followed the order, but was instantly p.i.s.sed as "Show Me the Meaning" began to play. He didn"t like this song at all!
But Miya"s face brightened up as the soft music rustled through their ears. Her lips spread into an ecstatic smile, and for a brief second, she closed her eyes.
Her favourite bike, and this song. Hm…
Despite himself, Jimmy called out:
"Why are we listening to this c.r.a.p song?"
It was totally ruining the mood!
Miya flinched, then looked at the young master through the mirror.
"What are you talking about? It"s an excellent song!" her face was contorted in retort.
Jimmy made a face, but then the argument was over.
Well, if the missus liked it…
As the music began to play on loop, Jim lost all sense of time. They drove for hours it seemed, and slowly, the song began to tug at the young master"s heart too.
It didn"t sound so bad after all.
