The next day Modesty and Su Jin Wei stayed home to spend their first day as a married couple together. Su Jin Wei could tell something was wrong with Modesty but he wasn"t sure what it was. He thought that maybe she was scared to be completely intimate with him. They hadn"t done more than kissed, touched, and cuddled before, but now they were married. Su Jin Wei couldn"t wait to take their relationship to the next level. For some reason every time he saw Modesty his body would react to her, unlike any other woman.Modesty had her head in Su Jin Wei"s lap while they watched television together. Modesty had finally decided to talk to JinJin about what she was feeling. She just wasn"t sure how to broach the subject, so she decided to start out with their childhood
"JinJin can you tell me about us growing up?"
Su Jin Wei gently lifted Modesty up from his lap.
"Yes, but first I forgot to give you something."
Modesty looked at JinJin confused.
"What did you forget?"
Su Jin Wei ran upstairs and grabbed a box and came back downstairs with it. He sat on the couch and handed it to Modesty.
"Your wedding present Mrs, Su."
Modesty took the box.
"But I didn"t get you anything."
Su Jin Wei smiled.
"It"s okay our wedding was sudden. Open it."
Modesty took the note off the top of the box first and read it out loud.
"Dear Modesty happy sixteenth birthday. I hope you like the gift inside but before you open the box please read this poem. (1) I want to be your love forever and ever, Without break or decay. When the hills are all flat, The rivers are all dry. When it thunders in winter, When it snows in summer When heaven and earth mingle, Not till then will I part from you.
