Chapter 2164.2: Fengxian Wu
“Besides, didn’t Miss Feng recover from your wounds because of the Origin Nurturing Pill? Just this alone means that Miss Feng should be properly thanking this young master.” There was no sign of lasciviousness to be seen in Lu Yun now.
Fengwu had been hiding her strength all along; she’d perfectly concealed her cultivation at foundation establishment. Perhaps Lu Tianling had seen through her, but everyone else in the Lu residence thought she was just initial foundation establishment.
Who would’ve fathomed that this fragile woman would turn out to be an initial golden core powerhouse?
Although this was within Lu Yun’s expectations, she likely would’ve played the pig to eat the tiger to the very end if he hadn’t thrown her off balance and forced her to reveal her trump cards. Fengwu was inexperienced in the ways of the world—her experience was essentially zero—but she maintained an airtight lock on her privacy.
Regardless, such a person was essentially defenseless in front of Lu Yun. The personal capabilities that she’d hide for half a year were quickly revealed in full.
Fengwu knew that she’d fallen for a trap when she saw Lu Yun’s expression. She retracted the phoenix image and said coldly, “There’s nothing I wouldn’t like more than to kill you right now.”
“Kill me?” Lu Yun snorted with laughter. “Lan’er, Lu Xuan, did you guys hear that? This woman wants to kill me!”
Lan’er’s head alertly bobbed up and down while sword light appeared in Lu Xuan’s hand again. He stared intently at the woman, ready to leap into action at any time.
“The Ouyangs and Yuwens died to spies from an enemy nation earlier today, they even lost their patriarchs. Miss Feng is a cultivator not from Dark City. This young master strongly suspects that you are that hand in the shadows! Do you know the magnitude of your crimes?! Not even the emperor can save you now!” Lu Yun hectored righteously.
The typically aloof Lu Xuan’s face began spasming when he heard this. Meanwhile, Fengwu’s jaw dropped. She’d been trapped in the formation all morning and hadn’t known about any of this.
“Nonsense! Your grandfather injured the two patriarchs, what does it have to do with me!?” Fengwu was well aware of her current straits. Although her background was impressive and the deaths of a few nascent soul cultivators didn’t mean much, she would be in for some trouble if she didn’t handle this matter properly.
“My grandfather? My grandfather is a valued subject of Darklake Empire and colleagues with the patriarchs of the Ouyang and Yuwen Clans. They jointly protect the nation, so how would he cut off his own arms?!” Lu Yun pressed his position and didn’t cede any mental ground.
Lu Xuan watched with a strange expression—the two patriarchs and nearly one hundred powerhouses from the two families had died to his own young master’s machinations. So why was he a.s.signing all the blame to a young woman…?
As devoutly loyal as Lu Xuan was to the Lus, wholly without question, even he had to marvel at how thick-skinned his young master was.
Fengwu was speechless. She’d developed a deep understanding of Lu Tianling’s character over the past six months. He was a just, aboveboard, and selfless individual who would never shake Darklake’s foundation for personal reasons.
The only exception was when he charged into the Ouyang residence three months ago because he’d thought Lu Yun was dead. If no one had later notified him that his grandson was still alive, he likely would’ve stomped the entire clan into the ground.
Other than that, he only lectured the two patriarchs when they came calling and threw them out. He didn’t seek to kill them.
In Lu Yun’s words, his grandfather was too good for his own good.
“I was trapped in that formation all morning! How could I have done anything?!” fumed Fengwu.
“Maybe you have co-conspirators?” Lu Yun leaned against a pillar and proposed lazily.
“Co-conspirators?? If I did, would I be here?!” Fengwu had ground her teeth so much by this point that they were on the verge of cracking.
“Haha!” Lu Yun barked with laughter. “This young master is the only grandson of the war G.o.d of Darklake. Who knows, maybe you let yourself be captured so you could gather intel at the Lu residence?”
“Y-you-you…” Fengwu was nearly crying with anger. The kid was too infuriating! The entire complex was surrounded by the Major Cycle Nebula Formation. It was a premier formation even in her homeland, so what intel was she supposed to gather??
The Lu residence was Lu Tianling’s territory. No other faction dared send even the hint of a spy. The other six clans had tried their best when the clan was first established, but their people either vanished from existence or turned into deathsworn devoted to the Lus.
A sudden thought struck Fengwu.
“What if I tell you that I can break the restriction on your second uncle?”
“Oh?” Lu Yun blinked. This was wholly unexpected!
“Your second uncle has fallen victim to the most vicious Severed Meridians Hold! There is no answer for it in the entire world, much less a third rank cultivation empire!” Fengwu stuck her nose in the air. “But I know how!”
The second Lu master and Lu Yun had been like fire and water before—they either jeered at each other when their paths crossed or completely ignored the other’s presence. Lu Yun’s
complete att.i.tude change upon awakening had long become the talk of the complex.
