Airforce One landed at Washington DC International airport without delay. Before their arrival, the press secretary made sure that no one would know about their appearance. No one must see Alexa coming out of Airforce One.
Until they know what"s happening, there are still too many questions unanswered. Why was Alexa held captive at one of the palace rooms, and it seems they are now pointing fingers at her. For whatever reason, they need to be careful.
One by once, everyone descended from the plane onto the tarmac, where all the vehicles were lined up, waiting for them to take them back to the White House. Daniel and Andrea were the first to descend.
Once they were safely inside their vehicle, it was Chrissy, President Grant, and Alexa"s turn. Alexa was placed in between Chrissy at the front, Alexa next, then President Grant right behind them.
Once all three were safely inside the vehicle, the first vehicle moved. The convoy then left the tarmac of the airport headed for the haven of the White House.
Inside the Presidential vehicle, the atmosphere was eerie quiet. Alexa was seated quietly at the far corner looking outside the window but not seeing anything. Her mind was as far away as Stonasia, thinking of Prince Alexander and how is he faring at the moment. She keeps on playing the event the night before at the banquet, but everything was blurry and unclear.
President Grant was holding her hands comforting her, but she doesn"t seem to notice at all. When after driving a distance away from the airport and no one had said a word. President Grant decided to make a small conversation to ease the burdensome look both the mother and daughter have on their faces.
"The weather looks good tonight, don"t you think so... Chrissy? Alexa?" He asked in a very soft tone of voice while squeezing Alexa"s hand to get her attention.
Alexa felt her father squeezing her hand and turned to look. "I"m sorry! Did you say, something Daddy?" She asked with sadness in her eyes and looking all fatigue.
President Grant saw this and decided to let her be. They would let her rest, and once she"s rested and could think straight, then they would need to sit and talk. Alexa has not told them what happened.
"Who do you think sent us those notes about Alexa needed rescuing?" Chrissy asked nonchalantly to President Grant.
President Grant face lit up a little when he heard Chrissy spoke directly to him. Ever since she had regained her memory, they still haven"t appropriately spoken with one another. This is the first time she had said anything to him directly.
"They are looking into that now. The doc.u.ment was sent to the lab for a.n.a.lyzing already. Unfortunately, it would take some time to find that out, since we are dealing with another country.
"The worst of all, these are people from the Palace too. However, we will get to the bottom of it, no matter what happens. I a.s.sure you that, as the President of The United States of America and as her father." President Grant said it with determination in his voice.
Meanwhile, inside the other vehicle, Daniel and Andrea were having a conversation. Andrea couldn"t believe what Ria had told her when they were still on the air. "Sweetheart, do you also think that the Queen may be the mastermind of all the things that happened?"
"Who knows, but there"s a possibility that she could be. She doesn"t approve of Alexa, and I know that! She thinks that Alexa is nothing but a commoner in her eyes. She didn"t know that Alexa is also royal blood. She"s the Princess of the United States of America for G.o.d"s sake!" Daniel said, bitterly.
Andrea came closer to her fiancee and snuggled with him before continuing to speak. "You know Ria told me that all of the secret services had determined that there"s only one possible suspect for all the things that had happened that night at the palace.
However, one thing that bothers them was about Prince Alexander... How did he end up getting hurt and end up being found lying right next to the dead body of Princess Angelica? If it were the Queen"s doing, she would never let Prince Alexander be incriminated no matter what. Don"t you think so?" She asked curiously as she looks up to Daniel.
Daniel began thinking after hearing what Andrea had said. The investigation team has not submitted any reports yet. Therefore, he has no idea what"s their findings until then. "I don"t know either.
"Let hope that we could find the real culprit soon before they send a request for Alexa using the Vienna Convention of the Law. Then I would not have any choice but to send her over, but don"t worry... She would never go alone. I will be with her no matter what the consequences might be."
They finally arrived back at the White House. Everyone was quiet, and no one was speaking as they all went to the parlor of the private residence of the First Family. Grandmother Grant, who was feeling under the weather, was sitting by the fireplace reading a bible. She looked up, and a smile procured on her old face.
"Grandbaby! Congratulations! I saw it on television how you won, and I"m so happy for you!." Grandma Grant greeted Alexa first and foremost.
Alexa, who wasn"t in the mood, plastered a slight smile on her face as not to alert her grandmother. She bent over and gave her grandmother a tight embrace, "Granny! How are you feeling? I heard from Dad that you weren"t" feeling well; that"s why you were not able to come in person?" Alexa was trying her best to look happy, but sadness was visible on her beautiful face.
"Child, I"m fine! Don"t worry too much, and it"s was just due to old age, nothing more. I"m very healthy, look!" She proudly showed them how vigor she is.
Alexa smiled a little while tears were starting to build up in her eyes. Then, she couldn"t hold any longer, and she slumped down by Grandmother Grant"s side and rested her head unto her lap while sobbing... "Grandmother... Huh, huh, huh..." Was all she could say and began crying uncontrollably.
