"Yes. I will be back soon." Vasu said as he tried to leave. "No, wait." Ariana said as she stopped Vasu with one hand. "Heal yourself first. I didn"t give you a lot of energy and I don"t want you to get drained while traveling." Ariana said as she looked into Vasu"s black bead like eyes. "I will do a group heal and come right back... Howlite can carry me if you are worried." Vasu replied as he looked at Howlite. Howlite flapped off Ariana"s horn and landed next to Vasu. He tilted his head to the side as he gave an adorable hoot. "Okay.... Mirela can you open the ground to let them out?" Ariana asked as she turned to Mirela. However Mirela was dumbstruck. She and every other fairy close by stared at Ariana with their mouths wide open. "Mirela?" Ariana called out pitifully. Mirela shook her head and carefully flew towards Vasu as she kept her eyes glued to Ariana. "Let"s go Vasu, Howlite." Mirela said as she tried to led the way but she couldn"t move her gaze from Ariana.
She couldn"t help herself, she was automatically drawn to Ariana like a moth to a flame. "You are not what you seem..." Mirela whispered as she flew a little closer to Ariana"s face instead of the exit. "Is that bad?" Ariana asked as Mirela inched closer. She then stretched out and placed her hand on Ariana"s cheek. "Beast folk?" Mirela asked as her eyes grew wide. "Mirela, I love you but please my Lumas need help." Ariana said with a hint of desperation and exhaustion.
"Right! Vasu, Howlite, follow me!" Mirela shouted as she flew towards a tunnel. She extended her arms out and looked at Howlite. After careful consideration, her hands started to glow a bright marigold, she started stretching her arms back in a pulsing rhythm as she smiled.
The tunnel started to stretch and reform as if it was made of rubber. Up and down, sides pulling as it grew in size. "Done." Mirela announced as she looked back with a prideful face. "Thank you." Ariana sighed, Mirela turned right round and flew into the tunnel. Howlite flew up and gently grabbed Vasu"s round body with his claws. "Stay safe." Vasu said as Howlite flew around Ariana a few times then flew up the tunnel. "You too." Ariana replied just before Howlite dove into the tunnel.
"Are you still in pain?" A concerned Lobo asked causing Ariana to turn and face him. "No I"m fine now." Ariana said as a suffocating silence surrounded them inside the earth pocket. "Ummm. Hey, I, I.... I have never asked anyone but... Is it disgusting? Is it disgus-dis.... disturbing when I change?" Ariana asked pitifully, her solid aquamarine eyes stared desperately at Lobo for an answer. Lobo dropped his gaze to the ground as he bit his bottom lip.
"Ooooh... I see." Ariana said as her hear skipped a beat. She thought about it some more and laughed at herself. Of course it was disgusting, she was ripping herself apart while Lobo"s transformation in comparison was so effortless, rather beautiful and alluring one could watch him change all day. Ariana brought up her garnet red claw hands and watched as she opened and closed it. Skin so scale that glittered and sparkled, all sectioned on her body while his was soft, furry and inviting. Even their bodies were different. It wasn"t fair.
"He can never find out." Ariana said under her breath. Lobo quickly looked up and saw that Ariana had brought her knees up to her chest. She hugged herself as her leather like wings were retracted on her back, her tail was wrapped around her ankles and her face was burried into her knees. Lobo reached out and tried to put a comforting hand on Ariana"s shoulder but pulled back at the last second. "I understand." Lobo replied pitifully.
Suddenly the fairies started to collect themselves as two bright tan coloured pixies flew towards them. They had tiny, lemon quartz trumpets at the sides of their bodies. They looked at Ariana with amazement and completely forgot their duties. A loud hacking cough was heard and it snapped the pixies back to reality. They quickly tossed their trumpets into the air and caught it effortlessly. They then twirled it around like batons, tossing it again in the air after flipping it around their tiny hands.
The other fairies cheered for the show but Ariana kept her face hidden, finally the pixies caught their trumpets and placing them to their lips. The blew a snippet of the Grand (triumphal) March from "Aida" Giuseppe Verdi. They then brought their trumpets down and turned to one another after they flew a few steps away from each other. A pumpus looking sparrowman flew in and pulled out a tiny scroll. He cleared his throat and stuck his b.u.t.ton nose in to the air.
"His most esteemed elder Cephas of the Earth fairies!" The sparrowman announced then flew beside the pixie on the right. An above average sized sparrowman fluttered in elegantly. His posture was immaculate, his face looked as if it was chilled from stone, he wore a golden orange robe over his left shoulder that swooped down to his waist, tied of with a golden glittering belt then the fabric flared out into a long dress. He had a well defined body, striking, burnt orange, eyes, thin lips, a strong jaw line and long, dark brown hair that was lazily braided to the side.
His wings were large and b.u.t.terfly like. They were a translucent orange that sparkled regardless of the amount of light in the underground pocket that they sat in." You"re early." He said in a calm but strong voice. Ariana looked up as met the Elders gaze. "I was hoping to look more normal when we met." Ariana said with a strained smile. The elder raised his eyebrow and flew closer to Ariana. "Why?" The Elder asked as he inched closer to Ariana"s left horn. He placed his hand on the horn and inspected it. "Pure garnet." He said in astonishment. "Yes." Ariana replied reluctantly.
