3rd person point of viewFlashback
Along the hallway that showed the various ornaments yet screams of a dreadful aura, the headmaster of Salford family walked along this way and opened the door that revealed his study room.
It was restricted.
Failing to obey means punishment. A punishment that"s equivalent to death.
Only he and one other person were allowed except if he allowed him to, with his presence of course. He fixed his grey colored robe before he sat on his golden chair. His eyes reached a black staff and its black diamond at the top was continuously giving off a dark aura.
A knock on the door sounded and the man in a light-colored robe entered without his permission.
Yet he wouldn"t experience death.
It was because it"s the other man who"s allowed to enter his study room, with or without his presence.
This person was the famed Headmaster of the Estrama family, Headmaster Estrama. Although he had a lot of papers in his hands, he walked in an imposing manner and didn"t lose his composure. It was supposed to be an a.s.sistant"s task but he couldn"t hastily bring one when going to Headmaster Salford"s study room.
"Headmaster Salford, I"ve got the problems covered," he said.
It was the first thing he said. No formal greetings that could be seen usually from the headmasters when gathering in an event.
Nonetheless, it enlightened Headmaster Salford"s mood. His lips formed into a grin. He told him to sit and discuss this important news.
"Good, good. As I"ve said, the inexperienced one should just stay out of important responsibilities. I wonder how long would that person persist and forcedly fit herself on the highest place," Headmaster Salford said.
Headmaster Estrama heard his evil laughter. He maintained his silence and hesitated if he would talk. He"s quickly been found out because of his actions.
"What is it?" Headmaster Salford asked.
"I was talking about the problems of that mining area. It can be solved by her," he said.
It made Headmaster Salford"s mood turn bad in a second.
A misunderstanding, it was the truth.
Headmaster Salford clenched his fist and an indisputable amount of dark aura lingered across the room. The headmaster in front felt the coldness of it slowly entered through his body.
"What do you mean?!" Headmaster Salford asked.
The latter showed him the papers he brought. It was about the plans for that mining area. Headmaster Salford examined it.
"Those members of that family always give me a lot of problems," Headmaster Salford said.
His calmness returned and asked him more questions.
"What about her suspicion?" He asked.
"About that, it"s always about the rumors she heard from the capital. Recently, a man had been controlled by that dark aura. It almost showed a hint of our plans but I acted well. After all, she"s just a young girl locked into the castle. It would have been harder if the late ruler had taught her the ways of the real outside world," Headmaster Estrama said.
Headmaster Salford relaxed. "I"ve been worrying for nothing," he said.
"But there"s one more problem, the trade that should have been successful had failed. I have a feeling that the man behind this is more cunning and dangerous than the former," Headmaster Estrama said.
However, Headmaster Salford still maintained his calmness. Problems after problems, it was always like that. Solving affairs in the daylight and then making problems during the dark. It"s ironic but he was used to it. The only thing that made him mad was the persons that continue to hinder his hard-earned plans.
This man, he was used to it. After the other"s death, he took after that man. Headmaster Salford thought that he would deal with him like the way he made the other dead.
But it would be harder for the other man left a few cunning and powerful persons in this world.
"We need to change locations and be more strict in releasing pieces of information to our men. Who knew, that girl is also a sacrifice. That man is the evilest person I met," Headmaster Salford said.
Despite being one, he dared to call his enemy the evilest one. It was like admitting that he"s inferior to him when it comes to shady things.
Nonetheless, this dark-hearted headmaster was stating the truth. Who knew how many times he was secretly defeated and beaten by that man when that man was still a child. No one would have believed that but Headmaster Salford didn"t want anyone to know that. It was such a shameful past.
He erased it in his head and began talking plans with Headmaster Estrama.
Along their serious conversations, someone knocked. It wasn"t a simple knock. Both Headmasters knew that this sound and patterns of knocking the door meant that it was a piece of very important news.
"Enter," Headmaster Salford said.
Although it was almost a whisper, the person behind the door heard it. A woman entered with her hands clasping and looked at him. She was the feeble daughter of his.
"Speak," Headmaster Salford said.
"Headmaster, Archmage Elvina and her a.s.sociate are found on the front gate and the guards told me about this," she said.
Both of the Headmasters remained calm but they wouldn"t deny themselves that they were startled.
What does she need from the Salford Family?
The Headmasters looked at each other grinning. They both have the same idea.
"Bring her to the lobby and serve them food," Headmaster Salford said.
The girl bowed and went outside.
"Let her wait," Headmaster Estrama said.
The time was ticking slowly and both of them continued discussing. They felt very good. Thinking of the scene outside, they laugh at each other.
But the danger didn"t fade. It was still suspicious of them to visit his place.
Not long after, the woman knocked and he gave her permission. She said that the two were being impatient and were on the verge of searching for him. Of course, it wasn"t a good idea. An outsider strolling at his place was a bad thing.
"Time"s up, we should go outside," Headmaster Estrama said.
"Hmm, let"s go," he said.
The three of them went outside. With the lead of Headmaster Salford, once they saw the two, both of them acted like they were stunned that these two attempted to find him in one of the rooms in this hallway.

He acted with hospitality and let them join their feast. A feast that was suddenly held. Even the cooks in the mansion were stunned. They kept thinking why the Headmaster prepared their secret and special dishes, every single one of them.
He felt good that he was in his best clothes and pieces of jewelry. He was almost tempted to bring his staff and end-all of this but it wasn"t the right time. Everything should be carefully planned or else in a single slip, his plans would fail.
"Let me see your mediocre experiences and logic," he thought.
The Headmaster thought that the new Archmage knew nothing but to practice spells and read books in an isolated place.
There was indeed truthfulness at it but one couldn"t make an accurate prediction on an individual.
