Chapter 43: I Have To Ask If They Would Be Willing To Meet You Or Not
After hearing Mu Siyin’s words, everyone’s faces looked as if they had been struck.
Li Tongzhi could not help but ask, “Don’t you dream about getting those shares when you haven’t done your part, Yinyin!”
Mu Xingyu snorted. “As if she has the ability to do so. That’s why she’s after the company’s shares.”
Old Madam Mu let out a long face. “Don’t worry about the shares. As long as you can solve the crisis in Mu Corporation, I’ll transfer them under your name.”
At that, Mu Siyin raised an eyebrow. “You’re all talk! What if you change your mind after I saved Mu Corporation? Won’t that put me at a loss?”
“I said we’ll transfer you the shares, Yinyin! What’s most important now is to save Mu Corporation first!” Old Madam Mu looked so grim that it was frightening.
Mu Siyin gave a faint laugh. “Only if you transfer the shares to me first will I have the motivation to convince the Lu family to help Mu Corporation out. Don’t you want the company to get out of this crisis as soon as possible?”
Her words p.i.s.sed everyone off.
“Mu Siyin! Did you make a deal with the Lu family? Or are you just putting up a show to cheat us of our shares?”
Li Tongzhi looked at Mu Siyin as if she were interrogating her.
With her arms folded, Mu Siyin raised her eyebrows and snorted. “It’s up to you if you believe me or not. After all, I’ve made myself very clear. You call the shots.”
Upon saying so, she turned her back to head upstairs.
Mu Heyuan, who had been sitting stone-cold in his seat, could not help but break his silence. “Wait a moment, Yinyin.”
Mu Siyin turned around and looked at her so-called father with mockery in her eyes.
Ever since her mother and sister pa.s.sed away, Mu Heyuan had been acting like her stepfather. He no longer cared about her, allowing the entire family to bully and ostracise her.
She sometimes wondered if he was really her father. Could there be any other explanation behind the coldness in his eyes? Instead of love, it was filled with pure disgust.
Mu Heyuan looked at her solemnly with a frown on his face. “Is what you’re saying the truth? That the Lu family can save Mu Corporation?”
Mu Siyin nodded slightly. “Yes.”
“Make an appointment with them tomorrow. I’ll transfer you the shares after I see them.”
Mu Siyin could not help but snort silently. It seemed that her father was the only one with a brain in the family.
“I have to ask if they would be willing to meet you or not.”
Mu Heyuan paused for a second before he replied reluctantly, “Alright. Thank you for the trouble.”
Mu Siyin refused to accept that he was concerned about her, so she immediately shot back, “I’m doing this for my mother and my sister. Poor things. They can’t even die in peace!”
Mu Heyuan’s face stiffened as he gave an awkward laugh. “Your grandma only said that because she was ruffled. Don’t take it to heart.”
Mu Siyin was too annoyed to continue on with the conversation that she sneered. Then, she turned around and headed upstairs.
Mu Heyuan’s face darkened in reaction to Mu Siyin’s att.i.tude.
Upon seeing this, Li Tongzhi decided to add fuel to the flames. “Look at her! She’s becoming ruder and ruder by day. It’s one thing to treat us that way, but how can she do the same to you?”
Old Madam Mu could see Li Tongzhi’s intention as well. It seemed like all the woman could do was bring trouble to her son. “It’s reasonable for her to act this way since we’re the ones asking her for her help. Keep your thoughts to yourself and deal with it.”
Li Tongzhi gritted her teeth in frustration but said no more. She could only hold in her anger as she lowered her head. “Yes, Ma.”
Mu Siyin looked at the time when she got to her room. It was already past nine at night.
She could not help but let out a sigh. Time had pa.s.sed really quickly.
She was about to head to the bathroom for a shower when her phone rang in her pocket. “Ring, ring, ring…”
