Chapter 60: Boundary Observing Incident
The referee called for Cla.s.s 2 to finally make an appearance. They would be going against Cla.s.s 7 of the same cohort.
It was Jiang Xiao’s first compet.i.tion and his spirits were a little dampened when he saw Gao Junchen from Cla.s.s 1 glowering at him menacingly as he entered the arena.
If eyes could kill, Jiang Xiao would have probably died 10,000 times.
“I heard that that kid is your younger brother?” asked a burly boy standing with Cla.s.s 1 of Year Three.
Han Jiangxue did not answer him.
“Hah, children tend to play around. When the time comes, I will stop Junchen,” Gao Junwei said smilingly, seemingly trying to comfort Han Jiangxue beside him.
Xia Yan could not help but sneer. “Are you that confident?”
“I know how strong my younger brother is. I heard that Jiang Xiaopi is a Medical Awakened, but he has rather few star slots and a low potential.” Gao Junwei chuckled and continued, “At this stage, all Medical Awakened are the weaker ones, and to make matters worse, he only has nine star slots. When necessary, I’ll stop Junchen.”
“No need to stop him. Since he’s chosen to take part in the battle, there’s no need to be merciful.”
“You can’t say that. Don’t be so capricious, Han Jiangxue.” Gao Junwei persuaded. “No matter what, I must make Junchen give in a little and save Jiang Xiaopi some embarra.s.sment.
“Oh wow? My teammate is really domineering, eh? Jiang Xiaopi has found a great pillar of support. He hasn’t even done anything for himself yet.” Gao Junwei gibed with raised brows and stared at the crew cut brothers in front of him. Although they had just enrolled in Year One, they were obviously proficient in martial arts.
That was indeed the case. Jiang Xiao’s team got into a 2-1-1 formation and formed a T shape.
The crew cut twin brothers stood side by side, with Yi Lianna in the middle and Jiang Xiao at the back.
The team in Cla.s.s 7 consisted of three melee fighters and one remote fighter. They did not get up to any fancy tricks and instead, attacked the brothers immediately.
Yi Lianna continuously released her condensed Star Technique, Bursting Flames.
Jiang Xiaopi, who was rather good in martial arts, was considered a reserve member, but unfortunately, there didn’t seem to be a need for any reserves in this compet.i.tion.
The kids at this stage all had weak Star Power and very few Star Techniques. Hence, their cooperation was limited too.
The crew cut brothers who were experts in martial arts soon struck one of the three melee fighters of Cla.s.s 7 after a mere few rounds.
Since they could not even survive 3 VS 2, they definitely wouldn’t emerge victorious during a 2 VS 2 fight.
The team that was already weak and full of loopholes in the first place immediately took on one of the two brothers each.
Yi Lianna was left to deal with the attack by the Rules Awakened, while Jiang Xiao didn’t have anything to do.
The brothers soon settled their opponent. Although Yi Lianna was still facing the continuous bombardment of fireb.a.l.l.s, the last member of the team from Cla.s.s 7 had no choice but to admit defeat.
The Cla.s.s 2 team conquered the first match effortlessly. When they returned to the cla.s.s, they were greeted by enthusiastic cheers of joy.
–
Victory obtained! Skill Point +1.
–
Rather stunned, Jiang Xiao wondered, Are Skill Points involved in such compet.i.tions too?
During the compet.i.tion that seemed like child’s play, Jiang Xiao basically stood by the side to observe.
He was just like a spectator. The only difference between him and the audience was that they were watching the compet.i.tion from the pit while Jiang Xiao was watching right from the arena.
Yet, he still obtained a Skill Point.
Ah… interesting…
“Xiaopi, what are you thinking about? Were you sleepwalking during the battle just now?” Liu Ke asked as she patted Jiang Xiao’s shoulder after scurrying towards him.
“I wasn’t sleepwalking, I’ve been protecting the three teammates. They’re too powerful, so I had no chance to heal them,” Jiang Xiao explained.
“Couldn’t you have helped Yi Lianna deal with that Rules Awakened,” Liu Ke said in displeasure.
“The two of them seemed to be having fun. They were blasting the fireb.a.l.l.s around and making such a ruckus. It was like they were releasing firecrackers,” Jiang Xiao said while scratching his head.
“Eh? You rascal.” Liu Ke chastised angrily.
“Liu Ke, I was the one in charge of commanding just now. I told Jiang Xiao not to move,” Zhu Wen explained.
