“Mian, I’m sorry… I… I wasn’t being careful enough,” Mr. Qin cried.
When Huo Siyi took the twins last time, Huo Mian almost lost her mind. Now that it was happening for the second time, she couldn’t possibly handle it anymore.
“Honey, stay strong, our daughters will be okay. They’re so smart, even if they are in a dangerous situation, they’d be able to protect themselves. Don’t be so hard on yourself; you want to make sure you’re okay when they return, right?” Qin Chu couldn’t care less if Huo Siqian was still spying on them. He hugged Huo Mian by the waist and comforted her softly.
But little did he know, she could barely hear a thing as her mind drifted miles away.

“That b.i.t.c.h… finally made a move.”
“Boss, should we help rescue the girls? Perhaps, Miss Huo will appreciate your help,” Ah-Cheng suggested.
“No, Mian won’t thank me at all. In a situation like this, there’s nothing I can do. It’s better to silently observe.”
“But… what if they kill the twins?” Ah-Cheng asked anxiously.
“Not yet. She won’t simply kill the twins after spending so much effort to abduct them. She wants revenge,” Huo Siqian explained calmly.
It was no surprise to him that the twins were abducted. In fact, he knew it was going to happen because he always had one important lead, a lead that Huo Mian and Qin Chu had both missed.
“Boss, when they finish with Qin Chu and Miss Huo, they will come for you too,”
“She won’t live till then. No need for us to take action, we’ll watch the dogs fight. When the shepherds fight, the wolf has a winning game. Ah-Cheng, you need to read more.”
“Wise you are, Boss,” Ah-Cheng stopped talking after understanding Huo Siqian’s thoughts.
Huo Mian, Qin Chu, and everyone else spent the whole day looking up and down the street the twins were last seen. However, lady luck was not on their side.
By the time evening had arrived, no one spoke a word about the flight to the U.S.
Eventually, Qin Ning and Tang Chuan went to meet their friends, to see if there might be additional leads.
Qin Chu and Huo Mian went home, only to be stopped by Mrs. Qin. “Oh, you guys are back. Where are the kids?”
Upon hearing the word ‘kids’, Huo Mian’s heart sank even deeper, to which she didn’t even know it was possible.
“They went to a sleepover at the in-laws. They won’t be coming back tonight.”
“That doesn’t sound right. I thought they were coming to the U.S with us at ten tonight. The two kiddos wanted snacks, so I went out and bought a bunch for the flight.” Mrs. Qin pointed happily at the bags of snacks.
“Mom, we’re not going to the U.S anymore for now. There’s been a change of plans. Once I get things sorted out, you guys can go back,” said Qin Chu.
“Oh. Why didn’t you say so earlier? I bought all this for nothing. Since we’re not going anymore, let’s eat first.”
“Mom, I don’t feel too well, you guys eat.” Pale-faced, Huo Mian walked upstairs, and Qin Chu followed.
“Honey, do you want some congee?”
“No, I’m going to go lie down a bit in the reading room.” Mr. Qin could barely hide the sadness on his face.
“Weird. Why’s everyone so down today?” Mrs. Qin couldn’t have imagined that the twins went missing, and therefore, she didn’t even stretch her thoughts toward that direction.
– Some high-end party room –
By the time Tang Chuan and Qin Ning walked in, Su Yu and Wei Liao had already arrived. In fact, they had already finished a bottle of drink.
“Huh? Why are you here? Shouldn’t you be at the airport?” Wei Liao glanced at his watch and smiled.
“Can’t go anymore. s.h.i.+t just hit the fan,” Tang Chuan said in a serious tone.
“What happened? Why so serious?” Wei Liao continued to joke.
“The twins are missing,” Tang Chuan said, and Su Yu immediately jumped up from the sofa.
