It was the one and only compulsory skill Dreidus had to learn at Necro Valley. [Death and Decay], the one skill he dreaded almost as much as [Frenzy] and [Hysteria]. It was a powerful skill that affected everything in the surroundings of the user, including the user himself. Dreidus vision darkened. His body exploded as it emitted a thick black cloud full of toxic substances. Compared to the last time he used the skill, the radius of the cloud was much larger; the entire last room was filled with smoke. Dreidus closed his eyes as he let his body fall backward.

However, the pain he antic.i.p.ated never arrived. He did not hear the agonizing cry of his enemies either. Normally, anyone hit by the black cloud would instantly wail in pain. The skin of the victims would instantly start to rot, causing excruciating pain to flood around the victims" body. They would then slowly die as the rest of their body was slowly contaminated by the black cloud.

"Did I die so quickly that [Death and Decay] failed?" thought Dreidus. Confused, he looked around him to identify his new environment. He was lying on the floor in a pitch-black room. There was nothing around him aside from total darkness. "No. This is not the inside of the dungeon core. But this feeling is familiar... This is [Dark Pull]!"

"No... The range of [Dark Pull] is too short. Did Master rush back here? If so, he must have been hit by [Death and Decay]!" exclaimed Dreidus. He panicked at the thought of his skill killing Five but by the time this thought crossed his mind, [Dark Pull] came to an end.

He returned to the ninth floor of the dungeon covered in smoke and instantly, Dreidus heard the agonizing cries of the monsters. His own body started to react but fortunately, as an Undead, he did not feel any pain. His HP dropped rapidly but at that moment, he felt an arm wrap around his waist, carrying him toward the stairs to the tenth floor.

"What?" Dreidus was confused. He could not see who it was due to the smoke but felt that it was not a living person. The arm felt abnormally cold and metallic! All the mechs already broke down in the first room but there were still a few robots in the dungeon. They did not have any fighting abilities; they were only used for manual labors. "I suppose I should have trusted those Gnomes more when they said the robots were better than Corrupted Servants."

A few moments later, Dreidus felt the arms around him letting him go. He panicked as he fell on the stairs and rolled down. Dreidus heard the clanking sound of a metallic robot falling down the stairs and crashing next to him. The robot that saved his life was already covered in rust; it had lost both arms and legs. It buzzed one last time before its core exploded under the lasting effects of [Death and Decay]

Dreidus heard someone grunting in front of him. He raised his head but before he was able to do so,

"Slap!"

Someone loudly slapped him, sending his body flying. "You idiot! Look at what you have done. You not only almost killed master but you yourself is almost dead!" exclaimed Lyra. She seemed furious but her tone only carried sadness and pain.

Behind her, Five grunted as a Flame Sister pushed a recovery pill in his mouth. At the same time, Ignis, the Flame Belle apologized preemptively. "I am sorry for the pain, master."

[Ignite]

Five"s eyes went wide open. He gritted his teeth in pain as he forced himself to not shout. The Flame Belle bit her lips as she hurriedly moved her hands around Five"s body. She needed to quickly burn Five"s outer skin to stop the effects of [Death and Decay]. If she did not, even if he continually ate recovery items, his skin would instantly start to rot again after being healed.

It was an extreme solution but Dreidus" skill was not an ordinary one either. Five"s skin was burnt down from head to toe as the Flame Sisters continually healed him with Angela"s products. His HP bar went up and down like a rollercoaster.

After what felt like an eternity, Ignis finally extinguished her flames and took a step back. All of Five"s skin had been burnt, removing the substances of Dreidus" skill. With the help of the Recovery Potions, Five"s appearance quickly returned to normal.

Dreidus weakly leaned against the wall in front of Five, supported by Lyra. "Master. I am sorry. I did not know you were here. I just wanted to protect the dungeon."

Five grunted in pain and looked at Dreidus with resentment. It was because of his extreme measures that he had to suffer so much. Nevertheless, Five answered while gritting his teeth. "It"s fine. You managed to kill all the enemies at least?"

Having used his suicidal skill, Dreidus was now extremely weak. He shook his head slightly. "I don"t know. [Death and Decay] is powerful and normally, people would retreat instantly. But there are people who can withstand it; especially monsters."

"He is right!" A voice sounded next to Five. It was Angela. The silver-haired harpy wore a heavy expression. "I can feel the smoke moving. The monsters are not dead. We should retreat quickly."

At that moment, a silhouette appeared on top of the stairs. Makrail emerged from the smoke and coughed. He glared at Dreidus. "You! F*cker! I let your girlfriend go and this is how you thank me?" His skin was covered with black spots; they continued to spread even as Makrail spoke. He rapidly drank a recovery potion from his pouch.

Behind him, a couple of other silhouettes emerged from the smoke, all in worse shape than the other.

"Let"s go! Quickly!" shouted Five.

Ignis grabbed Five and ran through the workshop. Dreidus was carried by Lyra; despite her small frame, the Wailing Lady was quite strong. The workshop was filled with Dwarves, Goblins, Gnomes, and Bonesmen. They were the members of their races who turned out to not be gifted for crafting. As a result, they spent their time at their village, training under Alice"s guidance.

These monsters were not as strong as the Undead but there were many of them. More than three hundred were currently brandishing their weapons at Makrail while two hundred more were waiting at Tinyland.

