"Mirela get away! We have to avenge for the ones who have fallen!" The Elder shouted as the rest of the fairies halted their advance. "No! You"re wrong! The ones who sacrificed themselves would never want you to do this! They would never want Ariana to pay any price for her mother"s actions! Even if they did, Ariana has been paying for it her entire life. You haven"t see how they treat her, you haven"t seen the amount of abuse she gets from the other humans and now... Now to show us she"s a beast folk... No matter where she goes she will never be accepted. She also saved the lives of everyone standing here today! How can you go against her now when she has done nothing but good despite her life?" Mirela asked as she looked at Ariana pitifully."We do not interfere with the dealings of humans and we have no feelings for beast folk. How she"s lived her life will never compensate the lives we have lost, you most of all should feel the most bitter towards her. You lost you father and mother, don"t tell me that you have forgiven everything her mother has done? Have you forgotten all those nights you cried, all those times you you through tantrums because of your circ.u.mstances? All those nightmares?" The Elder asked Mirela bitterly.
Mirela dropped her gaze and fluttered in silence. "I didn"t think so. As for saving everyone"s lives... how do we know that it is not some sort of trap to make us come to her aide like her mother later on in her life." The Elder asked as his face turned pitch black, he clenched his hands hard in to fists and veins were popping out around his knuckles. Mirela brought up her gaze, a new fire was burning behind her eyes. She straightened up her back and held her head up high.
"She is not her mother! I don"t believe she would ever sacrifice a life to save another. Grandfather, you have been a mother, a father, my everything all this time, this is how I am able to face Ariana and see who she really is! She is nothing but an innocent child in all of this! I can not hold a grudge on someone who was forced into this life! She has held everything together and choose to keep moving forward! So I will stand by her side and fight for her right to live!" Mirela shouted as she fluttered her wings vigorously. She then inched closer towards Ariana and sighed as she looked into her eyes. "I will never doubt you, ever."
Ariana looked at Mirela with tears in her eyes and whispered her thanks. Mirela then turned to face the Elder. "Grandfather, you hate the jewel eyed priestess for taking so many lives but Ariana is not her. She can never be her no matter what situation she"s in. Even without knowing anything she saved countless lives and never asked for anything in return. If you honestly and truly believe that killing her will ease the raging storm in your heart then you will have to kill me along side with her!" Mirela shouted then sat right on Ariana"s shoulder and grabbed locks of Ariana"s hair. She then started to tie the small strands around her waist before she looked up and glared up at the Elder.
"Mirela you don"t have to risk your life." Ariana whispered as her heart swelled with happiness. There were not many magical creatures who would want to come near her, let alone willing to die for her. She was truly touched by Mirela"s actions.
"You stupid child! Get away from that abomination this instant!" The Elder shouted as his face turned bright red. Mirela snorted out hot air as she crossed her arms over her chest and averted her gaze. She was not going to listen to her grandfather any more. Ariana sighed and moved to untangled Mirela from her hair. "The thing that almost left your village in ruins, what was it?" Ariana asked as she gently fought against a struggling Mirela.
"This is not your concern." The Elder said between gritted teeth. Ariana freed Mirela and gently wrapped her hand around Mirela"s small body. She then moved her hand forward and presented a very angry Mirela to the Elder.
"Elder, after I started coming to this Academy I"ve made so many true friends that are actually around my age and don"t look at me with fear or personal gain. Not many people know who I am or what I am but I can tell you with the upmost certainty that I will cherish every single one. I will never think of what I can get from them but rather what I can do for them. So please, let me compensate for my mother"s actions by getting ride of the monster plaguing the magical creatures. I don"t want my dear friend Mirela to get hurt in the future."
The Elder signalled for some fairies to remove Mirela from Ariana grasp. Two sparrowman grabbed an arm of Mirela and held her in place as they fluttered backwards. "Let me go! Let me go you disgraceful jerks! You"re making a mistake! Let me go!" Mirela shouted as she kicked her legs furiously. "Do you understand what you are proposing? You want to go after that monster that has been continuously attacking not just out clan but all the clans within the Academy?" The Elder asked calmly as the other fairies started to flutter backwards.
"Tell me is this a good deal? I"ve already dealt some damage to the monster not too long ago and it seems it hasn"t come back to drain you so if I can track that thing down and stop it from hunting again, will this make us even?" Ariana asked as she regained some of her senses. "What are you doing?" Lobo hissed under his breath. "Shut up for a second." Ariana whispered back.