“Why did you guys do that?” Liu Ke asked in bewilderment.
“We’re trying our best to hide Jiang Xiao’s strength. Don’t forget, our goal is not to come in first in this match, but during the one with the Year Three School Tyrants,” Zhu Wen leaned forward and said softly.
“Come on, what Jiang Xiaopi did in the utility room has probably been spread around,” Liu Ke said disdainfully.
“It doesn’t matter even if it’s been spread. To the School Tyrants, Jiang Xiaopi is just a rookie from Year One. As long as they don’t see Jiang Xiaopi’s real abilities, we will have unexpected opportunities,” Zhu Wen said softly.
“Unexpected opportunity… I’m afraid you’re just too confident in Jiang Xiaopi’s abilities. The School Tyrants don’t care about your surprise at all. There is a clear qualitative gap in strength itself…”
Yi Lianna grabbed Liu Ke and pulled her in, causing her to fall onto her chest because of the height difference. “We won and yet you’re being a spoilsport instead of congratulating us.”
“Um…” Liu Ke’s cheeks turned red and she lowered her head before hurriedly pus.h.i.+ng Yi Lianna away.
She was so adorable that she melted Zhu Wu’s heart, who almost lost his balance and turned into jelly.
“Why didn’t our buzz cut hunk get a chance to perform?” Su Rou held onto the mobile phone and remarked miserably.
A few messages popped up on the screen.
“Greenhorns like them can’t coordinate well. Their formation was great at the start, but everything decided to crumble later.”
“In terms of formation, the buzz cut hunk is at the back. The fact that he didn’t launch an attack just means that he isn’t a remote attacker. I reckon that he’s a melee fighter who’s meant to protect that Eurasian chick. I wonder what his Star Map is.”
“Ah… there’s been several matches and I only saw two or three Star Maps of the Rules Awakened. I haven’t seen any Star Maps of the Melee Awakened.”
“This is a high school tournament in Beijiang Province. The Basic Techniques of the Melee Awakened are mostly Green Glow that doesn’t require the Star Map.”
“It’s different for the Rules Awakened. If their Star Maps are not ignited, the speed and power of their release will be decreased drastically.”
“Why are you guys so serious? Did you guys really not see that beautiful western chick?”
“She’s too tall. I’m not interested in Western girls.”
“I heard that Westerners have bad body odor.”
“You’re right, it’s bad for the skin.”
“I love my right hand.”
“…”
Su Rou suddenly said, “Hey, look, the buzz cut is up in the arena again. There are… four melees? They should probably switch up their formation.”
Three minutes later, more and more messages popped up.
“Wow, these two guys with square-top hairstyles are really menacing. Are they from a martial arts family?”
“It’s no wonder they’re biological brothers. Their chemistry and coordination are unparalleled!”
“The square-top brothers are really carrying the team. The 2 VS 4 group battle is awe-inspiring!”
“Astonis.h.i.+ng! An adulterous pair is being ignorant towards the violence going on in school and is instead flirting with each other at the side!”
“Astonis.h.i.+ng! The buzz cut kid has transformed into a promiscuous monk who’s flirting with the Western girl.”
“Astonis.h.i.+ng! The brothers are going against the school bullies but are getting their heads smacked!”
“Astonis.h.i.+ng! The adulterous pair is watching someone get bullied without stepping in. They really lack sympathy!”
“Astonis.h.i.+ng! W… what the f***!?! Medical Awakened!?!”
All of a sudden, an uproar was caused amongst the viewers of Su Rou’s live-stream.
“F*** you! Beijiang Star Technique ‘Blessing’!?!”
“G.o.d of Medical caliber!?!”
“Screw your Medical caliber! This is a Medical Awakened!”
“Is this kid with the buzz cut a Medical Awakened?”
“I… I think I’m in love.”
Changes were inevitable and often ruined plans. Since Jiang Xiao had already received orders from the Zhu brothers to heal them, he was definitely inc.u.mbent.
On the arena, two dreamy, sacred rays of light cast down all of a sudden.
The four students who were panting heavily and dripping in sweat saw the Zhu brothers undergo a huge change and become much more energetic and rigorous.
That was not the most terrifying bit. The most terrifying thing was, the two brothers’ s.e.xy voices…
Their voices were alluring and deep, striking hard against their opponents’ weak souls and lingering in their ears for a long time…