"Pathetic!"

[Flood]

Makrail activated his skill as a giant wave appeared and flooded the entire workshop. The poor monsters were swept away by the powerful current. The monsters gave up their life in an attempt to slow down Makrail but the difference in power was too large.

Ignis rushed toward the stairs but as she approached it, a ripple suddenly appeared in front of the stairs. Ignis froze. The following monsters similarly came to a stop, preparing their weapons to fight back.

Another ripple appeared as two transparent silhouettes gradually became visible. Two handsome men stood in front of the stairs blocking the way. They were both Level 50 Encantados.

[Water Lance]

Without a word, the two Encantados attacked, aiming for Five. Fortunately, Ignis was quick to react. She tossed Five to the side, taking the hit in his stead. The Flame Belle let out a cry as her HP dropped to zero with a single attack. The Encantados were simply too strong.

"That useless Makrail was not even able to deal with you? We should have expected something like this from crafty people. You moved your dungeon core somewhere else, right? We have already checked the entire eleventh floor and did not see a sign of it!"

Five frowned as he heard the Encantado. The enemy monsters actually managed to bypa.s.s the lines of defenses and had already explored the last floor. "It was a good idea to move the dungeon core."

He crawled up and hurriedly ran deeper into the workshop. The Encantado raised his hand, aiming for Five but Lyra attacked with [Soul Piercing Scream]. She bought enough time for the monsters to react. The Dwarves and Goblins threw themselves at the Encantado.

Five ran toward Tinyland, the village of the townsmen. He cursed to himself. "D*mmit. How come Harriet did not destroy the dungeon core yet? She is taking her sweet time? With three level 50 monsters here, how are we supposed to protect ourselves?"

Lyra and Dreidus followed closely behind Five. The monsters along the way rushed toward the enemy monsters but perished on after the other. The entire workshop was a complete mess. The Gnomes used the tables as cover as they used their magic from the back.

Five managed to reach the premises of Tinyland. He stumbled on the ground but was quickly helped back up by the Elder Dwarf, Thundoc Runehand. Lyra and Dreidus entered the village behind him and sat down to catch their breath.

"I am sorry. I failed to protect the dungeon. My mana is completely depleted after using [Death and Decay] and it won"t go back up unless I wait for a few hours. I won"t be able to fight at all," said Dreidus with a heavy expression.

Explosions and painful cries filled the air as the enemy monsters killed all the monsters they encountered. In less than a minute, all the courageous monsters that fought in the workshop died. Five now had less than two hundred monsters in his dungeon.

"D*mn. Harriet. It is now or never. Can"t you hurry up?" shouted Five in his heart.

In the distance, he could see the Encantados leading the remaining monsters toward the village. There were less than forty monsters remaining but they were the strongest of the group. Makrail smiled as he stepped forward. He saw the army of small monsters standing in front of him led by Lyra. "Is that it? It was clever of you to hide your dungeon here instead of the last floor. Where is your boyfriend? He is too weak to fight after using that despicable skill of his?"

Lyra shuddered under the pressure of the three level 50 monsters. Nevertheless, she maintained a strong front and did not back down. Even as the Encantado stepped forward, Lyra did not move; instead, she let out a faint smile.

"Boom!" An explosion sounded and was quickly followed by agonizing screams of pain.

The Encantados froze and looked at the victim. Mikrail screamed as he looked at his charred right foot. "You! F*ckers! How dare you use landmines!"

Lyra chuckled. Despite the severe situation, she found some joy in the Encantado"s suffering. "Come if you dare then!" taunted Lyra.

More than fifty landmines had been buried at the entrance of Tinyland. It was the dungeon"s final line of defense. Each landmine could deal 50 damage to the person triggering it and 20 damage to the nearby unfortunate individuals.

"Hmmp! You think this is enough to stop us?" said one of the Encantado with a thoughtful expression. It was an unexpected situation. They did not know how deep the landmines were or if they would be affected by water. In any case, they needed to proceed with caution or they would all end up dead before they managed to enter that village.

"What? Are you chickening out?" taunted Lyra. She wanted the monsters to rush to their death but her taunts had no effects.

"What should we do?" Mikrail consulted the other Encantado. The situation was quite troublesome to deal with.

"The Popobawas can fly across but I doubt they would survive very long against all these monsters." The Encantados argued about the problem in front of Lyra. They did not seem to care about their enemies who were standing less than a hundred meters away from them; they were confident in their own strength.

A few minutes went by but the Encantados had yet to find a solution. Nevertheless, the few moments of rest were welcomed by both sides. The monsters used the consumables they carried, replenishing their Mana.

Five let out a sigh of relief. The monsters clearly did not have a solution to the field of mines. It was a good idea to burry the landmines for this occasion. He anxiously looked at the monsters, hoping that they would waste a few more minutes. Every second could count. He did not know why Harriet did not destroy the opponent"s dungeon core yet but he hoped that these few minutes would be enough.

Unfortunately, his wishes did not come true. A few silhouettes appeared in the distance, causing Five"s monsters to frown. "An even stronger monster? Did Harriet fail?"

Having noticed the new group approaching, the Encantado looked at their leader. "Ivan. Did you finish dealing with the beasts?"

Ivan grinned. "Of course. Although there are a few runaways, they are just a few level 20 weaklings. All the boss monsters are dead... including that harpy queen."
