Ariana sat in the kitchen. The Lumas had gone back to the master bedroom with Mrs. Dabeny and Brie. The only one that stayed behind was Davita. She sat in the middle of the table as Ariana sipped her tea. "You know, I"m not really in the mood to hear anything but Roselyn is right. I can"t just push things off anymore." Ariana said soflty but she couldn"t mask the bitter undertone in her voice. She was still upset with Davita but at the same time she felt relieved. She knew deep down she want the people closest to her to know everything about her and accept her past. That was why she choose to tell her story, well part of the reason. She also felt that she owed the Lumas the truth about her own past and hoped that they would feel more inclinded to tell her their stories.
However it was a huge gamble, their was still a chance that they wouldn"t accept her. She sat there and watched her older sister burn alive just because of her mistakes. She was a murderer and no one could change her mind. Ariana wrapped both her hands around the fresh cup of tea and looked at Davita with a gentle expression. She had no right to be mad, since she wanted her friends to walk in on her story.
Davita had volunteered first to tell her own story. Ariana need to let go of her nasty thoughts and live in the now. "Davita.. Thank you for what you did. I"m sorry I was upset with you." Ariana said softly.
Davita watched Ariana as if trying to find a secret meaning to her words. A few minutes pa.s.sed by and Ariana started to nurse her tea. "I was never human." Davita started. Ariana froze mid tea sipping then looked at Davita with rounded eyes. "I"m sorry?" She asked as she put the cup down.
"I was never human. I was actually an anthropomorphize snake and I lived in a very different world then this one but I think we all did."
.....
"Princess Momo!" A young girl called out as she rushed through a forest. "Honestly Xue, you are such a slow maidservent. I think you might also be the worst one too." Princess Momo said as her voice echoed through the forest. "Princess, I beg your forgiveness and await my punishment when we get back but can you please slow down?" Xue pleaded as she struggled to find a trace of her princess.
"No. This is important. I need to make it to the lake before the sunrises today." Princess Momo hissed. Xue sighed as she kept running. At least now she knew where the princess was going. Xue pulled up the hem of her dark green tunic and clutched it against her waist. She then started to run towards the lake with everything she had.
Xue knew if she didn"t make it to the lake and watched over the princess their was h.e.l.l to pay. Xue kept running until she saw the exit of the forest. As she jumped through she looked around and spotted a very n.o.ble looking gazel dressed in a beautiful light blue and lavander hanfu. Spring flowers decorate the hems of the lavander upper garment making her look like a fairy princess.
"Honestly the worst." Princess Momo said as she shot Xue a cold glare. "I"m so sorry princess." Xue said as she dropped to her knees and bowed her head. Princess Momo turned her head and moved her gaze to the sh.o.r.es of the lake. She completely ignored Xue and just silently watched. Xue kept her head down but started to lick the air.
She didn"t know what was going on, she had only been a.s.signed to princess Momo recently. She was sold to the palace by her family. They were ashamed to have allowed her to brought into this world and demanded that she pay them back for all the years she lived under their roof, eaten their food and being taken care of.
However Xue never thought her family was saintly, she knew the truth. The only reason she was allowed to live was because of her grandfather. He pitied her and ordered the family to never kill her but he pa.s.sed away shortly after Xue turned five. Then the only loving family member she had had left the world, leaving her behind to live a life of h.e.l.l. She never knew why her family allowed her to live another ten years but always believe it was her grandfather"s doing from beyond the grave. So she believed her grandfather to be her guardian angel.
While Xue was lost in her thought she tasted something different in the air. She then heard some bushes russle. She didn"t dare to look up but her tongue kept tasting the air. "You came back." A soft, charming voice called out. "I will always keep my promise." Princess Momo sighed as she took a few steps forward. Twigs snapped as she walked.
"You are so beatiful." The voice said in a dream like state. "You are too handsome for words." Princess Momo mumbled as she stopped moving. "Can I come closer this time?" The voice asked. "No... maybe next week...." Princess Momo said as Xue tasted the pheremones princess released. Xue quickly retracted her tongue. She wished she could disappear at that moment, she was absolutely mortified that she was around the princess with presumably her lover.
Xue quickly covered her ears and started to hum to herself. She really didn"t want to be there. After a few moments Xue felt her body fall sideways as pain burned from her right torso to the rest of her body. "Y-O-U! ARE THE WORST!" Princess Momo said as her eyes turned murderous. Xue trembled under the princess"s gaze. Five days, Xue had only been with the princess for five days and in those five days she was cruelly beaten and hara.s.sed.
"I"m sorry my princess!" Xue pleaded. Princess Momo just gave Xue a distgusted look then walked away. "Wait my princess!" Xue cried out as she tried to get back up. She then took a peek at the lake and saw no one there. "What are you looking at?!" Princess Momo hissed. "Nothing my princess." Xue answered immediately. "You saw and heard nothing tonight. One word about tonight and I will be eating your flesh for my next meal."