“If you don’t hand over the way to cure second uncle, I will defile you first and then kill you, then defile and kill you again!” Lu Yun cackled and bore down on Fengwu.
“Hmph!” Fengwu no longer doubted anything when she saw the young man’s expression. The kid was irredeemable tras.h.!.+ She’d thought that he was possibly provoking her on purpose to force her secrets out of her… but it looked like she’d thought too highly of the kid.
Off to the side, Lu Xiaochi and He Wuheng were hidden in another formation and watching the scene play out.
“What is this kid trying to do?” Lu Xiaochi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as he watched the two youngsters hurl insults at each other.
“Miss Fengwu is no ordinary person. Milord saw it long ago, so I’m sure the young master sees it too.” He Wuheng practically wors.h.i.+ped the ground that Lu Yun walked on now. The young man had eliminated one hundred powerhouses from the Ouyang and Yuwen Clans with a wave of his hand. Who in the Lu Clan didn’t want to do something like this?
No one could’ve fathomed that their good-for-nothing young master would manage the deed!
“This Fengwu is very likely from an upper rank cultivation empire. Her dao method of Unmoving Phoenix isn’t something that an ordinary family would possess. But she knows about the Severed Meridians Hold and has a way to break it?” Lu Xiaochi frowned slightly.
Severed Meridians Hold was a restriction that someone from the foremost sect of the Dark Orchid Empire—the Nineheavens PaG.o.da—had planted in him. As a sect of a mere fourth rank empire, it was impossible for the Nineheavens PaG.o.da to own such a vicious restriction.
Lu Xiaochi was beginning to suspect this Miss Fengwu, and he still hadn’t determined what his nephew wanted with her after ruffling her feathers for so long.
The kaleidoscope phoenix formed behind Fengu again and circled in the air.
“Unmoving Phoenix?” Lu Yun grinned. “Don’t forget, Fengwu, this is the Lu residence. The entire complex is enclosed by a formation. It would be such an easy task if this young master wished to kill you or make you streak in front of everyone.”
He flicked his finger and sent a ray of light out of it.
Rumble!
Seven scintillating stars winked into existence in the sky—the Big Dipper. Somehow, Lu Yun had brought Fengwu within range of the Big Dipper Formation!
The Ascella Formation trapped while the Big Dipper Formation killed.
“You!” Fengwu looked around with shock. She could easily sense the vast might of pressure from heaven and earth. As domineering as her Unmoving Phoenix was, to the point of sweeping all opponents on the same level as her, it was weak to the point of insignificance when up against the Major Cycle Nebula Formation.
Not to mention, Lu Yun didn’t desire to kill her. He wanted to make her run naked through the residence!
“I’ll tell you how!” Fengwu wanted to slap herself across the face. Wasn’t this just making trouble for herself??
Lu Yun seemed to have become a completely different person after he woke up. She could easily beguile him before, but although he appeared just as lascivious as ever, his att.i.tude had undergone a complete change.
He’d been a mean dog three months ago. Although cruel, he would heel and obey if she waved a bone in his face. Lu Yun now? He was a starving wolf. If she waved a bone at him now, he would gobble her and the bone!
It was the first time that Fengwu made a concession.
Lu Yun smiled. Someone from a lofty, n.o.ble family like Fengwu despised a gra.s.sroots cultivator like him from the bottom of her heart. Indeed, to someone like her, all of Darklake Empire was just a remote backwater.
The initial concession was the start of a slippery slope—and that was Lu Yun’s goal.
There was much to be harvested from Fengwu and he would take full advantage of the rich pickings close at hand. At the same time, he was well aware that someone like her was immensely proud. If he wanted to smoothly benefit from her presence, then he needed to dull the edge of her pride.
“Give me a jade slip.” Fengwu’s expression was foreboding beneath her face veil and her tone could freeze water.
Lu Yun retrieved a blank jade slip from his storage ring and tossed it over.
She filled it with her consciousness, etched some material, then returned it to him.
“I would also request the privilege of knowing Miss Fengwu’s name.” Lu Yun crooked his finger when he accepted the jade slip, making the Big Dipper Formation tremble.
“Compound surname Fengxian, single character Wu.” Fengwu… Fengxian Wu glared viciously at Lu Yun before stomping off.
Lu Yun ignored her, focusing instead on the jade slip that he put into his storage ring.
……
“d.a.m.ned thief and blasted ugly! How would I be in these straits if it wasn’t for you?! I’m being thoroughly insulted and bullied by a country b.u.mpkin!” Fengxian Wu had destroyed a veritable army of tables and chairs in an exquisite residence.
“What ‘I only take wealth and not your body, or I’ll only take your body but not your life’?! You took all of my belongings and smashed the Transformation Jade. I wouldn’t be so poorly off if it wasn’t for you!” She plopped to the ground in an angry huff, angriest not at Lu Yun, but at the robber that’d robbed her clean of everything she’d owned!
