He tried to fight his own thoughts refusing to let his guilty eat at him anymore. It was all in vain. He knew better, he had a chance to fight for her but chose to stay silent. To pretend that nothing happened, he left her there to die. He left her alone with that cruel monster when she needed him the most.Jomei could no longer stand and dropped down to his knees. He placed his forehead against the spot she last stood and cried as blood slowly stained the carpet. Then it hit him! He needed to atone for his mistakes! He refused to let his stepmother find out about his love child. He swore to himself that he would protect Aayushi and their unborn child no matter the cost. He quickly ran back to his room and started to collect all his valuables. If his father wanted him gone then he would leave but he wouldn"t be leaving alone.
He knew his plan was foolish but he couldn"t afford to stay any longer. He then rushed off to the storage building. The front doors were locked, he had no key instead he looked around the ground and found a large rock. He quickly picked it up and started attacking the lock pad. By the time he was able to break the lock off his hands were already swollen and b.l.o.o.d.y. Jomei looked around frantically, dirty everything with streaks of blood. In total frustration Jomei toppled over shelves and stacked doc.u.ments. He had no idea how long he had been searching but his hands had already stopped bleeding. He slumped down on the floor in complete defeat when he suddenly spotted what he was looking for. He pulled out a small jewelry box decorative with multiple wood carvings fawns, stages and does.
He gingerly touched the carvings and thought of his mother. A frail woman with whiter then white snow like skin, red lips, golden brown hair and bright ruby red eyes. Jomei let out a haggard breath as he pushed down on the two carvings on the sides of the box box. The first being and elegant stag watching over his family on the left of the box. The other being the doe cleaning her fawn on the right. A small clicking sound was heard and the lid of the box lifted an inch upwards.
Jomei gently closed the lid again then pressed down on a small fawn grazing with his family of the front. The lid sprang completely open and he looked inside. There was a beautiful emerald encrusted key, a family crest, decorated with silver and emeralds and a map. Jomei pocketed the key and the crest before he opened up the map. He grinned to himself as he looked over the details. It was a three day travel but it would ensure his and Aayushi"s safety, more importantly the safety of their unborn child.
He quickly closed the box and his it under a pile of boxes. He didn"t want to leave the jewelry box behind as it was a momento of his late mother but he couldn"t risk anyone knowing that he found it. He carefully opened the storage door and scanned the area before he made his run towards the stables.
As he reached the stables he was starting to feel uneasy. He had been running like a mad man all morning but he had yet to run into any of the staff members. He found the two horses he wanted to borrow and started to hitch them up when suddenly he heard some singing. A cold chill ran down his back as her looked around the stable but couldn"t see anyone. Jomei went back and finished off hitching the horses. As he turned to run back to the castle he heard a fairy like laugh. It was heartwarming yet painful to hear. Jomei looked around again but didn"t see a single soul.
"My love what will I ever do with you?" A familiar voice called out and Jomei sprinted out of the stable, running at full speed towards the stream. Gasping for air his eyes started to water as he saw a little girl running after some b.u.t.terflies as two women sat on the gra.s.s. One was in a maids outfit while the other he recognized right away as his stepmother. Their backs were facing him but he couldn"t help but feel his heart soar.
The girl had to have been only a year old. She had beautiful locks of golden wheat coloured hair, slightly curling around her round face. A small cl.u.s.ter of freckles dusted her nose and cheeks while her innocent smile lit up the area around her. She turned to face Jomei and stared at him with her big, innocent, golden eyes. "Lello?" She called out as a chubby little hand raised into the air, uncertain of the stranger but when she saw he didn"t move she began to wave enthusiastically.Find authorized novels in Webnovel, faster updates, better experience,Please click for visiting.
Miranda quickly got up and scooped the child into her arms as the maid turned to face who had invaded their happy little bubble. Jomei had gone pale as he took a few steps forward. His heart was beating loudly against his chest as his eyes turned wild and bloodthirsty. "Miranda... why are you holding her child?" Jomei said as he raised a shaky accusing finger. He looked at the maid and recognized her as one of his stepmother"s personal maids. The shock was too much, he hoped, he wished that the maid would have been her but G*d was too cruel. It had to be someone else or else this would not be his h.e.l.l.
"Jomei, it"s not what you think." Miranda said as she held the child tightly against her chest. "Put down the child." He said as he took a few steps closer. "No! I can"t do that! Please Jomei forget what you saw and go back to the castle." Miranda begged but Jomei refused to stop moving. "PUT DOWN THE CHILD!" Jomei barked as he started to look more rabid. "Mama!" The girl cried as she clutched onto Miranda. "Shhh baby it"s okay. It"s okay he won"t hurt you." Miranda cooed as she placed a gentle kiss on the top of the little girl"s head.
