Professor Quirrell coughed twice and then started to begin his lesson. He was directing the cla.s.s directly from the notes in his book. The professor was dryly reading to the contents.
Benjamin looked at the grade 5 textbook in his hands. He then c.o.c.ked his head to his mentor to ask him a question.
“Is he really going to teach the cla.s.s like this? He is just reading through the textbook.”
Karl gave Benjamin a sorry glance.
“Of course, what else could he do? You can’t expect him to be like Snape or McGonagall who have real experience teaching. During the junior cla.s.ses he claimed that he took down a troll with one spell. Can you believe that?”
Benjamin shook his head at once. This frail looking teacher took down a troll? Not likely possible.
Before coming to Hogwarts, Benjamin was excited to go to his Defense Against The Dark Arts cla.s.s. Now he was just disappointed.
“Want to just sleep this cla.s.s?”
Karl asked in a whisper. This senior knew just what Benjamin was thinking.
“How do you think professor Quirrell will react if a vampire bat flew towards him?”
Benjamin said curiously. At the same time he was touching a few b.u.t.tons on his shirt.
“React? I think he would fly under the table and cry!”
He smiled and the shook his head. Benjamin would not really send Nana to scare him. No matter how weak this professor looks, he is still a teacher at Hogwarts.
“You sure a bit mean to the teachers Karl.”
“It’s more of a Black family tradition to do this.”
Karl said as he put his head in his hands and closed his eyes.
The Black family? It must be a magical family from here. Benjamin wanted to know a bit more about his family when he was called upon by professor Quirrell.
“Mr. Black! It seems to me that you are trying to sleep in my cla.s.s. In Romania, if you tried to sleep then…”
Karl interrupted the babble of the professor.
“I know, in Romania I would been eaten by vampires. Seriously professor, can you just show us some magic that can repel vampires?”
Professor quarrel snorted. Karl sat back down and went to sleep.
Benjamin sighed. In his mind, the professor can either not use that powerful of magic or will simply not show it. Benjamin was more willing to believe that it was the former.
Hogwarts is known as one of the best magic schools in the world. But why do they have these kinds of professors here? The magic of this world must either be inferior to his previous, or the quality of teachers simply lacking.
Benjamin looked at the antics of his teacher and decided to just sleep during this cla.s.s. It would be a waste of time to just listen to him babble and he was tired.
In the Slytherin common room, there was a chilly atmosphere. Unlike the bright towers of the Gryffindor House, Slytherin’s residences were much darker under the Black Lake. If you looked through the windows, you could occasionally see some of the creatures swimming through the lake.
Benjamin could have sworn that he had seen that same octopus three times already.
“Did you say that professor Quarrel’s cla.s.s was boring?”
Draco frowned as he heard the explanation from Benjamin. Although he didn’t like the points that Benjamin made, he was still very serious in his studies.
“Benjamin, watch what you said. It doesn’t matter what you Germans normally do, but in the UK you have to pay attention to your image.”
Again with the etiquette. Benjamin may have been born a n.o.ble in both lives but he was not meant to be an elegant person. Otherwise why would he have gone the path of a Necromancer.
“Draco, do you remember what Dumbledore was talking about this morning?
Benjamin asked while trying to change the subject.
‘What?”‘
Draco didn’t react to his question at that very moment.
They were accompanied by Pansy Parkinson. She was staring at Draco, obsessed with his appearance like some kind of drooling monster.
“Do not go near the corridor on the fourth floor. I remember him telling us that.”
Pansy said.
Benjamin looked at the two of them. He could see that they had some doubts. They sat down to talk.
“Today, I had an encounter with Percy Weasley in my Defense Against The Dark Arts cla.s.s. Do not stare at me, I did not take the initiative to talk with him. He told me a few rumors about the fourth floor corridor. Apparently Dumbledore told him to stay away from it no matter what. It was dangerous.”
Benjamin told them with an excited look but he was let down with the indifferent looks on their faces.
“Are you not curious about what’s inside there?”
The young Malfoy shook his head first.
“Maybe you should have been in Gryffindor. Your curiosity is too strong. I do not mean that only Gryffindor has that quality. I know that if I went into that house, my father would definitely know. May even waste my Christmas present this year.”
Christmas? In Benjamin’s previous world, there were not that many holidays. Even the holidays there he did not really celebrate. He had spent too much time in his laboratory.
For the moment, Benjamin’s curiosity had to wait. He attended a few magic cla.s.ses and followed the rest of students back to the common room.
He sent Barrow off to do a few tasks and did not meet up Frank. They did not have anything important tonight.
Frank had a more important task to take care of.
“You want me to join Harry Potter’s small group? The boy who live! Magical families all grew up knowing his story. A lot of people want to get close to him”
Frank was hesitant about that. He kind of wanted to refuse.
“Frank, I know you are not happy about that, but you should at least listen to my orders.”
He didn’t really believe what Benjamin thought about Harry.
“Since he is the boy who lived, he may have some interesting things happen to him.”
Frank grumbled about this and agreed to his request. Even with a conscious, undead creatures can’t ignore the orders of a necromancer. He still didn’t believe it though.
“Do you know what is on the fourth floor near the right corridor?”
Benjamin sat down on his bed while tearing off his clothes. He was a bit thin but when compared to his previous body he was much healthier. Unfortunately, he did not enhance his body yet. It was a normal thin body.
“I do not know master. We ghosts cannot entire that area. There are many terrible things in this world. With your current strength if you go there you will only die.”
The b.l.o.o.d.y Baron knew his masters character. He would not be so weak for long.
“I’m just asking. Why are you so nervous. I will be safe this time. I even found a method to make some intermediate level undead.”
